- A series of videos exclusively obtained by NBC News show #AlecBaldwin handling a prop gun and interacting with crew members while filming scenes for '#Rust.' The footage was taken days before Baldwin's prop gun fired a live round of ammunition on set, killing cinematographer #HalynaHutchins.
The videos are among dozens that special prosecutors requested from Rust Movie Productions LLC in the spring and didn’t receive until October, according to a source familiar with the matter. NBC News hasn’t reviewed the rest of the videos.

"I don't want to shoot towards you."
Proceeds to one tap the director
Great alibi dont you think. He knew the camera was rolling
Meaning it's a loaded gun...
"So anyway...I started blasting."
The video that was being filmed when the cinematographer was shot was literally a "down the barrel" shot as the pistol fires it's blank round at the camera.
Maybe the armorer should have done her job? Maybe the cinematographer could have moved out from behind the camera? Maybe ALL the safety on set shouldn't fall on an the shoulders of an actor (who follows direction) / producer (fancy industry word for "manager")? Baldwin shouldn't have been the only person with common sense and self preservation on a professional movie set.
100% the armorers fault.
Alec Baldwin pulled the hammer back, and killed Halyna Hutchins. The armorer shares the blame, but it was most definitely Alec Baldwin's fault.
@papabearpapaboo how was he supposed to know it was real bullets he should trust his armorer
He pulled the trigger it sucks but someone died
@@2Aisaacbecause it is your responsibility to treat every firearm as if it were loaded he did not he failed to check he pulled the hammer back pointed at a woman pulled the trigger and killed her.
@@2Aisaac He trusted his armorer a little too much, and then he killed someone. He might want to share the blame but he can't say he bares no responsibility, he obviously does
Plot twist: this was filmed after the incident for the court
Lol
😶😳
It was
I was gonna say the same thing!!!
Lol no it wasn’t … you do realize some people are going to see your comment in think you are being serious and believe that … 🤦♂️ you might want to add a disclaimer at the very end, making folks aware of your sarcasm 😂
Hes a good actor so I cant tell if he cares about safety or making propaganda videos....
This was before the incident..& he had no reason to believe this footage would ever be published..🤔
They are so pathetic
Extremely helpful for us to know that about you. Very intelligent and helpful comment. Thank you so much.
seriously ? wow . your surely the next sherlock .you found the mastermind and found the missing piece of the perfect crime . you could write better novel than Agatha Christie .i think one of the Baldwin brother have also something to do with it . and because of all that ,Russia decided to invade Ukraine . call me ,we could talk about the case . like you i also can foresee the future in toilet bowl before the flush bro.
@@zacktomczak4962right
It’s sad he had to go through all this but 100% the armorer on the sets fault, it is always 100% their job to make sure any and all weapons on any set are safe and stay safe, before anyone touches a firearm the armorer should check and double check it’s got blanks and confirm it and then only then hand it to the actor and the second the shot is done before anyone moves or does anything the armorer should retrieve the weapon and safe it, that’s just always how it should go no matter what the situation, they often use real firearms with blanks when not doing cgi, but most movies these days use CGI. The actor is not a firearms expert nor should they have to be, that’s exactly why they have a armorer who should be a certified firearms expert, actors are paid to act not to check a weapon for blanks.
😂
I agree it's the armorers fault, with that being said Alec Baldwin had a higher responsibility than just as an actor, he was also a producer and i'm pretty sure the armorer already had been spoken to about unsafe practices with the firearms.
wrong
100% Baldwin should not have pointed the gun directly at another person and pull the trigger He too is guilty and has to face jail.
@sandybremner4165 no, 100% the armourers fault, as an actor it is not your responsibility to check for real bullets in a prop gun are you stupid?
"why aren't you laughing anymore Alec?"

How did all these get out won't the sheriff's department get sued for releasing the film
When it gets involved in a case, if someone files a freedom of information request and the prosecution deems it not vital to the case it can be released.
😂😂 how do you know the sheriff's department. Is the only source for this footage?
Such a sad event all around.
This was after the shooting.
Before*
You really think they just kept filming the movie after he shot someone dead?
How do we know this?
@KyleSpeight-rw1zc The shooting accident happened october 2021 they stopped filming until april 2023
This is before , when the shooting occurred all filming stopped after that
His PR team is hard at work
You can tell, this was definitely filmed after the killing of miss Hutchins.
No, it was not. That does not change the fact he hired an inexperienced child (22) who had never worked the job of gun safety before. She is going to prison.
@@JuliaTanno, I believe you're wrong.
Miss reed did have two jobs on alec baldwins film rust.
alec baldwin safety video was made after the death of Helena.
The trial is coming up and we will see.
Filming did not continue after the incident. Don’t be a lame brain.
this movie doesn't even look like it was going to be a good movie
Thats not a prop gun its a real gun that can fire real bullets. He refused to use a fake/prop gun.
Lying, really?
@@ElectricGlowSkull Yes they are not lying it was a REAL gun not a blank prop gun which they could have used.
@ElectricGlowSkull if he is lying then explain how a woman was shot by a live round.
This man was put in a terrible situation, like a car accident it was unintentionally done. If someone dies in a car ACCIDENT they aren't criminals, this is why we have insurance
What happened to Alex is the gun literally "went off half cocked". Pulling back the hammer without completely latching the hammer to the trigger results in a situation where if the hammer should slip out from under the thumb, the hammer can strike the bullet with enough force without the trigger being pulled to cause the gun to fire. Yes, it can "go off half cocked". This is the situation that this little saying comes from. This is exactly what happened to Alex. But who allowed live ammo on the set? Hmmm.... The armorer? Alex properly hired the armorer to handle this stuff, and create a safe working environment. The armorer failed in this task. For Alex, aquit, aquit, aquit. The armorer is a lady who doesn't have a lot of money, Alex does. The lawyers are trying their best to pin this on Alex because Alex has money not because he did anything wrong. He didn't. Sorry lawyers, there's not much money to be had here. It has become all about the money, not the justice.
Nope. Alec Baldwin is an actor that had handled firearms on previous productions and should know how to check a firearm on set and recognize the difference between blanks and live ammo.
@@lawrencemason9091we get it bro your a conservative and you don’t like him because he’s a liberal… get over yourself
@chuckwheeler6298 has nothing to do with politics, has everything to do with safety around a significant hazard and taking responsibility.
This is the single best explanation I've seen. I've thought about it and this makes complete sense
@@lawrencemason9091you are basically saying that because he's handled a gun before he's an expert... Most people can ride a bike. But they didn't learn after using it once. Get it?
Just so everyone knows. Multiple media outlets have reported that these clips were BEFORE the fatal shooting.
And yes baldwin did complete the film almost 2 years later, these clips were not from after.
This supports his caution as a rule
Propaganda. He’s also on tape rushing, screaming that the gun should have been loaded twice already. 😂
Looks like Baldwin was playing at producer and had zero idea what he was doing.
Wrong he knew
You mean director.
Are all actors, who use firearms in films, require to attend real firearms safety course?
100000000000000000000000000% the armorers fault. Baldwin shouldn’t have caught the hate he did for this at least.
I agree, these people are gun gun safety number one rule is to check your firearm.
This guy is an actor not a trained specialist, It was absolutely the armorers fault
Except Alec Baldwin is a notorious peice of crap and has a horrible temper. He's just a bad person.
Just because he seems strict about safety at one point in time doesn’t mean he was the same when he killed the cinematographer. Irrelevant video.
Nice propaganda piece.
Let's show video of drunk drivers driving safely when not drunk to show it wasn't negligence
Isn’t that the point . Who’s to say that you’re not a better driver after 1 beer or maybe 4 beers . That’s why a detection of .08 in your blood can be reached to say you’re impaired. While that may take people a few or less drinks it’s based solely on that persons consumption and other various things to them. Here we are shown an actor using a gun under supervision. Who are we to know he has any real life experience or knowledge with gun safety . Or even me who’s to say I know CZcamss rules of thumb by heart.
what an idiotic thing to say
You MAGA guys are creepy. Dude does one impression of Trump and you foam at the mouth hoping to nail him over anything.
I’m not a Baldwin fan at all but to blame him for that shooting is ludicrous.

This guy definitely paid off some judges
Whoever brought LIVE AMMO on to the MOVIE SET is ultimately RESPONSIBLE 😮
CAUSE AND EFFECT.
Prop guns don’t fire blanks or indeed anything 😊
It sounds like Alec is in complete control. Not how he described it in interview.
And?
This is after the shooting
did his trump impersonations trigger you that bad yakub?
show us!, the whole crew?, drinking/ shooting cans!, just before all this happened?.
Who is this camera dude and was this filmed before or after the incident ?
When was this filmed?
after the fact when they finished the film
Where does he shoot the camera woman?
Seems awfully worried about everyone's safety I don't think he's ever acted like this in any other movie. Seems a bit strange. Investigators are probably looking at behind the scenes of past films to see if it is a practiced behavior or a natural behavior that he's had for years.
There is something to this story that hasnt looked at !🤔
How is Alec even being charged with a crime isn't the set director or prop department at fault?
For breaking basically every rule of firearm safety after failing to inspect the ammunition he was firing.
@@no-sway3709that’s actually incorrect, he has a few paid employees to constantly check if the gun is loaded or not. “Hot” or “cold” gun. The reason he is in trouble is because he is a producer for the film, meaning he is financing the film which makes him the boss of everyone on set. In a way it’s the boss’s fault for not implementing complete safety standards or that he signed off on whatever standards they were using
@vaati9364 wrong. He did not inspect the firearm before pointing it at a human and pulling the trigger. You cannot delegate that responsibility to someone else if you are the one pulling the trigger.
@@no-sway3709 if what you say is true. Then a lot of Hollywood actors would be in the wrong then. So you can better understand the situation I would recommend looking up Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and David Halls and how the armorer modified the gun and how the assistant director inspected it
Because he's an azwhole?
Only a replica blank firing prop should be on set, not a gun capable of firing live rounds, which they did use for fun outside of filming. That blank gun is still lethal but at close distances.
YOU pull the trigger….YOU are responsible….unless you’re a rich actor.
The edge
In every case his concern is for others.
That was my take away too. It is obvious, he has no intention of anyone getting hurt, especially by him!
tyhis was filmed after the death
I can 100% guarantee this is a publicity stunt to save alecs career.
I would have to say by now the timing is a little suspect to try to come back and say you were safety conscious after the fact of shooting somebody dead by accident
How is possible that a real gun is in the set? This is so wrong.
Alec Baldwin & jean Claude van Damme my favorite actors
Is this the footage that's is supposd to be the reason why they are recharging him again cuz this don't look bad
Show the full thing. Seems a convenient edit for your friend.
Wow i guess bet that guilty.
The only thing is blame him for is going on a talk show tour and acting arrogant. However it is 100% the set armorers fault.
Wait, so its not the guns fault this time?
Depends what agenda you are trying to paint.
OK my pin might be slightly controversial but I believe it's both the armorers fault and his fault as well as anyone on production who was also in charge of handling said weapon.
Someone sabotaged him
This was probably made after the accident
They were live rounds every single day.
He’s innocent!
Why is he innocent?
@@15Hours_ago he never put real bullets in the gun with intent on harming anyone! Whoever loaded the gun is to blame!
Was probably filmed last week. Just for court
Exactly… Who is the cameraman? Why is he all covered up? Why just surfacing now after all this time? Seems like if Alex had knowledge of this footage existing it would have been circulating all over before just now. Makes you want to go Hmmm 🤔

He still killed a person.
Propaganda
Larry.
Maybe he should have learned how to handle a gun. Or used common sense.
Doesnt matter if he yad shown some people concern or that the armorer messed up, you should always doubke check a gun youre handed and exercise trigger discipline and muzzle direction even if its a BB gun
There should never even be live rounds on a movie set to begin with
So lemme ask is he supposed to fire a round off before every cut cause unless he's firing all five he would have no way of knowing which round is not a dud they look identical 😕
Not his fault
Now he cares about human safety???
You now it most of change him
Straight uo aid I dint want to shoot towards you he knew how to handle that gun safe
It’s weird how he was worried about the safety of the camera person in this shot but obviously not in the other one when she got shot. Kind of makes me think like he may have done that on purpose. Especially knowing the connections that The victims family has.
He knew it was loaded
Alec Baldwin shot and killed Helyna Hutchins. It doesn't matter how much you try to justify it, or make it better. He pointed the gun and pulled the trigger. The armorer most definitely shares the blame, but ALEC BALDWIN pulled the hammer back, killed a woman, and was never even prosecuted. He should be charged with accidental manslaughter.
Lol
On a set where they have him use real guns... why there was ever live rounds on set is all on the armorer... think a lil
He wasn’t playing with a gun, he was acting out a scene in a paid position for a movie, in terms of pulling the trigger, that’s 100% exactly what he was suppose to do! The negligence comes to his role as a producer and lack of oversight for the armorer.
@@Xargoit was not in his role to hire the armorer, yet further was not his job to act as armorer.
@@Xargo Rule #1. NEVER point a gun at a living person. That is literally rule #1. That rule applies to real ammunition, and fake ammunition. Raw footage with neither victim showing up it, the clip leads one to believe that it could have been made when they went to finish filming. Way to convenient for his "safety" remarks to all of a sudden show up. He would have been screaming for this to be released from the very beginning of the case. Its a cheap theatrical play from Baldwin.
So clever aren't ya? Too bad TMZ posted the full video within days of the shooting which has Alec and Halyna speaking to one another in it.

Name me 1 basic gun safety tip he broke in this video. Let me see it. Cause last I checked he audibly confirmed to cast where he was going to shoot and said "I don't want to shoot towards you'. #2 he also even said he wants the crew to take the SAFEST path and nicest path to minimize fall risk.
