I’ve got a 04 Rav, 5 speed manual. Have done a handful of junkyard upgrades and have been surfing videos. Yours by far have given me so much depth but you’re wayyyyyy more savvy with careful meticulous steps, I jut scratch and wrench.
You need to fill those switch covers with a million led light bars! That’s what people do. And maybe a diff locker. And a Gatling gun. Maybe not, but ONE small-ish light bar would be cool on the rav. Edit: One of my favorite mods on my 98 4runner was wiring in a set of Hella micro DE fog/running lights. Pre 99 4runners didn’t have fog lights. I cut holes in the bumper valance and made it look like they were there from the factory. It was extremely useful at night. Loved that mod. And it just feels good filling in those empty switch covers!
I just started doing this project today. My cigarette lighter holder for some reason slides partially out whenever I've removed the cigarette lighter. If I used JB plastic weld to secure it in place would it be safe? To be clear, I intend to apply the plastic weld in the rear where the plastic component of the cigarette lighter meets the plastic trim, and not on any metal surface.
JB weld is safe, but from my experience doesn't work as well on plastic. The right thing to do is get some "new" parts from the junkyard that aren't broken.
I had some misfiring issues too... but the problem was some spilled oil that has gotten into gap of the first cillinder/sparkplug ... some pressured air did the job
I haven't had the bumpers off my RAV4, so I don't know for sure. Both the front and rear bumper covers have some pretty obvious trim screws around the edges of the bumper.
You just need a power inverter. Something like this will work for little things like charging a laptop: amzn.to/3kaavP5 If you're interested in powering appliances for camping, you'll need a true sine wave inverter with at least 2,000 watts like this: amzn.to/3nYDt6W
Love your Toyota videos. The level of detail, editing and information is seriously well done. Lots of time and dedication. Nice work Paul!

Paul I have enjoyed these videos!

I want all of it! Especially the gatling gun!
Paul Shpakov just hide it in a safari snorkel
the most used and appreciated mod on my 97(?) rav4 is the remote keyless entry... Paul, does your rav4 has keyless entry?
@@Aug-Ustinus I do want some power locks. A nice viper alarm with remote locks for all the doors is a great idea.
@@Aug-Ustinus Not yet, but it's on the list. Not having remote locks is pretty annoying.
You are talented. Maybe someday you will have some friends.... 😁
I appreciate all your vids I own a 97 rav4
Dude you are truly amazing.
Like always Paul, awesome and very useful.
I need more videos Paul!
I'm working on a video about sound deadening insulation. It turned out to be a lot more work that I thought, but I'm almost done with it.
More videos! Love this stuff!
@@51cathedral51 I'll have another one for you soon. I just finished installing sound deadening insulation.
"If I had friends" -- ha ha excellent video thanks! (count me as your friend!) :)
Great video dude.
Excellent video
Dank that's cool! In i been working on lots of old rav 4! Amazing cars.

Paul, I'd be your friend, but I'm too jealous of your RAV4.
Is there a connector kit you would recommend for a beginner?
i wish u owned my rav4, it's a 4 door, but also a 5 speed, could use the phone charger
Man I changed the plugs and wires and the engine misfires stopped! My RAV4 is fixing up great too!
Good work!
I had some misfiring issues too... but the problem was some spilled oil that has gotten into gap of the first cillinder/sparkplug ... some pressured air did the job
@@Aug-Ustinus You'll need to change that valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals to stop that leak from causing another misfire.
Queztion: would it be a risk to just plug in a simple removable cigarette lighter usb/C adapter. ??
Hi Paul I have a scion xa 2006 it has no cigarette socket, how do I install one would appreciate some advice
Magnifico así los viajeros de atrás pueden ir cargando el móvil.
Hey Paul,
I have a 1999 rav4l automatic transmission, please tell me, where is the location of the cigarette lighter fuse?
thanks
The cig and radio 15A fuse is located inside the car, to the right of the hood release.
@@LabCoatPaul Thanks Paul
@@LabCoatPaul Now getting ready to change out all four wheel bearing.
Hey Paul how do I remove the bumper from my 96 rav 4? I bought a new one
I haven't had the bumpers off my RAV4, so I don't know for sure. Both the front and rear bumper covers have some pretty obvious trim screws around the edges of the bumper.
Hey Paul, is there a way to add a power outlet like ones you find in a house? Is that very complicated?

Maybe you should work on the timing belt next? 😉 And get your rav4 a buddy! Aka my Rav4!
Actually, I'm planning on doing the timing belt very soon.
Sure, our RAV4s can be friends!
@@LabCoatPaul that'd be cool, I wanna post some vids of some work I need to do on my rav4. Maybe we could collab! I live in slc too! Haha
@@averywarenski6847 Yeah, I'm down to collaborate on a video! I sent you a message on facebook.
Hey Paul! Question, does your RAV4 have a working factory clock? My 1996 2 door does not but I picked one up on eBay and the wire
My clock is good, but it's a common problem in the RAV4.
@@LabCoatPaul I see I see! I gotta try to figure out how to wire mine in!
How do u tell the cigarette lighter outlet negative and positive tho!?
The outside metal casing of the cigarette lighter is always negative, and the small part in the middle is positive.
lol. and if I had friends!
