How come this only has 1300 views, Håvard is a brilliant musician, definitely one of the best BM composers ever. His composing style reminds me of classical music, his musical education really shines.
Håvard is truly a musician's musician, his solo project Haavard is breathtaking. Great to hear him share his insight
His solo work is incredible
I can't tell you how much I love the 3 first Ulver records.
They’re very special albums
…Dold Vorde is brillant, as well. Loving what those icons are keeping to do in a very advanced and less ideologically stained way.
thank you very much for this dev, haavard is one of my favs. subscribed bud.
I've said it before. This series is God tier Dev.
Thank you my dude
1:45:04 ff.: Yeah, a lovely riff ‘n track. But my favourite track on the one and only Nattens is the one which seems basically to consist of one respectively two tones / chords and then ends in that overwhelming riff with the five chords below that beautiful primitive lead - You know which one I’m talking of?
great series.. hope you can get dark funeral to the table!!!
I loved watching you talking about music. So good Havard is back on track bringing acoustic and black metal stuff.
Thanks for this awesome content!
thanks a lot man! looking to feature more people for black metal legends so stay tuned!
1:41:28 ff.: Wow, Hugh Mingay did the (quite invisible) bass on Nattens Madrigal. He was in Ved Buens Ende, too, wasn‘t he? I‘ve been looking for interviews of him but without any success.
I‘m not interested in Arcturus but would love to know more about his career and involvements.
By the way, I had the brilliant idea of covering Of Wolf and Fear despite not speaking Norwegian and being a shitty guitarist. 😅 I'm having some trouble decoding what exactly the third guitar plays in the acoustic part, during the long notes. I have the recurring theme written down, but those long notes are not heard very well, and I have the suspicion that they are not all of them whole/semibreve...
Tl;dr: Waiting for your Nattens Madrigal tutorials 😁
Lol. I absolutely love that dudes hat. I wholeheartedly agree
Would be better if both cameras were on screen at once I think
As a massive Ulver fan; This was absolutely brilliant. Got here via a reply on one of your IG posts. Checking out "Dold Vorde Ens Navn" now, and on first impression it's one of the few things to ever remind me of "Kvist".
"Nattens Madrigal" and "For Kunsten Må Vi Evig Vike" are on the top of my heap as far as albums go, so this is a deeply welcomed surprise.
Awesome man glad you enjoyed the video
incredible content!
We have a very good music teacher in school...
But also a very very bad one.
Wow cool!
Incredible content once again
Thank you my dude, aiming to find more guests for BM legends soon
Awesome video
Is that the skeleton of Euronymous in the corner of his room lol
hahaha. thanks man
Cool
I wonder how much the other guitarist (Torbjørn Pedersen) contributed to Bergtatt and Nattens Madrigal.
Should have asked some norwegian folk references. It gets mentioned often in regards to Black metal, without any examples. I'd like to know some examples of what they are talking about
That ep of Dold Vorde Ens Navn was incredible (except for the first song). I like it more than the album to be honest. It's so in your face, raw and agressive yet warm and melodic. Less is more. I wish Håvard would not overthink too much and just write & record spontaneously. That EP was the first recording that felt like the good old days in a long time and was my highlight of 2019 releases.
I missed the more guitar only acoustic guitar in Morkere and Haavard. IMO the string arrangements in both releases were off putting and make me skip the songs (even I love kveldssanger). Except for heartwood, that was great.
