This is exactly why we say "never give them an inch"... this level profiling has always happened, but I don't think it's ever been out in the open like it is now. It's wrong to just assume guilt because someone put a logo on their car. What's next? Aftermarket exhaust means you're a suspect? Tinting any of your windows? It's a bad look for the police to be openly casting negative light on owners just because the logo.

Work for usps had a cop follow me for 6 miles. He even pulled into our lot, stopped me walking into the building, and told me that they're watching me. Happened 4 or 5 days ago, smh

In many states any modification to a car is illegal. Cops just don’t enforce most of those laws.
If only there were technology that police could quickly use to scan a license plate and see if it was stolen and simply move on, leaving the owner unbothered.

You must be slow? You realize thieves ain't leaving the stolen license plate on the vehicle right? Also they go as far to swap every visible and some times non visible VIN number plates. Ever heard of chop shops, that's what they do, they replace Vin numbers on stolen cars so it doesn't seem stolen anymore.
Dallas has that system, all you have to do is pass the vehicle. The vehicles scan every car

It’s a good thing ! If they crack down on checking to see if we own our cars, less thieves will be inclined to steal them
Sounds good on the surface but if you get stopped they’re going to be giving you a ticket for something even if they have to make something up. They’re not just going to say “hey brother just checking to see if you own this car! Been a lot of thefts around here lately!”
And insurance cost will go down ffs

I don't know what kind of country-bumpkin, behind the times department this is, but in my area there are plenty of Mopars with big decals. 90% of them are not stolen. Plus, now that you've announced you're looking for cars with the big decals, they're just gonna stop doing the decals on them.

lol I have cops pull up around me quite often when I drive my car...they're probably running the plates. But you know I don't really mind because having it being shown that cops are looking at these cars closer might deter thieves from stealing them as often.

lol, I had the same thing with my V6. People would ask me all the time if it was a Hemi or a Hellcat. I now have a widebody Scat Pack, which I can see why people would mistake it for a Hellcat.

I really didn’t even understand the cop. Are they saying thieves steel cars with the side decals or thieves put the decal on? Either way a Dodge with a decal is not more likely to be stolen than one without one. That’s stupid.
This is why I don't drive very popular cars because you have a car that's very popular like those charges and challenges people tend to get out of hand and when they get out of hand that's when the law comes down this is what happens with popularity sometimes this is why I rather drive something nobody cares about or hardly knows they're rather than something that somebody has or everybody has

Police already have license plate scanners in many states....most vehicles that are stolen have all decals and bright wraps....because thieves are not to bright....they run from police and also do that stupid thing called sliding or cutting traffic 😂
I get that the whole point on owning a Hellcat is for people to show it and be noticed. The decals and overbadging the car are just too much. The car itself has the looks, the presence and engine to be differentiated from the other trims.
But truth to be told, 90% of the people out there don't know what's the difference between all the trims. I own an sxt and everyone thinks it's the highest trim. If I were to own a hellcat I would debadge it so only the ones who know would be about to tell.

They had ppl in the dmv that were switching vins for them, so the cars that were sold actually checked out on paper and in the system. That's why they are looking so hard at certain cars. Cuz if they run the plates and vins for a traffic stop they check out. Pretty smart actually 😄 🤣 If it wasn't for their dmv connects this would have all been shut down long ago or probably not even attempted

Those cops know what they’re doing. I lowkey got from that is if you own any mopar add a hellcat decal on it so we can take it more serious in case yours ever gets stolen. If you own any mopar, debadge it and add that decal so then that car does ever get stolen it’ll get tagged if it were gets seen by police. But also you’re risking adding that decal because majority of thieves want to steal hellcats not no SE, SXT, maybe an RT.

Everybody gets harassed this isn't something new for horse power enthusiasts my first muscle car was a 1969 GTO got pulled over daily at one time and spent a night in jail for basically being white on the wrong side of town. It is what it is but I would rather error on the side of caution and have the police pull me over than loose my 60.000 dollar car.

As they should. My charger was stolen from right in frontof my house. I had a V6 it wasnt even a nice model. It was in great condition. The bottom line is its happening to much. I dont even buy Dodges anymore. I get its annoying but something has to be done about the crime associated with these cars. If you get pulled over so they can check if the car is good thats the price you pay for driving 1. I was gonna get a 392. I decided against it.

What other way do they have to determine if the car was stollen; other than targeting those with the decal? If you have a better answer, I'm all ears. If your big cat got stollen and it had the graphics on it. You would want the law looking for you 80-90k ride. I'm just saying. Right in front of the police it is good they caught this POS but we are going to have to live with some inconveniences bottom line is we chose 717 horse power it was choice to be the at top and that's the price you pay to be the king of the mountain plain and simple.

Lol I got pulled over for a plate cover and that lead to them asking whats in my back seat and has anyone else been in the car and a bunch more questions that had nothing to do with my plate cover...after they ran my licence and seen I was lagit was let off with a warning.
