- In this video, I will show you how easy it is to install a seat swivel in a Ram Promaster. The seat swivel installs the same on both the drivers side and passenger side and is the same for my 2014 and the 2017 that we used here so I assume they are the same for all model years.
This swivel came from Swivels R Us: www.swivelsrus.com/transit_swi...

Thanks for the video. We just installed the 2" lower seat bases and the swivels on both the driver and passenger seats today. It was painless! Super helpful video. A lot easier than me trying to convince my husband that we can do this ourselves!
I'm glad it helped!
Where did you get your lower bases?

Hello - We are looking to add swivels to our Promaster. I think Swivelsrus sell a different one than those on discountvantruck.com. How do you like yours? Are they super easy to swivel?
@@thepandemicdiva3369 easy install. no problems. I love having the swivels and the lower seat bases
Thanks for the great video, my swivelrus arrived today!! Got it completely installed in about 90 minutes, thanks to your video!! I have a 2020 Transit and there is an airbag shutoff in the glove. The only issue I had was one of the holes didn't align up so I used a step up drill bit and made the hole a little bigger. I also had to cut off the handle at the back of the seat frame so it would spin, I was going to grind it but I decided a hacksaw would make less of a mess. That seat spins really smooth!!
Thanks for the message and appreciation bjbhehir! I'm happy our video helped you out!
Great video!! How long did shipping take? :)
i see a swivel seat in my future!! Excellent video Jimmy!!
I got you covered!
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Your voice sounds like the 'honey badger' voice over:)) my fave vid of alllll time.
Haha, We are glad we can provide some humor to your day! Thanks for watching 😁👍🏼
That was well done and succinct. My kind of how to do it vid. Thanks for taking the time. Also enjoyed you guys being goofballs. Keep em coming. Look forward to seeing your other vids. am new subscriber. ;D
Thanks for the comment and appreciation! I'm glad you enjoyed the humor. That's how we roll at the shop too!
Buen vídeo, gracias.
thank you...that was good....I will remember you are the inventor of the quarter driver
Hahahaha! Thanks Jack!
Thanks guys! 👍
super helpful. thanks guys
Sure thing! Glad we could help 😊
ALWAYS disconnect the negative side!!! Hence the quick release..... energy flows from positive to negative in DC.
I tried a swivel on my 04Savana drivers seat but no can do, the seat seems to big and hits the steering wheel and wall just behind it and door preventing turn around. GMC has the fuse box under the seat too. Ended up returning it to Seats4 I think was name of company. The passenger seat swivel looked identical and was able make it work although needing to open door to get it turned around. They sell swivel for OEM and other for GMC. Why can’t I get it to turn around?
Hi Paul. Thanks for the message. This video is for the Promaster specifically. I don't have any experience with swivels on GMC's. I only work with Promaster, Sprinter, and Transit vans. Good luck!
Did the radio need the security code once battery was reconnected?
Not on this one, however, I think he upgraded to an aftermarket stereo. I'm not sure. Sorry.
We need a link for that special quarter tool
2014 is the Fiat style. I have 136" HR PM
Hi, Thanks for your videos. Do you know if it is possible to swivel the seat with a passanger dubble seat beside?
I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. If you are asking if you have the double passenger seat, I would assume that you cannot but that is a total assumption and I'm really not sure at all.
Which base is this? How much, where did u get it?
How was driving it with the extra height in the chair
We made a video answering this question.
Levity Vans link?

how much for the seat swivel?
Anyone know where to buy back seats?
Sorry I didn't see your comment. Are you still looking for seats? Feel free to reach out directly at contact@levityvans.com.
Great video, thanks!! I have a dumb question - do these swivel a full 180 so the seat is facing the back of the van? I can't imagine they wouldn't because what would be the point, right? ;) But I just wanna check before I order. Thank you for the video!!
They absolutely spin even more than 180°. You could do many circles in them if it wasn't for wiring running through it that would get twisted up. Happy install you you and thanks for the question 😊
@@LevityVans awesome, thank you so much for the reply!!! :)
Hi & thanks for the video ! how did you solve the issue with the Airbag light after changing the seat ?? Greetings from Germany
You're welcome 😀 There shouldn't be an airbag light if you reconnected the airbag wires. It's important to disconnect them and reconnect them while the battery is disconnected.
@@LevityVans unfortunately there is an airbag light on in my van by changing the double sit for a single sit ,,,,
@@carlosferreragarcia5912 Gotcha. That may require I bit more troubleshooting. You could see if your dealer can turn off the middle seat sensor. I'm assuming the computer is recognizing that the middle is not working but there is no more seat so there's not many ways to make it work. You could probably wire it up in a way that the computer would recognize that the seat and airbag are connected but it requires knowing the schematics and adding the appropriate resistors. That's not something I can tell you how to do, unfortunately. I'm not sure I can be much help here, sorry.
@@LevityVans Thanks for your help !!!
Do you have to disconnect battery for passenger side?
Yes! The reason you need to disconnect the battery is because you need to disconnect the airbag wire. It's unlikely that something would spark, but it sometimes does. If your airbag wire would hit something that it wasn't supposed to, your airbag could deploy which would not only be a costly fix but could also cause serious injury. Please disconnect it. It's not that hard.
Great video!!! Brand of the swivel?. Where we can buy this?
The airbags run of about 3 ohms. Will be no sparks when you connect or disconnect. But always is better to unplug the battery.
did you get the answer on brand and where to buy
Sorry for the delay. I missed your message. You can purchase these swivels from swivelsrus.com. If you have other questions, feel free to reach out directly at contact@levityvans.com. About the air bags, I work next door to an automotive shop and have heard stories about static electricity causing the spark that sets off the air bag. I've never talked to someone that it happened to directly but I'm not taking any chances 😬
Sorry guys , where can I bus these Devise. Thks.
Best regards.
So sorry I missed your comment. I'm sure you have swivels by now but these ones can be obtained from swivelsrus.com.
Not sure what is happening at 7:19. The video keeps hanging and not able to get any further. Tried multiple devices on wifi and network. Odd. Good up to that point though!
yea, I even tried from work..no luck. Very odd.
FIXED!! :-)
Thanks. very smart mod! Looks easy. Should be a standard feature in these vans IMO...
Since interior space is at a premium @2:12 There seems to be so much space in the battery tray. I wonder if you could squeeze a 19 inch Smart Battery 300AH LifePO4 Dual purpose starter & house battery www.lithiumion-batteries.com/products/12v-300ah-lithium-ion-battery/, an MPPT charge controller and a 2000 Watt Inverter in there?
I haven't measured but there is a possibility of fitting that battery in there. I don't think the tray is 19" long like the specs say. You're definitely not fitting much more than the battery though. The picture makes it look much bigger than it is. My suggestion, however, is to spend money on a house battery that is separate from the starter battery. Even if you have a super beefy starter battery, you still want it disconnected while your car is off. Seems dangerous to use the starter battery to power all your things in case you actually did run out of juice. Thanks for the comment and the suggestion!
I would add some grease.
Turn up brightness. Can barely see
Hahahaha. Sorry. Had some lighting difficulties. I hope you figured it out anyway.
Levity Vans I’m kidding . Great video. Thank you! However I would have liked to see more of you actually swiveling the chair. I’m wondering if this one works better than others based off how easily it swivels and how well it locks into place
Bro, can we see the seat working? Geez.....no follow through....
The person that owned the van we worked on moved out so we no longer have the van. Wish we could though.
Lol, you should have stopped the timer when you were talking with no work. : )
The timer was more for fun and to give an average. It was a really quick install though...
