  • In today's gastroparesis days in my life vlog I do a lot of packing and cleaning to prepare for our move coming at the end of the month!
    I also do my weekly Target, Joanns and grocery run and I found so many fun things! I also decided I wanted to try to take up a new craft, embroidery! So at Joann's I got all of the necessary embroidery supplies and will hopefully get to embroidering soon!
    At the end I unbox my monthly feeding tube supplies and some more snaps and clips I bought for the tubie pads and tubie clips I sell on my Etsy!
    I hope you enjoyed the video and don't forget to give this video a like and a comment and to subscribe for new videos every Saturday. And as always, don't forget to spread kindness and joy!

    Hey Kenna, just thought I’d update you, I had the gpoem as well but with no real relief of symptoms, 4 months later I had to go back on the NJ feeds due to malnutrition and somehow going on the feeds has stimulated my intestines to work again and now the combination of the gpoem and the feeds has meant that I can eat and last week I had the tube removed and got the all clear to go back to work after 16 months off. I’m still not 100% symptom wise but I am getting all my nutrition orally now which is a massive step forward.

      Thank you so much for sharing I love knowing how all of you are! I am so happy to hear that your NJ woke up your intestines a bit and that you are able to go back to work, that is such a huge win for you I am so so proud of you!!! And omg yes eating orally is a massive step forward. I hope you continue to improve and eventually as your body gets more and more used to food your symptoms lessen!! Keep me updated!

    Moving is a lot of work. I moved a lot in the past so it’s nice to watch someone else do it for once. Did you guys find a better apartment or are you moving into a house? Hope your move goes well,. Glad you had a good week😃

    I LOVE SUNDAYS SO MUCH I feel like we're friends omg. While I don't have gastroparesis (ulcerative colitis club over here) I love seeing chronic illness normalized especially us that have a more "invisible" illness and love a productive week as we know those don't happen often (I just failed to submit 3 final papers as I was feeling like trash and couldn't complete them... whoops!)

    • @KennaKrueger

      Awww thank you and we are friends! Ooo ulcerative colitis, that is a rough one too. Yes I am so glad more people are sharing about their invisible illnesses and raising awareness for them. Aww no I am sorry you had a rough week, those rough health weeks are not fun. I am wishing you a better health week or even some health days next week!

    Hey Kenna
    All the very best for you both with the packing & moving home! Congratulations =)
    I finally did my big crazy short notice home move all while I was in hospital!
    Crazy..
    I’m playing catch up on YT Kenna lol new beginning and memories await you in your new home!!
    I finally did my move or rather my carers and a team of close family members moved me from a house to an apartment (on 7th & 8th June) while I was in hospital since 2/6 to 11/6 emergency admission for an op (41st) move dates were 7th & 8th) then I was back in for 2nd surgery (42nd) this month 15/6 to 17/6 and came out to my new place on 18/6 which was surreal as I left my old address to go into hospital and came out to a new one on 19/6!
    Unfortunately I ended up back in hospital and another emergency admission with 3rd surgery this month (43rd) and a on 20/6 and came out today 25/6 today it’s been a mad month health wise and move wise can’t find anything at the moment stuff still in boxes and stuff still in storage also crazy!
    I don’t know how I got through all that in under 3 weeks! Being so unwell too. keep doing what you are little and often slowly does it so you don’t flare or crash, sending love
    Ps. I got my AMT G-Jet Button tube on Wednesday this week yay! I love my new tube it’s so comfortable and easy to use.. 💚x

      Thank you so much! And oh my goodness you have been through so much. The moving and all of the admissions sounds like a lot but I am so proud of you for making it through. That is not easy! And moving is hard and stressful for anyone so being sick makes it so much harder. I definitely am starting to slow down with the packing and preparing the house because it is taking so much out of me but I am almost there and I am getting help from my family for the big things which is so helpful! And yay I am so glad you were able to get the button! It is so much more comfortable and easy to use. I am wishing you so many good health days!

    Did you go vegan to help GP symptoms or other reasons? I am dairy free because of GP but can’t have fruit and vege so a lot of my diet is protein and carbs so I would really struggle with vege/vegan diet even though I’d love to cut meat out as much as possible, oh and I am also allergic to nuts so that also takes a lot of options out.

    • @KennaKrueger
      @KennaKrueger  Před 3 lety

      After the gpoem yes I ended up going vegan to try to help GI symptoms, but obviously for me personally it didn’t really end up making a difference haha (but I know for other people it has helped!) I was dairy free long before going vegan and even before my Gastroparesis diagnosis because I saw worsening of symptoms after dairy. Im not perfectly vegan anymore, still 98% but if one day my symptoms improve a lot more (which I am determined they will) I think I will switch more to a plant based approach rather than vegan because like you I feel with GI symptoms there is already so much restriction so it’s just important to eat what is best for your body (and mind!) and what is able to help you get all the nutrients!

    I’m currently undiagnosed I’m pretty sure that I have gp but no one believes me and eating is horrible every bite hurts and I’m constantly nauseous and the hard part is I have emetiphobia (fear of vomiting vomit) so I get panicked and I am underweight but no one is doing anything about it

    • @KennaKrueger
      @KennaKrueger  Před 3 lety +2

      I am so sorry that no one believes you. Going through the symptoms is hard enough but when people don’t believe you it’s even harder! And I understand the emetephobia, I don’t throw up either (unless something is really wrong) because my body is so afraid of it. Keep advocating for yourself so you can get the proper care!

    • @Dulcimerist
      @Dulcimerist Před 3 lety +2

      Sorry you're experiencing that. I went through a rough period of time when doctors didn't believe me, either.
      Do you have any other symptoms, such as dizziness/fainting or hyperflexible joints? If so, it might suggest a systemic disorder causing everything - if you can get that diagnosed, doctors tend to take patients more seriously since an underlying causal condition has been identified.

    • @Dulcimerist
      @Dulcimerist Před 3 lety +1

      @@mossthegremlin6161 It was hypermobile type Ehlers Danlos syndrome that I ended up having. Unfortunately, I didn't get that diagnosed until age 38. A doctor suspected I had hEDS when I was 21, but it wasn't followed up properly. Definitely get in to see a specialist to be screened for EDS. If you get that diagnosed and have a knowledgeable doctor, they will know that POTS and gastroparesis are super common with it and will get you the treatment you need.
      For some extra good news, an older medication called Mestinon (Pyridostigmine) has emerged as an effective new treatment option for both POTS and gastroparesis. One medication to treat two health conditions is great, since it means fewer drugs. It's worked great for me.
