Same! đđ
I lived in FW for 35 years and have never seen or dealt with a Tornado... Lived in CA for 14 years and experienced 3 sizable earthquakes; thankfully none of them were catastrophic. I would take an extremely rare encounter with a tornado over an inevitable earthquake any day of the week. I loved Cali as well but Iâm a Texan and glad to be back home.
@sherry hodges Were you asleep during the 89 SF earthquake or the Northridge earthquake in 94?
The tornado you were talking about that hit FW killed 2 people.
Tornados cut paths earthquakes affect miles and miles of people and property. There are no comparisons between the 2.
Through in Wildfires, droughts and mudslides and it is clear which state deals with more natural disasters. Itâs not even close.
Also, the hail storm you are talking about was in 95 and no people died from the hail. 13 people were killed by floodwaters so quit just throwing out random numbers.
There was one like, 19 years ago? Itâs not something that happens often.
Where I live in Fort Worth is the area where the tornadoes come when they are getting together or whatever and then they Bop on over to Arlington and Jack with them. One actually came by my office and it didn't even break out the front window. I was mad because I didn't get to see it! So I don't lose a whole lot of sleep on tornadoes, although I've always wanted a pair of ruby slippers.
I was born and grew up in San Diego and now live in the north Fort Worth area. I still love the meteorlogical climate of California but I prefer the political climate of north Texas
The best of both worlds is living in a super-insulated home
close to cultural attractions and all the amenities you need. Texas rocks with no income taxes, tremendous business growth and common sense. I wish I could say the same about the
once-golden state.
My husband and I live in San Diego. Two years ago my son and his family moved from SD and live about 30 minutes south of Fort Worth. From the first time I visited I fell in love with Texas. My husband was on board with relocating once he retires in 2 years. That is until we visited last July. All I heard from him was âItâs hotâ... âItâs HOTâ!!!! âYes dear, I know itâs HOTâ!!! He loves Southern California weather and wears shorts 90% of the year. I keep hoping the closer it gets to retiring he sees we can not only have a better quality of life in Texas but be near our 2 granddaughters.
Glad to see a former Californian make a move and love it!!
Hopefully not too many of the people that ruined Cali move here to Texas or Texas will turn right into Cali.
@@airxtream2139 I say let's petition or something to keep that from happening. I'm not trying to see our state turn into some other state or country. For example, one of my problems that I'm having with the Mexicans moving here from Mexico is alot of them wanna turn our cities and state into another Mexico and I aint digging that at all. If you wanna move here to live a better life then cool I guess but don't come on our territory trying to change stuff up.

I was born in Fort Worth in 1949 and I remember the weather was totally different than it is today. I remember walking to school in the first week of September in the first grade, it was a block and half away, I actually had to wear a semi-heavy coat to school because it was so cold that there was frost on the ground. By the time I walked home it had warmed up to a comfortable temperature. There were four seasons back then and basically it got really cold and stayed cold until mid -May! It usually snowed two or three times every year until around the mid 80s. And the snow would be on the ground for an average of a week or so. It also was pretty common for the temperatures to get below freezing sometimes for two to three months at a time, with no break. I remember in the early 80s it got below 10 degrees below zero for couple of weeks and most of the water pipes in Fort Worth froze and broke, it got a lot colder than the pipes were designed for. I remember having to go to the May Fest in Fort Worth the first weekend of May having to wear a coat as late as 1980 or so. Now the summers were totally different too. It was a dry heat, hardly no homes had air conditioning, I actually went from 1st grade to the 12th grade with no air conditioning in the schools at all, and it really wasn't that bad. Not one of the schools in Fort Worth had air conditioning. Most cars folks bought back then didn't have air conditioning, really didn't need it! It got hot for sure but the heat like it is today, didn't exist! Folks didn't die in their homes from the lack of air conditioning, it wasn't hot enough. That's how much the climate in Fort Worth has changed in my life time.
Iâve lived in FW on and off since the late 90s and the winters have definitely gotten more mild over the last 20 years.
Thank you for your story
Thank you for sharing!!!
Pretty cool insight on how much the climate has changed. Thx for sharing.

I moved to Arlington in 1982 and still live there. I worked 20+ years in Ft Worth, primarily on the westside so I know what goes on in FtW. Everything mentioned here is pretty accurate. The summer heat never bothered me or other coworkers as we worked outdoors the majority of the day all year round. Summer is much better than winter. I don't see the heat bother too many with the exception of chubby women with a ton of make up on. Tornados? No big deal. The storms all seem to spring up out of the ground in Erath County and head east. We are at the beginning of the storms which intensify as they head NE and out of state. No state income tax, no county tax or city taken from your paycheck is a plus. The only thing you might have mentioned is the Main St Arts Festival, which is one of the top rated ones in the US. Huge deal to kick off summer in April every year.
Arlington is getting destroyed by the people who came from hurricane Katrina. South East Arlington and Grand Prairie and becoming unlivable.
I am 70 and have lived in Ft Worth my entire life. I have never experienced a tornado Traffic on I35 can be horrible, north to south, always construction going on . Close to DFW airport. I have averaged electric billing, so itâs fine. Great restaurants, and entertainment.
Howâs safety?
I've been in Fort Worth all my life and one day I hope to move temporarily just so I can say I lived somewhere different. Fort Worth is a wonderful city and I love the big city country feel and there are so many job opportunities here. Just a little advice for newcomers, do not get Fort Worth confused with Dallas. The vibe and people are totally different between the two cities.
Great Point!! Just mentioned that in our Dallas vs Fort Worth video.
Yah. Dallas has always been FULL of CARPETBAGGERS!! And Dallas *copied

@Ululu Kululu Hi. No, not at all. They can be very rich and affluent.. but the term comes from the Civil War time..after the North won over the South.
All manners of ppl besieged Charleston and other southern states...and basic robbed them of their properties and did some untoward things to them, cheatimg them and took over..and just moved in on them. It revolves around those things.

After I retired from CA law enforcement in the early '90s my wife, kids, and I moved to Watauga, TX and it was the best decision of our lives. I worked in the art district (At the Amon Carter Museum) in downtown Fort Worth and took the kids to the Stockyards and saw the rodeo every weekend. Unforanetly we relocated once again to Northern Virginia where the folks are still friendly as in Texas but the place is too pricey and there's no decent Mexican food. I'm still hopeful of moving back to the D/FW area one day. Really enjoy your channel.
No good Mexican food!? That's not going to work. lol. Texas cost of living is still great compared to most of the country.

You're right, time is limited and we can't cover everything.
Pros: Best neighborhoods are peaceful no crime , Cons: those safe places have HOA so someone is always going to annoy you . Best places to live with less cops- Crestwood,High Mount, Best places with too many cops pulling over people - River oaks, White Settlement, Worse places - Cherry lane,northside,southside,COMO,Stop6,Eastchase,Mansfield HWY, Forest Hill( good side of forest hill is the left side of bridge )coming from i35 to 20 . places that are 50/50 - NRH , RIchland Hills,Hurst,Bedford,
Iâm from the NS and itâs not bad. Try south and west side area. Nothing to do there. Everybody from those sides go to north side to have fun
Used to be great. Now it's evolving into another Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston. When I was growing up, didn't even have to lock the doors at night. And don't ever expect infrastructure upgrades to get done. With the moat they're building around downtown, the road projects are running about 4 years behind right now. They don't plan for the future, when the road upgrades are finished, they're usually where they should have been ten years ago. The Zoo, is still great.

I was born and raised in FW and love it. I would not want to live anywhere else, but if all these other people keep flocking here the cost of living is going to move from the pros to the cons list very soon. Our housing market is already strained. I bought my home 20 years ago brand new for $120K, but a person buying the same square footage today would pay north of $200K.
Most likely well o er $200K
If you play golf this is the place for you. I would also list nature as a pro. I have hiked in many nature preserves and state parks in North Texas. The Fort Worth Nature Center and Eagle Mountain Park (both in North Fort Worth) are among the best nature preserves I have experienced in DFW. Cleburne State Park, Dinosaur Valley State Park, and Lake Mineral Wells State Park feature better and in some cases more challenging hiking trails than North Texas state parks that are closer to Dallas. DFW has a reputation for being flat, but the Cedar Hill area, North Fort Worth, and several communities within an hour west or south of downtown Fort Worth have plenty of hills in settings that aren't overly developed or noisy.
I agree. There are no great hiking areas near Fort Worth.

I've traveled all across America from Oregon to New York to Florida to California and I've got to say...I legitimately hate how Fort Worth is being ran.Its like the shot callers could give a damn about mid class lifestyle. If you don't have a car you're screwed, they don't allow you to swim in the lake,I live in a townhome near Las Vegas Trail and our pool STILL isn't open...mind you it's been over 100° the last few WEEKS...I'm used to open lakes and lush forest, walking distance activities, parks with shade because they take care of the landscape, and public transportation that actually is dependable....call me spoiled but like I said everywhere I've been in America you can actually benefit from the tax dollars that are taken.Yoy can actually make a living for yourself. This is one of those places you either already have friends and family established ...or you have the money to live as you please....either way this large city is missing some MAJOR upgrades and to the livelihood of it's people not only organically..... realistically.Move here because you don't like where you are and nothing more with a car and you MIGHT be happy with the cost of living....don't expect no more from this place until they take care of the people's mental sense of substance. And f.y.i west fort worth is by a Naval base so get used to have the sound barrier broken above your home đ€Šđœââïž
Ft. Worth is going down hill quick. Taxes are insane, the more roads they build the worse traffic gets, tearing down all the good stuff so they can build stuff that sucks. I was born in Dallas, grew up in FW and there are few cities I would rather live in.
Dallas - Fort Worth is hard to beat.
Great Video đ
Thanks
Hi Mr. Soto
I watched some of your videos and I really liked them. Fully information regarding DFW.
I'm thinking to move pretty soon and I have a question for you. I'm a Pastry Chef and I would like to know in your opinion. What's the best area to work as a Pastry Chef?
Regards!!

Great question. I'd say Frisco area, Southlake, Highland Park and maybe Uptown Dallas.
You remind me of actor Christian Keysđ great video đđđ
I'm not sure who that is...but I'm going to take it as a compliment. lol
10 to 15 minutes! You kidding me? Try over an hour just to get to work in California
I frequently visit California and the traffic is on a whole other level!!
Dallas roads are much bigger and wider across a bigger area. LA has a very high population density, the opposite of DFW.

I will be taking a road trip to Texas this year and would like to know if you sell in 55+ communities throughout TX. Looking for small City life retirement away from Tornadoes
We will def reach out to your company as time draws near of us making that jump over there from California

Nah Calgary is quite modern Fort Worth isnât.

Born in Fort Worth let me be straight with you guys. When he says 8:08 talk about "DFW OPERTUNITIES" He is not talking about Fort Worth ! Yes we have American Airlines witch is closer to the airport away from the central city. And Lockheed Martin. That is pretty much it ! Downtown Dallas into Collin county like Frisco, Plano, is where the jobs are for college educated people. In fact three years ago Fort Worth realized is was falling behind in the white collar job base. But nothing really became of it. I love my city. And we have invested in S.T.E.M. education in FWISD . And Fort Worth kids are also in Keller ISD. And Crowley ISD. They are wonderful school districts. And TCU and Texas Wesleyan are four year school inside the city limits for a hundred years. And and new and fast growing Tarleton University in Fort Worth that is helping Hispanic kids get a college education. But Fort Worth simply cannot get fortune 500 companies to come to Fort Worth ? So unless you want to Drive from Fort Worth to Dallas and Frisco for those kind of jobs. Fort Worth is not the place for you . I'm sad to say. I have been trying to get our city leaders to change that. But they are inept in bringing high paying jobs for young college students. This list of fortune 500 companies in the DFW area is a little out of date. But is clearly shows how lopsided white collar jobs are located ! www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjm2aeMkdXuAhV0FTQIHQfkAIEQFjACegQIBhAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FList_of_companies_in_the_Dallas%25E2%2580%2593Fort_Worth_metroplex&usg=AOvVaw3j128vHrI17PUhF9nNKCsY

My wife and I were looking at renting in Fort worth. So you have tips on which neighborhoods we should look into and the areas to avoid?
Do you have children? Are you needing to be close to work?
Don't live on the inside of 820. Stay on the outside and you'll be fine.
Most of the major problems are east of I-35, however there are some bad parts that are west of I-35.
Question- which part of DFW or the Dallas suburbs is best for single family home rental investment.
Depends on budget. School district will play an important part.

One step at a time. Be a great Realtor first and then build a brokerage.

I and my partner we are looking at moving to Ft Worth at the end of this year đ€ This video is very encouraging, put our mind at rest. Can you let me know how newbies can get into real estate? (Psss I am into recruitment at the moment)
It's not difficult. You'll just need to obtain your Texas real estate license, which you can do online.

I live in Virginia and my wife and I are considering a move to Texas early next year. We own a commercial cleaning company. How well could our business potentially do in the Fort Worth area?
So did you guys moved to Texas?

Too much money to go around out here ..depends how hungry you are but definitely there is money out here waiting tons of it
What are the best school districts for middle and high schools? I uses to live in Abilene Texas and it was horrible. But most Texans have told me that Abilene is not a good representation of Texas so we are thinking of giving Ft. Worth a try.
I'd go with the Carroll ISD or Keller

Liberals not welcome
The economy is good but it is not keeping up with the cost of renting or home ownership. Be prepared to have a struggle finding a place to rent or purchase right off the bat that is reasonable. Whatever you want to pay for rent add 500 dollars and 100k to whatever home you want to purchase. Living in Texas is similar to living in California in the early 80s. The crime rate has gotten worse in my opinion. They are just getting more creative in how they report it. Entertainment is top notch and you have a large variety of restaurants. It is no longer the city that feels like a small town anymore.
Cost of housing is reasonably low, when compared to the majority of comparable cities in the US.
Hello do you do videos on incidents that happened in the city? Reason I have a story to tell.
Awesome eloquence đ
Thank you.
Hi can you tell me which city in Texas is best for healthcare admin I have a bachelor's in healthcare mgmt. I wanna leave NY by the spring. Thanks for any suggestions !
I'm not the best person to ask. However, I believe it would be Houston.
I'm in Riverside County CA. Been thinking about moving to Texas for a year
I have an MBA and it's freaking WORTHLESS in CA.
You think employers in Dallas Forth worth or Houston and Austin would find my education valuable there? I heard business is booming in DFW.
My father lives in Abilene. I visited last year...drove alone. I loved it! What a 36 he drive. I really liked Texas.
I don't want to move until I secure employment since I just don't have anyone that I can stay with out there until I find an office job.
I like Hot! I do notice sticky.
Tornados. ? Oh crap.
Crime is in every city.
Just look for a good area.
I want to go out there to visit the apartments out there.
I betcha your traffic in DFW is not as bad as Riverside Ontario 60 freeway area... and orange County and the 91 and 405.
If everyone is moving there...texas just may become the most populous state. CA is 39 million ppl Texas might get there.
Texas has Jobs!
YES we absolutely find education valuable. lol
Our economy is booming, so I think you'd easily be able to find a job here.
Donât move to Texas unless youâre Republican. Donât California my Texas
I enjoy Fort Worth! Itâs a cute town which makes your twang tunnel through your talkân (wink). Short travel with a cute sundress with cowgal boots đą all while your twirling on the grounds in your adventures. Itâs a place I really relax in while visiting.
