Wonderful. Who needs an adrenaline rush when a newly found 2000 year old coin can make our day? Even from a comfy arm chair, seeing such a think really does pick the spirits up.
A theme of "round things" developed this time. In a way, I was hoping that the mysterious find was a cart wheel. They really are coins a character, and desire. I don't have one, and don't want to go and by one either. Would be nice to have, but better to have one I found.. And again, I won't by it.
Love watching you getting out there and then sharing the joy with everyone else. Thank you for doing that. Be well. TTFN

Such beautiful massive coins!! 😂 I think our Roman was certainly trying to give the cartwheel a run for its money! Glad the excitement was shared by those watching!! A lovely dig for us 🥰

I would like to share with you a story,regarding my metal detecting efforts here in Lorain Ohio,USA.
The detecting is disastrous! I find loads of crumpled up aluminum (aluminium😂) foil,beer cans,and tons of lead fishing weights.
And here’s the thing,and I just WhatsApped Nicola White this story.
So,I am constantly being approached by heroin addicts,asking for money.
My city is a plague of drug addiction.
And you know what?
These poor souls,they are so very sweet,they are!
I met a guy named Jeremy,he was skin and bones,younger than my 52 years,but looked decades older than me.
He was a funny guy,who loves to tell jokes!
These were very crude jokes,I shall not repeat them.
But we had a good laugh,and we parted ways.
I suspect that I shall never see Jeremy again,he was clearly close to the end.
In a tragic,bittersweet way,I found treasure 😌
I think the amazing thing about this hobby is it’s ability to connect with people. Not every day you find much or anything! But you might meet an interesting person on your adventures. Share a tale or show your days efforts. Addiction is a horrible fate, but they’re just people with stories too, I’m sure Jeremy appreciated taking the time to listen. ❤️
Yes,sometimes meeting the people makes the adventure,or more specifically,it makes one ponder life,and it’s possibilities,the events in one’s life,that can take you on a variety of paths.

looks like what remains of a lead or pewter casting sprue you can see it is formed in to half by the fine lines maybe from musket shot or bullet molds or it could be a duck on a small puddle missing its head lol
