  • Red Ironbark sinks in water! It's an extremely dense and durable hardwood from eastern Australia. The color is absolutely stunning. Check out the process of milling this beautiful species on our custom wood-mizer sawmill. Woodworkers will love the huge slabs produced and woodturners will really love the bowl blanks available for sale from this massive log. The glassy polish produced when working this species is just amazing. Once again, our wood specialist, Chris Cook, takes you behind the scenes and shows you just what it takes to turn raw logs into great products for woodworkers.

It is a beautiful timber. May be all eucalypts but there is a big difference between the our Australian Redgums and the Ironbarks usually in hardness. The next level up in hardness are our Ironwoods and Boxes.
You’ll have to come over to Aus when the IWCS (International Wood Collectors Society) have a big meet here in Aus. There are so many more species I’m sure you’d be interested in. You just missed one at Tamborine Queensland but there will be more.
    Keep up the good work

Hey, I hope you’re doing well.
Make more videos. It takes CZcams a while to figure out who your audience is. Once it does you’ll get the views you deserve.
    Your production quality is great.

Hey Cook Woods, will you be creating any new videos again? I really hope that you do.
Your entire lumbermill setup, from the variety of incredible wood on hand to Slabzilla, is one of the coolest things I've seen. And your videos showcase it all in a very informative, entertaining, and family-oriented way.
Again, I really hope more videos are to come. I'm looking forward to it!

I have noticed with the exotic logs that they are not sealed at the ends and there is usually some checking, does that cause problems at all?
