Interviewed shortly after its release, Aurora said about this song:
"There's a lot of beauty in this world. And there's a lot of ugly. I was surprised to learn how often the ugly is disguised as beauty. How often poison is disguised as wine. And life disguised as death. And when we learn that what we thought was good for us, is in fact bad for us - even then we tend to go return to it. Because at least it's familiar. And all we ever dream about is home. Seductive, yet destructive. A dangerous thing indeed."

I would be hard pressed to find a better description of being in an abusive relationship than "I keep on losing feathers". That line hits me so hard. And I think this may be my favorite song from the new album so far. Bearing in mind that they are all 10/10 songs, so that doesn't really say so much.

Her words have true meaning in each of her songs, it's unbelievable how it just makes sense into real life, connecting to us humans.

Although Aurora is one of my favorite artists, I will admit that I don't get most of her songs on first listen, but they grow on my over time. But Dangerous thing just snapped with my the moment I heard it, and it's already my favorite son of all time. Definitely the colmination of everything I live about her!

I'm wondering with Aurora if she is singing as Mother Earth again (like in soulless creatures) and we, the humans are the dangerous things. . It's hard to tell with Aurora. She does love to use symbolism and metaphors, but I'm not sure yet if that is what she's saying. Either way, it's a terrific song. I would expect nothing less.

For me, she's speaking to the duplicitous nature of some people, how we can be deceived by forgetting that we only see what people show us, and that can be very different from what they are, especially if they want something, and especially if that something is our caring devotion. It's almost a bit cynical, this song, duplicitous in itself with that hard thought wrapped in the calm beautiful tones that Aurora weaves so well with her voice and production style. But I take it more as a warning, from someone who's been through it. Just a reminder to be aware of how some people can be. Enjoyed this. Catch you on the next one.

I actually think it's kind of about social media and our addiction to our damn phones, but it's great that a song can have such different interpretations. I'm probably wrong with my particular interpretation but it belongs to all of us now so read into it how you would like to.

Another great song but also reaction. Love your reflections! Thank you! I would love to have reactions to two unreleased songs; My heart is a storm and Crystalline. Haven’t seen any reactions to them but love both. :-)

I am currently in love with Everything Matters :). But love this song too - it is a little more mainstream (that it is why it will have more listens than Everything Matters) and for me it has some country music influence. Of course as usual Aurora voice is incredible:). Both songs are very strong new songs - Everything Matters is even in my top favorite Aurora songs (at last in this moment)

“A Dangerous Thing” leans on the notion of self-awareness within a realm that disguises a cold and abusive relationship as something actually warm and appealing.

When you smile, my world brightens up, when you look sad, it rains, when you laugh i feel light, when you are serious i become somber, when you joke I become like a child. Mother of earth, you are my Queen, sweet Aurora :-)

All her songs on her upcoming album (The Gods We Can Touch) are connected to a Greek God/Goddess. This one belongs to Peitho, the Goddess of seduction and persuasion.

Love this but there is some elements from some of her other songs, the beginning reminds of Rasputin and some parts have the Midas touch hooks but it doesn’t take away the fact that’s a great track.❤️

I thought the same! And if it's about Everything Matters I feel like she sings about Sun and Universe. Rocket on the sky. Part of the dawn and morning. Atom and a star. All the atoms have their beginning inside the stars. Watching storm as it turns into form. Like our universe was just a dust, literally. And then it started to twist and that's how galaxies started to exist 😁
