I never that there was an earlier version of this now " politically incorrect"( and, I'm laughing, as I'm writing this). never knew it existed. If anyone is interested, Trini's was 1960 and Jimmy's 1963. Both applaudable performances. However, Jimmy Soul's coincidentally, has more soul.( my preference). Another, however is: Trini Lopez's version has a Latin flare, now wait for it, he was Latin. Operative word was, since he died of Coronaviris complications on 8/11/20 at 83. His biggest hit in 1963 was "If I had a hammer," which I danced to since I was 70 ( the new 20) This song was written by: The Weaver's w/ Bob Seger, a protest song, in support of the Progressive Movement. We haven't made much progress, have we?
Quite to the contrary, all the wives are so pretty and I am sure they would have made loving spouses. From my personal point of view get a loving woman to marry you. Happy Matrimony forever. End to all divorces
Jimmy Soul's version is much better, this was is fine but I kinda find it boring compared to the other version which i think is more fun and upbeat to me.

I like this better than Jimmy Soul's version. Okay, it's a little shorter than Soul's version but still fun to listen to.
