    Andrew, thank you for purchasing Canadian products such as n&n trailer and Eastonmade splitter. Pretty much close to me.

    I have a Toyota Tundra but I’d never say it’s better than my 3 F-250’s with the 7.3L powerstroke’s. All three have way over 500K miles and I pull tractors, skid steers, pull dump trailers with tree debris loads everyday all day. The Stihl 500i is probably the best all around saw for buckin wood by far. The power to weight ratio is about as perfect as can be for anyone who wants to not deal with lower back issues and fatigue by not needing to bend over snd cut through the roof quickly.
    I’ve been working with Eastonmade to get a log splitter from them.

    I bought an old used Supersplit kinetic splitter a couple years ago. Started selling wood with my boys (cash for them, hobby for me). Super split is awesome for me since I can load it into my pickup and it works really well for me. It will struggle with the big ugly pieces some. From 6:52 to 7:25 I was a little worried that your black lab was going to go after that rat next to the house and get bit by the tip of your chainsaw as you were cutting. He started to go after him and that got your attention for a second and you looked at him. Not sure if that has been brought to your attention. BTW great video!!!!! Good info Chris. I wish I had bought a trailer and tractor before I retired. On a teacher's retirement, itt is out of reach.The big saws are nice I used to have a Jonsered 910 when I was younger, with most people it is the price. i used to make people go WOW when I used it on big stuff. It really speeds up whatever you are doing. I can't use the big ones anymore. Most of my cutting is done with a 50cc. I miss the big saws. I had 3 Toyota Tundras, awesome trucks. I got broad sided last year in my 2006 that I bought new. I was hit on my door by a dodge minivan doing 65 mph. 15 broken ribs. I went to buy a new one and was blown away by the price. I paid 26 for the one I had, new ones are 80. Had to buy a Tacoma and really couldn't afford that. Miss my Tundra

Is tje price ya pay to get a log out of the way. Sharp chain to dull as a popcorn fart in seconds. Resharp, dull as a popcorn fart just as fast. Gives a wood hound stories to tell when they can't cut wood anymore.

      Having been a long time subscriber to Chris’s channel, Chris has slowly grown to where he is at. If you get a chance, go way back in his early videos and you can see everything he talked about. The old trailer, the Glacier (I personally have the same splitter) as well as some of the wood gathering Chris has done. Chris speaks from experience. Took a while for him to get to the point he is at but he also is a down to earth guy, honest, and tells and shows it how it really is. A true gem and treasure trove of information from a business side as well as what works and what does not work. 👍🏻

    Price wise I wonder how an all aluminum trailer would compare to the galvanized and how it would hold up compared to the galvanized. Got to be lighter and keep under weight limits especially in a area where D.O.T. is strictly enforced. Like alot of those truckers that switched to aluminum trailers to stay under weight with bigger loads.

      I did a video about them last summer. They are very very nice but they have 2 problems....1- They cost twice as much 2- they can not hold op to they pounding of hard heavy materials without cracking...often the welds.. I have talked to people who know.

    Got 356k out of my 2002 Tundra. Was still in excellent condition. Sold it to a young guy who run it for a year then blew it up. Made me mad.

    Stick with the Toyota! They are overbuilt for a "half ton" pickup. Everyone I know that has had them loves the Tundra.

    There’s no need for a bigger truck if you’re not hauling the weight that’s required for a bigger truck.

    • @InTheWoodyard
      @InTheWoodyard  Před 7 měsíci +1

      It depends on the kind of wood....mixed hardwood $60-80 if close to the job and $100-110 for most of it...hard maple, oak, locust, beech, ironwood,birch.... Hickory and cherry $130
