- Wakhi speaker Manizha gives a brief greeting in and statement about the Wakhi language for her fellow speakers.
Recorded by Nazir Abbas for ELA in Khorog, Pamir, Tajikistan. With subtitles in Wakhi and English by Husniya Khujamyorova.
Very beautiful language. I could understand and feel it quite well as a Persian Speaker. Remants of the ancient Saka languages.
LOVE FROM PAKISTAN... I AM wakhi speaker.... I love wakhi 🥰🥰
Very interesting :0 she is so bubbly and bright, it's great.
As an urdu speaker it's amazing how this language is also from my home country
it isnt native ur an indic this is iranic
Wakhi is Iranian, has nothing to do with your Indic Desi languages 👍
As a Pashtun to me this is the closest sounding language to Pashto.
This language reminds me of Dari/farsi more than Pashto (especially the accent and tone)
Pashto, Kurdish, Persian and Wakhi are from the same family of languages.
Pashto and Wakhi both are Eastern Iranian Languages belonging to the larger Iranian group of Languages.
@@zahidahmadzai8023 To be fair, it doesnt sound very much like pashto to me
sound misture of dari pashto turki
Intelligent woman. Last if the Scythians
@Charlie Von Schuman You're literally just wrong
@@rameen7646 Does she look blond lol? Are you blind? They had mostly brown and red hair and looked similar to the woman in this video. I'm not European. Your ethnonationalism is poison
@@danieltabin6470 I was talking about Charlie u idiot.
@@rameen7646 Oh carry on then lol. You @'d me though, so I thought you were a turanist / khazak nationalist who are just as poisonous as nordicists
@@danieltabin6470 Do not forget that Turan is a Persian word
Love from India
From Iran I understand 90%

Is this whole video in Wakhi? Or is she speaking Persian alongside it?
yeah at the start shes speaking farsi
No,the starting is also wakhi but her accent resambles farsi.
@@ghazalaali9191 there is nothing such as farsi accent. Tajik is a dialect of Persian.
Parsi is language that people use to communicate with each other. Starting from 19 century it changed and now people from Tajikistan and people from Uzbekistan will use russian language to communicate but there are still a lot of people speaking parsi especially in Tajikistan I mean pamiri nationals in Tajikistan Afghanistan Pakistan and China
Chez holi in wakhi meanz ?
Who read my msg.
Wakhi language comes from ancient illyrians where now is Albania.Hunza's people are illyrians and they speak the oldest version of my language, albanian language. hunza=hunda=nose. we use it aswell even as it is hunza..simbols,traditions,flag,language,clothes,even the dog which is found in Hunza is found even in alps of albania
My goodness, any wakhi or kalash or such groups video exist, these comments hijacking their heritage come flooding in, tHey aLbAniAn tHey gReeK blah blah. Wakhi is an indo iranian language, part of the larger indo european family.
You're right this are remnants of ancient Albanian people that migrated to central asia 👍
gafch kushrui kui
It sounds like mixture of Persian & Russian.
How do you say in Wakhi: How are you? Good, thank you.
Tuu chrang tay?
How are you?
@@mehmoodazam8491 what does Chez Holi means ?
@@HamzaKhan-hi1jx Chiz holi -"How are you" or to be more exact "how is your health"
Uzm teek, teen-e chiz hol? - I am well, how about you?
@@Zee-yz1de, @Mehmood Azam , which Wakhi is that? I see that Wakhi in Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan differs.
I got something like that from my friend from Afghan Wakhan: "How are you?" as "Cheez all te nan?", "Good, thank you" as "Wuzum be durd".
And from another friend from Afghan Wakhan: "How are you?" as "Surongut", "Good, thank you" as "Baf, qulugh". That seems to be fine as I found crungt - црунгт - t͡srungt̪ - څرؤنگت and қулуғ - quluʁ - quluɣ - قؤلؤغ.
Which version is better? Regarding "Chiz hol he?" I got explanation that is is more like "How do you do?"
@@KartkazpodrozyPlBlog We also use "Cheez all te nan" in Gojal, Gilgit-Baltistan, PK. The difference between "Chiz hol he" and "Cheez all te nan" is the "te nan" part as it mean "yours" .
"Cheez all" and "Chiz hol" are the same thing but we just spelled it differently and it literally means "How's health" and "wuzum bedurd" means " I am good" but it does not have the "Thank you" part.
The word for "thank you" is "Shobosh" and many also use the arabic "Shukarya". Usually we don't say "Thank you" with "I am good" like we do in English or Urdu/hindi.
"Surongut" or as I spell it "tseranget" is just a short form of "How are you" or "what is going on" and you usually say it to friends or an informal situation.
I think in Afghan Wakhi it has been less mixed with surrounding languages or if it has it is usually Farsi words and that is also the case for Wakhi in Tajikistan as well. The Wakhi here in northern Pakistan has some borrowed words from Buroshsaki which is a language that has had close ties with Wakhi for a long time.
Sounds like a mix of Tajik, Georgian and Ossetian
As Ossetian don't understand any word...
Я вам больше скажу, многим жителям Памира тоже не совсем понятен ваханский язык, как и осетинский.

It's an Iranic language. Does not resemble South Asian languages.
@@DigoronKavkaz Pakistan is not just south Asian pashto is also iranic language and so near to wakhi language they are in one family

😂not one care about Wakhi,if wakhi change kalash,it will different😂wakhi people will be referred to by people all over the world as their relatives
What does this even mean lol?, Kalash is nurustani language, wakhi is iranic. They are very different but in appearances they might look similar
