And I am back again watching this concert, I have said it before and will say it again this in my opinion is the best line up and concert Candy & band has ever done. I have watched the new er stuff and it is all good but this just hit the spot 1000%. This is funk at its best.

Awesome music! All the way from east Texas. We like our country but I love me some Candy jazz!
That band was firing on all cylinders… all playing so well… such an amazing performance… the drummer was laying railroad tracks, you could ride a freight train over those steady beats!

Candy Dulfer is the best!!!
Only people who don’t understand music would give this a thumbs down. She has the best of the best musicians jamming with her like the bass and guitar which have been with her since the late 80’s. Just a fantastic group hands down.
...bold statement that one of "only people who don't understand music can give thumbs down" :) I just gave one thumb down, based on a more than dejá vu sound. Dulfer is a great saxophonist, no doubt around it. But baby... this recipe is more than outdated, the wigs, the outfits, the black voice cliché, the "full of emotion" voice stunts, the funky guitar, the horn section arrangements... the whole format is just more of the same and a really outdated routine.
Exception maybe for Candy's solos (which are also more of the same but very good quality from "the same")
So... see? a thumbs down. ;)
Just because you looooove Candy Dulfer it doesn't mean you're a music expert... you just looooove Candy Dulfer, that's all.
(I recommend buying the whole collection of David Sanborn from thirty five years ago)

The point is that the fact that you might like Candy's music has nothing to do with music understanding... it just and only means that you like Candy Dulfer.

No, honey. Let's put it in another way. The Candy Dulfer act is too old and outdated from the time chicken had teeth :) and she will be going around doing it as long as fans like you that got lost around the 80's and still appreciate the jackets with shoulder pads and move the feet with white funky copy/paste (like McDonalds hamburger) and achieve orgasms with David Sanborn, Michael Bolton or or any other kind of elevator music.
Nothing wrong with that. If you loooove Candy Dulfer, being a fan of Candy Dulfer is most probably as high as you can go anyway and by embracing this you most probably think yourself as top "cooool" enfant terrible (OMG the solos are soooo jazzy) :)...
On the classical front you most probably embrace André Rieu stunts and alike with the same enthusiasm :)
Candy Dulfer is a one-of-a-kind saxophonist.
I am 68 years old and love the music and Candy's group just started listening and likeing this type of music

Well, her appproach, unlike most these days, is primarily instrumental--cuts right back to jazz and (to my mind) improves on it. I hoped to catch her where there's a ballroom dance floor.

What a great performance! As a alto sax player, she exemplifies what I was striving for in high school and early college long ago. These day's I now play piano in a local jazz/funk group and still love it.
