- The Cult of Ulric and Middenland DLC for the Empire is all but guaranteed to come to Total War Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires, and in fact may come as early as this winter with the Thrones of Decay DLC. Let's discuss Boris Todbringer, the Ar-Ulric Emil Valgeir, new Cult of Ulric Empire units like Knights of the White Wolf and Teutogen Guard, and why I believe these will be new legendary lords and new units for Middenland.

I absolutely love that Tom Clark (Yogscast Tom) has become the poster boy Toddy for the Total War community. CA even used him for promotional videos ahead of the Silence and the Fury DLC. He has got to be the voice actor for Toddy!
I want this so much more than Nuln. The theme is the perfect middle ground from Kislev, Norsca and the main Empire.
You forgot that the real thing that separates the Knights Panther from the other orders is the speed of their horses. They brought back the extremely quick arabian warhorses from the crusades and have continued breeding them to ensure their knights will have access to them for generations to come. So while the anti large aesthetic would be fun, them being dedicated to mobility and cycle charging would also be a valid route to take them, or even a combination of the two.
while I do want Toddy eventually, it seems almost obvious that Thrones of Decay will be Elspeth + Tamurkhan + some dwarf. Elspeth is a no brainer as she is the perfect reason to bring everything the empire lacks and needs: elite armored ranged units (nuln ironsides), a ranged & artillery buffing hero (master engineer), and wizard lords. Elspeth being a master wizard from Nuln, she is the perfect character to bring all these things the empire needs together under a single theme all at once. I'd rather not have more cav, more melee infantry, and yet another melee legendary lord for Empire which is what Ulric would bring - those are the last unit types Empire needs right now.

The Empire getting different chains of their religion buildings, like in rome 2 for different bonuses would be a nice touch. A little more variety in settlement building could make the campaign more interesting.
Children of Ulric would be a cool way to give the Empire a monster unit
Though CA will never give us this.... the Empire as a whole needs more flavor, in the lore each region has a different culture, different armors, different colors and banners, different specialties, some are wealthier while some are poor, there are dozens of individual regiments from all over the empire that have their own looks and histories. It’s a shame the same cookie cutter unit has been allowed to represent the whole empire for 3 games, I literally stopped playing WH3 as much because once I have sampled the new factions I always go back to the Empire yet in 3 there are no mods that spice up the look of the empire and I just can’t refuse to play with the original unit models.... I was a fan of warhammer prior to the games and that has hurt my enjoyment I think
I just want to be able to boot up Warhammer 3 and hear "IT'S ME. FUCKING TODDY". Is that too much to ask?
Im hoping they do a ”champions of chaos” DLC for the empire to finish them off. Go heavy knightly orders/ mechanics with their respective units. Spice up the elector count mechanic too
I honestly think that having a Cult of Ulric DLC for the Empire before a DLC that gives the empire even

Nice summary as always. This should really have come with the Beastman DLC when old Toddy should have also been made playable at Middenheim as an alternative to that Sigmar crowd at Altdorf. The Knights of the White Wole and Knights Panther should also have been in the game from the beginning - they have been models for decades after all. Many people enjoy the mod that allows you to play as any of the Elector Counts, whether to become Emperor or just to be a loyal Empire man and defend your County and Empire (or become a Separatist like Marienburg and dare I say Sylvania? Personally I would rather have seen a pure Elector Counts DLC (and bring in the Halflings of the Moot maybe?) but I'll take what I can get.
I disagree with Todbringer & Valgir being in the same faction.
By Ulric, by Sigmar, I would love a Toddy DLC. Especially if they got Tom (yogscast) to voice act it. Holy shit that would be epic.
I would like to see a Champions of Chaos approach to the empire. With Middenheim, Nordland, Hochland and Ostland getting a small reskin to existing units as well as some unique units and unit priests (Ulric, Manann and Taal)
