I am a non-white women. I feel unsafe for the color of my skin (which I have no control over) and my gender (which I also don't have control over). I am still a person. I weep at injustice and hurt when others are hurt. I don't see inferiority, I see equality.

@@tracyh.8611 There are definitions of hate speech and incendiary speech that hold up in court. That's how the Charlottesville defendants lost their case a few months ago. They kept saying that everything they were doing that horrible day in 2017 was freedom of expression; the court disagreed with them big time. Hate speech is not free speech.

Every responsible interpretation of the constitution agrees that there are limits on freedom of expression. Hate speech creating a dangerous incendiary situation is a responsible limitation. There seems to be some shared script around right wing circles that hate speech is protected speech, but it is not. Charlottesville case showed that. The defendants were so sad when they lost because it seems that they had been told by their handlers that it would be okay. Enough hate speech. We don't have to live like this. It's not normal. We can decide as a society that enough is enough.
