Evgeny Kissin, 19 years old
1991-2-12 in Tokyo, Japan - Hudba
He was so good at just 19, I find it easier now to understand how he has become the amazing pianist he is today. This is so clearly and neatly articulated, so precise it is unbelievable.
Can't believe how good this man was already at the age of 19. Total perfection. Made me cry, especially the Schubert Liszt interpretations.
He was such cute boy with pompom head has extraordinary musical talent and purity!!! Love young Kissin! ❤Still one of the greatest musicians!
When the legend was young
KISSIN…at this consert 19.yers old.!!!! Will will have many years of happyness with him…
What a beautiful musical moment you gave us dear Kissin. Really a precious memory.
He’s perfect ❤❤❤❤❤❤now and then…..forever in my heart! The master
like an angel..
I like his playing when he was younger than now because now he plays in such a serious tense way (you can even see it in his facial expression now).. Before he was more relaxed and natural even with the wrong notes which makes it even more free and natural.
I wish I didn't agree... but strangely... I think I do..

he's still way up there and extremely exceptional... no doubt...
Scintillating interpretations, and what astounding articulation he has always displayed!
Bravo! Felicitaciones!!!🎉
Utter genius.
Thank you

The music of Faso is an inexhaustible source of sweetness.
It allows us to plunge deep inside ourselves and at the same time resonate with our fellow man, Yé Lassina Coulibaly❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing!!!
The then 20 yrs old Kissin has a more impressive musical maturity than any of today's piano competition winners.
Not true. 🥺🥶😖😩
Wonderful
He's such a cutie.
I'm glad someone notices.
❤
great
Even at this age, I suspect Evgeny must have a wonderful sense of humor. He's seems so fearless. He sees right through the bluff and bluster of Liszt. I also suspect he plays Schubert better than Schubert. His Chopin is both intimate and highly seductive. I wonder who were his artistic heroes? And I bet his teachers are still pissing themselves with pride. Wow. "His star has risen in the east." N.T.
Amazing! 44:14 I think Matt Bellamy took this as an inspiration to write Survival.
1:08:04 best piece imo
a good student sits and plays something. that's odd to say it about The Kissin
YUja could take some lessons for Erlkonig
Does anyone know who arranged that Auld Lang?
I'm assuming that he improvised it on the spot. There's another recording of Kissin playing it from a similar time period and there are differences between the two. There is also no doubt that he has the ability to improvise this.
Rare to see Kissin perform on a Yamaha...
Haha, probably before he signed with Steinway. He was in Japan after all!

What will a young man of his age do with all those flowers? Start up a florist's shop maybe.
Beginning with a mistake in front of such a packed audience must be frightening. The rest is good thankfully.
Nothing bad in making mistakes. It takes a lot of maturity to keep up despite them
@@Alex-iu7dl I agree but on the third note it's uncanny for a player of his range.
@@RoboticsBay he was just 19 FFS, how many people could sit down and play 13 pieces in a row from memory with virtually no mistakes at _any_ age?`
Horowitz missed notes or played wrong ones all the way through his career yet he was lauded as one of the best.
@@magnetiktrax I didn't say the contrary, just pointed out a fact
@@RoboticsBay sorry, I overreacted to your comment. He looked pretty nervous in the interview, I guess that had something to do with the performance.
It’s weird how he rocks backwards and forwards. Is that why he hit so many wrong notes?
I have no idea where are the bad and good notes. It is miraculous :D
@@csabaszabo8624listen again from 54:00 - especially the left hand.
@@whoisthispianist194 i dont know why your such a jealous prick. he was 19 at the time and we saw he had become one of the greatest pianists alive today so whats your point?
You are such an ignorant pianist.
For a much better reading of the Liszt, listen to Perahia. Notice how Perahia’s playing is much lighter and more elegant.also, the Chopin Sonata was so loudly played I couldn’t hear the music. Surely he should consider Chopin’s piano and aesthetic more. Kissin’S playing was deafening most of the time. Almost unbearable. He got much better with age.
Were you present at the recital? We always have to question recording techniques not the pianist?
Do feel free to post your own recording for us to review.
