  • Today we’re checking out the Nozawa Onsen area of Nagano Prefecture with our new reporter, Tia.
Winter is one of the best times of year to come to Nozawa Onsen.
First we’re going to take the big gondola to the top of Mt. Kenashi, which is about 5,413 feet high.
All around you can see a beautiful silvery landscape of snow.
On the way back down to the village, you can see the whole of the Nozawa Onsen Village area.
The views on the way to the Skyline village area are awesome!
It’s just like flying into a hot-spring town.
Nozawa Onsen ski resort has beginner, intermediate and advanced pistes.
There are lots of other slopes, too, including family areas.
There’s lots of fun for everyone!
You can stop to eat at various places in the resort, including Panorama House Buna and Shichirohei Coffee.
Also be sure to check out the unique Zip Skyride line, which flies visitors from the top of the Hikage area to the bottom. It’s one of Japan’s longest zip lines, providing the novel experience of flying above a snowy landscape.
After your fill of the winter activities on offer, take a walk around Nozawa Onsen Village and check out some of its 13 open-air spas.
There’s nothing better than relaxing in a hot bath after a hard day of winter activities.
We’re also stopping by the local Compass Village fried-bread shop.
Japan’s traditional age-pan fried bread was first made more than 60 years ago.
Here we see Tia trying out kinako (roasted soybean powder) and cinnamon sugar types.
Come and check out Nozawa Onsen Village for a variety of new discoveries!
See below for more information on the places featured in this video and Coronavirus safety measures.

2nd trip to japan and nozawaonsen was the highlight of this year, absolutely beautiful village happy to remember some of these moments again, only issue was the green runs are so easy and the red runs are soo so difficult, i’m a beginner so i only sticked with the green runs
