18lb Atlantic Salmon on the prawn with Barry and Roger -19 6 21

Fishing with two of my buddies Barry and Roger we managed to make contact with 2 atlantic salmon in the classic Broadmeade Pool Hampshire Avon on 19-6-21.
Long trotting the prawn my float disappeared and all hell broke loose as the Leviathan stripped line off the centre pin and headed down stream like a bat out of hell!
I managed to put on the brakes and so he decided to make a U-turn and come at me like a torpedo!
I managed to pick up the slack and follow him upstream with the heavy duty 12ft barbel rod doubled over! .............
5 Minutes later I make contact with another salmon using the same technique. After a head shaking battle he slips into the net and my first fish of the season of 18lbs proves to be an absolute stunner!
My thanks go out to Barry and Roger who helped me with the filming, photos and landing. Great company to share such a magnificent fish in such beautiful surroundings on one of the world's finest chalk streams!

Good morning Paul greenacre , can I just say firstly that I think your videos are fantastic , now I'm not a game angler but I have always relished the chance to catch my very first salmon and feel that power they are so well known for , my preferred method would be to trot prawn on my centerpin and Avon rod ,so my question to you Paul is can that be arranged in within the next couple of years at ibsley bridge doing exactly what you do and the associated cost please Paul ,I would have to arrange it as a few days away as I'm about 300 miles away up in Yorkshire , it's been a lifetime ambition of mine to do something like this and I'm thinking sooner rather than later would be best for myself as I'm still recovering from having a brain tumor removed which has put a stop to my working life and left me with mobility issues but I'm fine with a rod in my hand and catch and successfully handle 20lb carp with ease ,but I do wonder how much longer I'll be able to do this , thanks if you get to read this Paul greenacre 😁👍
