Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos 2016 - Dance of the Old Men 1

As in years past, the Smithsonian Latino Center teamed up with the National Museum of the American Indian to celebrate the rich cultural heritage represented in the celebration of Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. In this segment, the local Mixteca culture organization, Grupo Los Tecuanes, perform the traditional dance, la Danza de los Viejitos, Dance of the Old Men, for the museum's annual Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos celebration. This is the first of two performances of the dance during the two-day festival. The program was webcast from the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on October 29, 2016.
