    Great real world review. If that thing can survive your farm it can survive any! Of course I mean that as a compliment! Anxious to see your spear modification

    Great review! Not a lot of detailed reviews from users available, appreciate what you’ve given us. Just bought the New Holland 55. As you pointed out, Very few differences between the LS and NH.

    Glad you are happy with the tractor. Nothing worse than buying something new and not be happy with it. To hear it was easy to service, that’s unusual these days.

  • @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin

    Nice review!
    Most loaders, depending on size of tractor of course.. have a bucket pin hight of about 9'.. out old Massey 175 with the 200 loader, and the skid steer are both 9'. I had a spear for the skid steer that I made like you are talking.. it has since been butchered to make other things.. I just used receiver hitch tubing mounted on an angel off the backing plate. Was probably 30 to 40° angel. Worked great for the extra hight and reach! I could unload semi (2 full layers)
    From one side. I think I had a 20 or 24" cylinder on it..

    That's one thing i've noticed from tractor to tractor is some have better protection underneath... for what you plan to do with will be a great addon, looks really easy to mount with that loader from underneath. That sucker sure sticks down low. Longer wiper blades should work.

    Good honest review Brad! I agree with the hesitation on the hydro for "field work" but for loader work, hydro's have been well proven.

  • @TAHDAHFarm
    @TAHDAHFarm Před 2 lety

    I love having the hydrostat on the small tractors like what you have but you loss a lot of hp compared to a gear transmission. But the hydrostat are nice to have. Exspeily when it is tied together with the speed and rpm.

    Looks & sounds like a pretty good Lil' Tractor. I tend to agree with your thoughts/concerns about doing heavy pulls with loaded wagons & excessive running in a field situation. That's a good tip about the New Holland & LS tractors having interchangeable parts between them. 👍🏻 I can't believe your wife let you put her tractor on CZcams with it being that dirty. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing your review. 👍🏻 Take care.

    Just purchased a 357, so far I love it. Made a jib boom attachment to set trusses for a new garage, don't expect any problems but I hope you consider how much your extension will change the geometry and lift capacity of the tractor and loader, could possibly be dangerous. Good luck.

    The mt573 has the best wiper design out of any tractor brand I’ve seen, front and rear.
    I agree the mt3 would be all around solid if the wipers where done like the mt5 and the loader had more lift height. Always a couple little things to improve.

    The New Holland Boomer 50 loader lifts to 109 inches at the pin whereas the LS lifts to 94 inches, but it lifts 300 pounds more, 2400 for the New Holland and 2700 for the LS. The base tractors are basically identical. I have very hilly pastures and I don't like the hydro going downhill. I have smaller geared tractor and it just holds its speed while I have to ride the brakes on the New Holland

    Overall, it seems like a solid tractor. I really enjoy having our 45hp hydro around for odd jobs. Do you have to drain both oil drain plugs? On my New Holland I have to because the driveshaft to the front axle runs through the oil pan.

    • @larsonvalleyfarm

    Is the hydro electronic or manual linkage? .....When Clint bought the 5045E He didn't realize that it would eventually be used to load bundles inside trailers,,,,,, We use a ramp to load instead of pushing because it aids the Store Techs breaking down the bundles...in other words they bust less bales..

    • @larsonvalleyfarm

      @@larsonvalleyfarm The reason I asked is because we have a JD 110 TLB.... that uses pot switches on the pedals to control the forward-reverse valve..... For the first couple of years.... no problem...... then suddenly it wouldn't reverse.....Trip to dealer and $2000.00 later it would...... good for about 2 years... then it wouldn't move in either direction.....back to the dealer, you guessed it another $2000.00...... it is presently sitting...... won;t move... this time it will leave for good!.... So I am leary of anything with electro- hydro-static.......

    Maybe you can get a longer rear wiper blade and cut one end to make it fit? Yes, that front blade just sitting in the middle of the windshield would be annoying. They need to use a larger blade and move it over to the side like the Tesla cyber truck although I think it looks like shit on the cyber truck but it’s not resting in the middle of the windshield blocking your view When you’re not using it. How you like the tires compared to AG tread? You sell the 4020 yet? I’m looking for something in the 30 to 40 hp range definitely with a cab. Any pointers or tips would be appreciated. Great video thank you.

    What is the top speed in medium range?
    I m looking to possibly get the mt3 57 for loader work, offset flail mowing my fence lines, raking and tedding hay, moving bales ect.
    I have the mt5 73. And run a new idea 5209 Discbine and looking to get a 4x5 Vermeer signature baler for it. 1600 hours in two years bought from Ridgeland too. Nice tractors good service.
    Also how do you think the mt3 will work for loading a lime spreader up nice and full. overall height of the spreader is 72”

    • @larsonvalleyfarm
      @larsonvalleyfarm  Před 5 měsíci

      Not very fast! But if you run full throttle it seems to be relatively fast in mid range. Especially for loader work.

    • @larsonvalleyfarm
      @larsonvalleyfarm  Před 5 měsíci

      Loading lime into a 6 foot tall spreader might be a challenge. Middle range isn't very fast, but seems about right for loader work. Moving bales, raking, etc I run in hi unless it's a hilly field.
