      Thanks so much for this feedback, Cary. Yes, I find that there are a lot of assumptions out there in many tutorials, and the speed that the presenters use to go through new principles can be kind of overwhelming! I really appreciate your comment so much. Thanks. :-)

      LOL! I hope you will work your way through this whole series. There are 6 tutorials so far, with many others planned. My health challenges have set me back a bit, and between presenting at the Card Maker Success Summit next week, and my grandkids coming for 10 days later this month, I probably won't get to #7 and beyond until September. But they're coming! 😊

I am from Australia where we use A4 size paper/cardstock.   • @yvonnemoore2463
    @yvonnemoore2463 Před rokem

    I was so excited to watch #1, very informative. I am 74 and media challenged. I had one issue in trying it in my Canva. When I entered the measurement data from your template for the 5 X 7 cards, the template didn't change to the 5 X7 size and was unsure how to get the readymade 5 X 7 template onto the page. I ended up with the full letter size, changed it to plain so the graphics wouldn't be cut in half. Is there a way to designate landscape instead of portrait?

    • @sandespoema
      @sandespoema  Před rokem

      Sorry for the confusion! When you create a new doc for your publishing template, enter the dimensions as 11" x 8.5" instead of 8.5" x 11". That will make it display in landscape mode so you can add the Guides data correctly. Try it and let me know if you are still having problems! :-)

I cut this down to 21x29 and cut in half making two cards 10.5 x 14.5. My front mat 10x14cm. I need help making templates for this . Can you help …hopeful aussiexx

      I'm sorry to say that there isn't, Yvonne. I can work towards making that happen, but I'm hoping that until then you can just pause the recording at each point while you follow along. I apologize to you and hope that as I continue to add to this series the repetition of these same concepts will help reinforce the new principles introduced and your learning. • @sandespoema
      @sandespoema  Před rokem +1

      Linda, I'm so sorry about that! Your experience highlights an issue that I wasn't aware of when I made the first tutorial. I actually will be addressing it in #6 when I discuss the Free vs. Pro options. I learned something new (through hindsight) and hopefully you will check out the more full explanation in the next video. As far as I know you shouldn't have any other issues in Tutorials 2-5. Let me know if you do! In the meantime, try choosing a different template and walking through the same steps with me in #1. Thanks for watching! 😊

      @bikrgran Před rokem

      @@sandespoema Thanks! I will continue, as I've ordered a pen for my iPad, and want to learn how to do this. I don't think the pen will make any difference in the download thing, but maybe it was the fact of using ready-made templates.

  • @Deb_Thurtell
    @Deb_Thurtell Před rokem

    I have just watched your tutorial and I am very confused. I tried to do everything along with you. The cat you used downloaded with a watermark in the free version, (it can be removed but I have to pay for that) so does that mean all of the pre-loaded images will have a watermark? Also do you upload the panels to use them? I didn't quite understand that bit. I am determined to figure this out because I think it will be very useful with some of my projects.

    • @sandespoema
      @sandespoema  Před rokem +1

      Hi Deb ~ I am so sorry you are confused! Thanks for taking the time to share. I will try to answer here briefly....
      1) I chose that particular template (with the cat) spontaneously when I was filming the tutorial. I wasn't planning on anyone actually downloading that image because it was just an example. So I didn't pay attention to the fact that the cat was not a free image. What you experienced is what I tried to explain in that video and the following tutorials as well -- that FREE accounts cannot use the images that are designated as PRO by the little crown icon. Apparently the designer of that template used the PRO cat, and because it was included in a larger template the little crown didn't show up on the sample. Anyway, it was only meant to be an example of how to use templates in my tutorial. I try to be cognizant of that issue in my own designs throughout the rest of the tutorials.
      2) The printing guides are only meant to give you the actual numbers of the measurements to plug in when you fill out the "Add Guides" section for yourself on your document. The actual printed file is not useful in itself. It's the measurement numbers that you plug in for yourself in Canva that I have figured out for you ahead of time so you won't have to try to do the math yourself!
      Please let me know if this answers your questions.... if not, write back, and I'll try to help more. :-)

    You never onced said how to save a file, help me

    • @sandespoema
      @sandespoema  Před rokem

      You don’t need to save anything yourself unless you choose to download it to your computer. Then you save it like any other file or picture. But Canva will automatically save everything you do in the cloud. So all of your projects will be available every time you log in. 😊
