- In this video I show how I built my dog porch potty. If you are wanting to see a porch potty for dogs DIY video then you came to the right place. When you are porch potty training your dog you will need a nice place for it do go to the bathroom. This porch potty for dogs can be built using simple supplies from your home improvement store. It was important for me to have a dog porch potty with a drain so that there is less clean up. The dog porch potty grass that I used is fake. All of the supplies for this dog porch potty DIY project were easy to find and work with. Some people go all out when making a dog patio potty and I decided that for my dog patio potty system I would keep it simple. The drain on this dog patio potty DIY build is just pond tubing. This porch potty for large dogs or small dogs works great for my golden retriever puppy. I hope that the porch potty assembly instructions that I show in the video are easy to understand. My goal is to give you a general idea of how to build a custom dog porch potty so that you can go build one yourself.

Great work mang! Followed your instructions and built one this past weekend (shrunk to 2 feet by 4 feet due to space, and subbed in real rolled turf), with drainage and everything. Thanks for the video!
Do you have any problems with the drain hose getting clogged with the real turf? Any particles clogging it?
@@willhall7777 Not really. Under the turf is a piece of black drainage cloth (not sure what the proper name for it is), that keeps the dirt particles out.

I'm going to give it a shot. I'll have the "low rent" version. Lol! That's plywood propped up on bricks with an old comforter stapled to it. That should work. 😁😆🤣

I do think I’ll have to change it up a little bit and use more bolts than screws but I’ve been struggling on the mechanics for a while. The slanted plywood was the missing link.

This is the best DIY porch/deck potty I've seen! Thank you for the details and showing instructions on exactly how you built this. I do not have these tools so would have to hire someone to build it for me. My 2 rescues are older, my yard is always muddy so this would work great on my deck. Would be great if you sold a kit to make this potty! I can definitely screw things together, but cutting the wood isn't possible for me.

Thank you for this! I am currently building this for our upcoming puppy, and I would like to stress the idea of CHECKING THE POND LINER AND TUBING BEFORE BUILDING THE REST!!! Although I did exactly what the instructions are shown, the bottom leaked big time because of points of failure in those areas. I had to cut a hole underneath and fish for the problem and ended up having to add more liner underneath the porch and creating new holes, etc. Still waiting for the sealant to dry and hopefully this time it will be water tight.
I'll have to build something like this for the new house I'm leasing, I'll share a video of my results, thanks for this video :)

I like this idea very much. About 1.5 months ago, I purchased an indoor potty that is similar but plastic. I like it OK, but wish I had something better such as what you have built. Truthfully, I'd like it plummed into my sewage drain indoors because I am disabled, and getting outdoors, especially in a New England winter is not helpful to my health...but maybe I can figure out a way...Thank you and many blessings! From me and my 4.5-month-old Golden Retriever. :)

Good Job Sir! Only thing I would suggest, which i'm fairly certain you already figured out, is that you probably shouldn't screw in the turf and then cover the access to the screws with the top board! Also I would recommend a different brand of tools ;) But overall it looks great! gonna be making one myself this weekend, thanks for the pointers

That’s great!!!! We need to figure out something Minnesota I get so cold our dog can’t make it back up the steps from going potty outside. We have to figure out a way to have it set up downstairs but easy to clean no smell.

Very nice tutorial! My daughter paid hundreds of dollars (she is in Europe) for a fake grass about 1/3 the size of yours! The two dachshunds roll around and scratch their back on it, sleep on it, and do their business elsewhere! She’s tried putting potty scent on it. I think it’s probably just too small
