Thank you for posting this trip, Eric. I'm doing this route starting this Sunday (Tamarack > Yosemite Creek > Tamarack) and will probably be my last 2023 trip in the Sierra.
Thanks for posting your adventure! Was your entry trailhead Tamarack Creek? I have that as my entry trailhead and just want to make sure. I guess I'll have to walk about three miles from Tioga Road then; hopefully I'll catch a ride by some fellow hiker
Camping on top of El Capitan is allowed, but you cannot camp atop Half Dome. Here's the NPS website for wilderness regulations: www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/wildregs.htm#:~:text=You%20must%20camp%20at%20least,Fork%20of%20the%20Tuolumne%20River.

I hate crowds..It's more enjoyable when there is few or no people. Love Yosemite. 🥰
