He's a humble guy, got mad respect for him. I feel like out of all the wu mcs he's got the most artistic integrity imo. That's no disrespect for the other cats, they're all amazing it's just GZA seems like he cares the most about his artistic legacy and not MTV cribs bullshit.

Gza has the second highest vocabulary in lyrics of any rapper besides Aesop Rock. There was an interesting study on it. They used 25,ooo words from 100 rappers, Aesop was so far ahead of everyone he was actually moved back so he could fit inside the chart. Gza was second followed by 5 other wu tang members in the top ten. Del, jedi mind tricks, and sage francis were also top ten.

just google "rap vocabulary". There were two different studies. The original, then they added about 35 more rappers to the second study. I also found a ridiculous study saying Eminem has the highest hiphop vocabulary, but the method by which his lyrics were measured was the most flawed ridiculous thing Ive ever seen. They only measured his instances of his highest vocabulary within every song as opposed to all his lyrics. In that sense whoever you measure would win. They must have been Eminem fan boys. He lyrics don't come close to anyone in the top ten. In the original study he is only slightly above average of everyone measured.

I thought MF Doom came out as top guy? Although he isn’t my style and he sounds off a lot with how he uses he’s world to fit in but still his vocab is massive.

Wow this is my first time seeing this video.I used to frequent the Chess Forum, and I'm also a chess player.I follow Chess Forum on Instagram and I remember somebody who works there said that GZA has been there and purchased chess sets but this video is confirmation of that.
Plus new U-God, new Ghostface, new Deck, new Wu-Tang Clan. Jeez, I'm starting to believe in this 360 degrees concept, they're really rounding things up to put it that way. The Wu is simply more than music, it's epic. They've gone through a lot of drama and struggling etc

@Fuchsia: It's because this is just a bs marketing video. He's not actually playing chess. They're not actually showing him play some decent level chess. And we all know the world of hiphop is all make-believe anyway. The guy is not actually a genius. He doesn't actually have a degree in quantum physics. The dude dropped out of school at age 10 for crying out loud. There's no way he magically got a degree. And while he doesn't say he's very good at chess necessarily, it's really all just part of wanting to be seen as smart. Don't be surprised if his IQ is about as average as it gets. You know, on par with someone like Eminem. Certainly not dumb, but definitely not smart.

Chess fascinates me, and so do the people who uphold it and esteem it. To me it represents "civilization" itself, which makes me skeptical of the whole thing,but respectful and cautious cause i'm really not smart enough to debunk it entirely.My intuition tells me 'black' folks in the city are attracted to it because of the sort of Stockholm syndrome victim/oppresor mentality that rules a lot of said peoples minds. Sort of like a lot of black power people's 'obsession' with Egypt..........
