George South seems like the kind of guy you could talk wrestling with for hours.
I could listen to George South all day long! A very good story teller
The problem with WCW back in the late 1980s and early 1990s is that they kept trying to out-Vince Vince. They should let Vince do the stupid gimmicks, and let WCW at least pretend to be a legitimate sport.
All these interviews and pod casts have revived my love for wrestling more than when I was watching it
"Honey, I'm quitting my day job, I've finally made it big being being a Ding Dong!"
Wife: "I need you to sign these divorce papers."
Great interview James! Love George. He's one of the best. I've said it before but you have the best shoots on CZcams. I know it must be a blast getting the opportunity to interview all these legends. Keep it up! 👍
Yo
I just started watching some George South matches because of this. Dude can go for real.
This interviewer is so polite!
George is my new favorite also. he's so kind, and personable.
Holy crap is this amazingly hook your mind entertaining.
Go George go. !!!
another great interview. thanks for posting
The Ding Dongs wrestled in Jody Hamilton's Deep South Wrestling as the Rock-n-Roll Rebels. They were over fairly well in the territory.
The only wrestler that has admited to wrestling the ding dongs lol
George is usually at the Hickory North Carolina toy and card show about every three months
Jim Herd was trying to take WCW into wwf cartoon territory.
People go on about how bad Jim Herd was but ole dropped a few clangers as well he had Robert Fuller bring out either harlem heat or Doom out in chains.
Its funny being able to look at the COTC footage of the match against the Ding Dongs.
Is there any "unofficial" footage of this "gangster" match?
Never heard of George before this, but he is awesome! Could listen to him for hour's.
He seems cool as hell. Very humble and appreciative. Unlike Barry Horowitz who came off quite arrogant when I heard him in an interview.
Barry is proud of his career as a top-tier enhancement talent with real wrestling skills and rightly so. Him and George South both help put over many, many up and coming superstars. Not everyone they put over was grateful or professional.
@@MortonT1958 there's nothing wrong with being proud of your career. But don't talk like you're a big shot when your claim to fame was being put over in a fluke win against Skip.
Love these
The ding 🛎️ dongs. Greatest tag team. In the history of rasslin 💯
The Hunchbacks would be Hall of famers if they had gone with it..🤣
Here is the cool thing about dolls as Merchandise. If you are a heel, you probably won't sell a lot of T shirts or posters. That has been talked about. But with dolls, the fans have to buy your dolls to give the babyface dolls some one to beat up
The tail end of that, about the guys they brought in, is telling of how it was going, in wrestling. A lot, like Ranger Ross, were working indies in the Georgia area or similarly and weren't exactly burning up the rings there; but, they had a gimmick that could be marketed. You were losing the real training grounds, like territories that are running multiple shows weekly, not once a week or a couple of time s a month. Ranger Ross, within certain limits, was better than a lot of them.
A lot of job guys deserve to be in the hall of fame.
Herd wanted Ric Flair to have a roman emperor gimmick
The Good Fellows
How old is Jim Herd? He seemed pretty old back then so I didn't think he was still alive
Jim Herd is still alive, and he is 83 years old right now!
Hmm.. I find it interesting that Ric Flair, the NWA World Heavyweight champion, was jealous of the Iron Sheik's royalty check. What I also found interesting is how everyone in the wrestling business knew how much he made.
Ding Dongs,Shockmaster, PN News,at this time NWA had sillier gimmicks than WWF and that stuff wasn’t going over amongst the NWA fan base. I hear that he wanted Great Muta to turn baby face once, that’s the only good idea Jim Herd ever had.He probably is a good guy but he didn’t understand that WWF style wrestling wasn’t what supporters of his company wanted.
They are magazines, not clips. I doubt two jobs guys, post the 1986 Firearms Owners Preservation Act, had "real" machineguns. 😆
he said they weren't real, but no one knew that at the time.
I like George South and all but I thinks he is losing it Del was in WCW as the Patriot
Del was the Patriot after he was the Trooper.
I laugh when people compare him to Barry Horowitz. Horowitz was waaaay better and was pushable .
George seems so happy that someone wants to interview him.😁
Bless their Bells.. LMAO
