I don't think its CZcams only. Pretty much all of social media is ate up with trolls and society itself is filled with crude rude obnoxious people. I bash on Discovery networks quite often but any time Im asked about Alone I always praise it and tell everyone its just about the only real show there is. People who are unkind are generally very unhappy, suffering or in some kind of pain and they use their online anonymity to vent their anger. It's not really personal, even when they target specific individuals. Cold comfort, I know. But the problem is on their end. I love these videos. None of my friends are really outdoorsy and I don't enjoy camping alone so I give mad props to those that do. You inspire me, even though I rarely spend a night outdoors, alone or with company.

I did get caught up writing mean words back, I figure that's exactly what they want me to do. minustwelve as far as camping alone I don't blame you it's can be dangerous for anyone camping backpacking alone. I've camped alone I have to tell you at night it can be pretty creepy alone I used to live in Northern California and camped stealthy overnight because of the long drive and wanted to make my own camp out so it's pretty risky for a young man at the time in the back of my truck I had a lock box in it was a sleeping bag tent my cooking set and spare clothes for random camping even if I had to pass out in family's back yard for the night hee hee lol. For a women I wouldn't recommend her to camp alone beside it's no fun. Have a great 4th of July 🇺🇸✌

Having been diagnosed with relapsing/remitting MS in 1993 I can relate to unexpected flare ups. I think it’s awesome that Nicole went on the show and challenged herself. I’m lucky enough to continue to hunt and camp and do all the things I love to do even with the challenges of the disease. Kudos to all who challenge themselves and just keep doing you!
I was diagnosed in 2007 but they felt I’d had it for years because I had many lesions. I’m blessed and am impressed with others who would do this challenge. Nice to meet another MS’er. God bless!

People are so quick to judge without knowing all the facts and you are right in what you say here, it can't be easy to do this wilderness experience stuff and I applaud the woman with MS for coming on the show and giving it a go. It all comes down to respect and keeping your negative thoughts to yourself, those who don't understand usually have much to say especially unwarranted stuff and only the humble truly have been there and understand. Never let anyone live in your head without paying rent. You just can't always understand and change people. Some people aren't meant to be understood. A lesson that took me a long time to understand and learn.
I can't help but think that these so-called haters, what they would be like in an alone scenario. Most of us would not fair very well, even with all of the skills. I give kudos to each and everyone of you that go on that show to test your skills, to test your psyche and yes even your faith. And a lot of it is done for our edification and entertainment. I love Alone. It’s been and is one of my favourite shows. Seeing how you guys experience you survival in such remote locations is amazing to watch. I don’t need to go out and experience it I’m humbled and inspired by watching it. Haters must have so much inner hate toward themselves I feel sorry for them. You rock Brooke, and so do all of the Alone contestants no matter why they tap out.

People with the negativity that you mention usually have serious doubts about their own value or self-worth. There are those who have psychological problems such as personality disorders. Basically, when a total stranger speaks out in mean and hurtful ways, it is a strong indicator of their own personal pain. They may or may not even be aware of it. What is sad is that they are sad, unhappy people. They have my pity rather than anger (most of the time.) I too, have many flaws. If I'm OK with myself, just the way I am, then I have no reason to hate others. Good message.
......when one is touted as an " expert " in survival , then expectations run high.....they don't take into consideration the mental and spiritual tenacity you must have to just exist......granted some stupid mistakes are made , but it is how you recover and work ones options......I enjoy all of the journeys on Alone...wish I was younger , for I 'd like to make that trip.....Grizz
My experience with internet hate: We live in a world now where you cannot speak your mind without being publicly scrutinized and your livelihood being in jeopardy... there are far too many things that are subject to political correctness. This resulting censorship in public form represses our expression and in turn is negatively channeled to internet hate (much like a punching bag) be cognisant that people are venting in this form the majority of the time and that it will only get worse.

I love Alone, and I love that many of you have had your own CZcams channels for years so we can feel like we know you guys outside of the show. I found your channel after watching you and your husband and I found out here that you have a fun sense of humor that I didn't pick up on the show. I felt terrible for Nichole and Carleigh because they had done so well in their first seasons, only to have bad luck boot them in the butts this time around!
I'm not normally this harsh on any online forum but opinions are like assholes, Everyone has one. I don't know why people have to act like this when they can hide behind a keyboard but they do, and I often find their opinion really doesn't matter. Some people bitch, moan, point fingers, and generally put other people down to elevate themselves. They know what is best for everyone else, but not themselves. They make excuses for their failures. Ignore them because they will not admit their shortcomings, thus will not change. Hacking on someone with MS is terrible. Shun these people.
You know, if people are gonna put people down...put them down on their prayer list!! I ain't perfect and I, myself want to moan .but within the last two years , I am getting more thankful for what I have!! I have always tried to be kind to all!!

Brooke this video actually made me cry. We all know the people who judge and comment negative things I call them the energy vampires they try to drain your energy. But you made me realize which I thought they're very unhappy people but there's a reason for that we don't know what they go through. My husband is bipolar and has a lot to deal with and sometimes his negativity can't get to me and I try to be understanding and I try not to let it bring me down but it's hard and have my family I only have one brother that is understanding of that. The world does need more love and we do need to bring Grace to ourselves and to other people. I just recently found your channel and I love it I love how you go camping by yourself I feel like I'm right there the way you express everything is so awesome you have a great day 🥰
I am relatively new to the scene on CZcams and FB and already see the hatred and disrespect that people try to use to take you down or challenge your skills as if they are more experienced and knowledgeable but even worse are the couch potatoes hiding behind the internet keyboard. I can't even begin to know the surface of you and other survivors that face the criticism because of your world-wide recognition. It does put an edge on you but then there's the goodness of people that shine over it all that appreciate your contributions with kindness and support. Some 'wannabes' think starving for one chance at $500,000 is an easy gig. They don't appreciate the costs in gaining knowledge and experience that go into the competition. Negative commenters wonder why Alone doesn't get 'real' survivors for the show. EXCUSE ME?? This season has participants who have been surviving in the woods as teachers or hobbyists since before their initial Alone Seasons. I just watched a video where one critic (a woodcraft/naturecraft guy) undertook a ten-day wild food 'survival challenge' that involved a canoe, a rowboat, a couple of visits home to bag a backyard bunny with a firearm, and help from a professional trapper to harvest beaver they knew were there. How is that like the challenge faced by the young man who was dropped on a stretch of river 'where the fish don't swim?' Perhaps I digress: trolls are not moved by facts...just by their own feelings and needs.

My only criticism is for the show itself. I mean for those like Carleigh. If they could just get her the medical attention she needed without giving her any food, then let her go back! I think it's more than fair to send people on home when they want to go because they're missing their family, or when they're starving or whatever. I just think it's unfair when they have to go home for something that can be taken care of medically within a day or two. Kudos to everyone involved because I definitely could never attempt something so brave.

I totally agree with this Brooke. I was visiting a famous ranch in Tennessee, and on the last day, I wanted to take a walk in the woods....ended up very lost and very alone, with NO supplies....very humbling indeed. I refound civilization 12 hours later....thank gosh. I can totally relate to ALL of you out in the wild, even though in many cases, it was by your own choosing. I am learning a lot about how to survive, both in the wilderness, and in the "real world" as some of us call it. The "real world" is out in the wilderness. Bless you Brooke and your fellow friends.
I just watched Survival Lilly, who by the way is awesome and works hard to produce quality videos to share with the world,.... lay out the exact same thing. There will always be haters. It is one thing to participate with armchair advice and angles...it is called being engaged....it is entirely another to spew hateful, mindless and cold garbage. It is funny that you address this issue today as I just showed my daughter an episode of Alone an hour ago and told her, "this lady (you) is a beast....she is awesome." I have raised my daughter to love the outdoors. She is an awesome huntress and fly fisherman. She was immediately drawn in to the series and was so impressed with you. Keep on keeping on.

Nicole has nothing to prove to anyone season 2 says it all. She is an over comer. Just to attempt this again is very brave. I'm 54 and I KNOW I would not last more than a couple weeks if I was in best possible shape and training. If I made it 7 days it's celebration time baby! I could not win this competition though. I don't think the keyboard commandos realize the SUCK you would be in after just a few short days out there. I was excited to see Jesse make some good kills on the hunt. If he can continue this and hold up he will do well. Finding and securing the game is key but difficult as Brad realized. Good luck to the other remaining 6 because Girl will be tough to beat ;-)

I'm 59 and still have to test myself with attitude and judgment. I try to remember that events in life may have made someone I judged the way they are, shootings, death,etc. so as you say..GRACE. now I try my best to change someones bad attitude into a living example that maybe one day they will see it and try to be better. we only have one life and you may not get a chance tomorrow to show the best you can be today. cheers
some could do better with their eyes shut, too, if they have a bit of blubber. All that's required is get the tarp up, get a water source, get the sleeping bag under the tarp, crawl into it, and only come out for more water and to eliminate wastes. Just by knowing that much, you can last for 60 days, which would have beaten all but 10 out of 40 so far and doubtless will suffice to beat about 5 more this season.
Don't have time or a TV to watch this series, busy or out in nature. I do know I wouldn't put my health through something like that at present, nothing to do with courage. Plain reality. I've done some longer solo excursions, you're competing against your own strengths and weaknesses. It's a challenge.
This touched me to my core. I came across your channel last night and I have been binge watching ever since. I appreciate your spirit, your compassion and your positive outlook. My Mom passed from complications from MS. She struggled for years as a single mother with an 8 year old and passed when I was 32. I didn't even realize you were on Alone when I found your channel but I've followed and been in awe of everyone from Season 1. Putting out into the universe only good vibes and the best of GODs blessings for you and your family.

I'd never even watched Alone until this summer. I loved it and binged every season. You and Dave were amazing! I was awed by all your strength, knowledge, and creativity. Just recently I happened upon your You tube channel. I didn't realize at first you were Brooke from Alone but was just taken with your adventures. Love, love watching and learning various skills and ideas from you for camping. As a believer it is refreshing to see someone be thankful and bold enough to pray on camera before their meal. Stay safe and keep spreading Grace. It is much needed everywhere we are.

I suffer from chronic nerve pain and wish I could walk in the wilderness like I used to. I remember how big and overwhelming the outdoors is. Survival is a craft. When we give Grace, we'll get it back seven fold. I love your channel, and your outlook.

People who are unkind are generally very unhappy, suffering or in some kind of pain and they use their online anonymity to vent their anger. It's not really personal, even when they target specific individuals. Cold comfort, I know. But the problem is on their end. I love these videos. None of my friends are really outdoorsy and I don't enjoy camping alone so I give mad props to those that do. You inspire me, even though I rarely spend a night outdoors, alone or with company.

I did get caught up writing mean words back, I figure that's exactly what they want me to do. minustwelve as far as camping alone I don't blame you it's can be dangerous for anyone camping backpacking alone. I've camped alone I have to tell you at night it can be pretty creepy alone I used to live in Northern California and camped stealthy overnight because of the long drive and wanted to make my own camp out so it's pretty risky for a young man at the time in the back of my truck I had a lock box in it was a sleeping bag tent my cooking set and spare clothes for random camping even if I had to pass out in family's back yard for the night hee hee lol. For a women I wouldn't recommend her to camp alone beside it's no fun. Have a great 4th of July 🇺🇸✌

Having been diagnosed with relapsing/remitting MS in 1993 I can relate to unexpected flare ups. I think it’s awesome that Nicole went on the show and challenged herself. I’m lucky enough to continue to hunt and camp and do all the things I love to do even with the challenges of the disease. Kudos to all who challenge themselves and just keep doing you!

I was diagnosed in 2007 but they felt I’d had it for years because I had many lesions. I’m blessed and am impressed with others who would do this challenge. Nice to meet another MS’er. God bless!

People are so quick to judge without knowing all the facts and you are right in what you say here, it can't be easy to do this wilderness experience stuff and I applaud the woman with MS for coming on the show and giving it a go. It all comes down to respect and keeping your negative thoughts to yourself, those who don't understand usually have much to say especially unwarranted stuff and only the humble truly have been there and understand. Great advice in what you say here Brooke, thank you for opening up to us and telling us like it is.

Never let anyone live in your head without paying rent. You just can't always understand and change people. Some people aren't meant to be understood. A lesson that took me a long time to understand and learn.
I will always be aware of the fact that whatever someone says something negative, it is a reflection of themselves, a weakness.
I can't help but think that these so-called haters, what they would be like in an alone scenario. Most of us would not fair very well, even with all of the skills. I give kudos to each and everyone of you that go on that show to test your skills, to test your psyche and yes even your faith. And a lot of it is done for our edification and entertainment. I love Alone. It’s been and is one of my favourite shows. Seeing how you guys experience you survival in such remote locations is amazing to watch. I don’t need to go out and experience it I’m humbled and inspired by watching it. Haters must have so much inner hate toward themselves I feel sorry for them. You rock Brooke, and so do all of the Alone contestants no matter why they tap out.

People with the negativity that you mention usually have serious doubts about their own value or self-worth. There are those who have psychological problems such as personality disorders. Basically, when a total stranger speaks out in mean and hurtful ways, it is a strong indicator of their own personal pain. They may or may not even be aware of it. What is sad is that they are sad, unhappy people. They have my pity rather than anger (most of the time.) I too, have many flaws. If I'm OK with myself, just the way I am, then I have no reason to hate others. Good message.
Let's take them to the area and dump them with 10 items and see how they do. Then see what they have to say!!

My experience with internet hate: We live in a world now where you cannot speak your mind without being publicly scrutinized and your livelihood being in jeopardy... there are far too many things that are subject to political correctness. This resulting censorship in public form represses our expression and in turn is negatively channeled to internet hate (much like a punching bag) be cognisant that people are venting in this form the majority of the time and that it will only get worse.
I've been watching your channel for years. I'm pretty such II was already a subscriber to your channel when this video was first posted. This is such a beautiful message, and it seems even more poignant now four years on. Thank you.
It is one of the hardest thing that a person could do in the outdoors and alot of people do not understand that. I respect you all, anyone that is even willing to try this deserves respect. My wife has MS and its always misunderstood. I've actually applied for the show a couple of times. I love Alone, and I love that many of you have had your own CZcams channels for years so we can feel like we know you guys outside of the show. I found your channel after watching you and your husband and I found out here that you have a fun sense of humor that I didn't pick up on the show. I felt terrible for Nichole and Carleigh because they had done so well in their first seasons, only to have bad luck boot them in the butts this time around!

Ignore them because they will not admit their shortcomings, thus will not change. Hacking on someone with MS is terrible. Shun these people.
You know, if people are gonna put people down...put them down on their prayer list!! I ain't perfect and I, myself want to moan .but within the last two years , I am getting more thankful for what I have!! I have always tried to be kind to all!!

Brooke this video actually made me cry. We all know the people who judge and comment negative things I call them the energy vampires they try to drain your energy. But you made me realize which I thought they're very unhappy people but there's a reason for that we don't know what they go through. My husband is bipolar and has a lot to deal with and sometimes his negativity can't get to me and I try to be understanding and I try not to let it bring me down but it's hard and have my family I only have one brother that is understanding of that. The world does need more love and we do need to bring Grace to ourselves and to other people. I am relatively new to the scene on CZcams and FB and already see the hatred and disrespect that people try to use to take you down or challenge your skills as if they are more experienced and knowledgeable but even worse are the couch potatoes hiding behind the internet keyboard. I can't even begin to know the surface of you and other survivors that face the criticism because of your world-wide recognition. It does put an edge on you but then there's the goodness of people that shine over it all that appreciate your contributions with kindness and support. Some 'wannabes' think starving for one chance at $500,000 is an easy gig. They don't appreciate the costs in gaining knowledge and experience that go into the competition. Negative commenters wonder why Alone doesn't get 'real' survivors for the show. EXCUSE ME?? This season has participants who have been surviving in the woods as teachers or hobbyists since before their initial Alone Seasons. I just watched a video where one critic (a woodcraft/naturecraft guy) undertook a ten-day wild food 'survival challenge' that involved a canoe, a rowboat, a couple of visits home to bag a backyard bunny with a firearm, and help from a professional trapper to harvest beaver they knew were there. How is that like the challenge faced by the young man who was dropped on a stretch of river 'where the fish don't swim?' Perhaps I digress: trolls are not moved by facts...just by their own feelings and needs.

My only criticism is for the show itself. I mean for those like Carleigh. If they could just get her the medical attention she needed without giving her any food, then let her go back! I think it's more than fair to send people on home when they want to go because they're missing their family, or when they're starving or whatever. I just think it's unfair when they have to go home for something that can be taken care of medically within a day or two. Kudos to everyone involved because I definitely could never attempt something so brave.

I totally agree with this Brooke. I was visiting a famous ranch in Tennessee, and on the last day, I wanted to take a walk in the woods....ended up very lost and very alone, with NO supplies....very humbling indeed. I refound civilization 12 hours later....thank gosh. I can totally relate to ALL of you out in the wild, even though in many cases, it was by your own choosing. I am learning a lot about how to survive, both in the wilderness, and in the "real world" as some of us call it. The "real world" is out in the wilderness. Bless you Brooke and your fellow friends.

I just watched Survival Lilly, who by the way is awesome and works hard to produce quality videos to share with the world,.... lay out the exact same thing. There will always be haters. It is one thing to participate with armchair advice and angles...it is called being engaged....it is entirely another to spew hateful, mindless and cold garbage. It is funny that you address this issue today as I just showed my daughter an episode of Alone an hour ago and told her, "this lady (you) is a beast....she is awesome." I have raised my daughter to love the outdoors. She is an awesome huntress and fly fisherman. She was immediately drawn in to the series and was so impressed with you. Keep on keeping on.

Nicole has nothing to prove to anyone season 2 says it all. She is an over comer. Just to attempt this again is very brave. I'm 54 and I KNOW I would not last more than a couple weeks if I was in best possible shape and training. If I made it 7 days it's celebration time baby! I could not win this competition though. I don't think the keyboard commandos realize the SUCK you would be in after just a few short days out there. I was excited to see Jesse make some good kills on the hunt. If he can continue this and hold up he will do well. Finding and securing the game is key but difficult as Brad realized. Good luck to the other remaining 6 because Girl will be tough to beat ;-)

I'm 59 and still have to test myself with attitude and judgment. I try to remember that events in life may have made someone I judged the way they are, shootings, death,etc. so as you say..GRACE. now I try my best to change someones bad attitude into a living example that maybe one day they will see it and try to be better. we only have one life and you may not get a chance tomorrow to show the best you can be today. cheers
Love those armchair QB's telling everyone how it should be done. Most of them wouldn't have the courage to even give it shot.
some could do better with their eyes shut, too, if they have a bit of blubber. All that's required is get the tarp up, get a water source, get the sleeping bag under the tarp, crawl into it, and only come out for more water and to eliminate wastes. Just by knowing that much, you can last for 60 days, which would have beaten all but 10 out of 40 so far and doubtless will suffice to beat about 5 more this season.
Don't have time or a TV to watch this series, busy or out in nature. I do know I wouldn't put my health through something like that at present, nothing to do with courage. Plain reality. I've done some longer solo excursions, you're competing against your own strengths and weaknesses. It's a challenge.

This touched me to my core. I came across your channel last night and I have been binge watching ever since. I appreciate your spirit, your compassion and your positive outlook. My Mom passed from complications from MS. She struggled for years as a single mother with an 8 year old and passed when I was 32. I didn't even realize you were on Alone when I found your channel but I've followed and been in awe of everyone from Season 1. Putting out into the universe only good vibes and the best of GODs blessings for you and your family.

I'd never even watched Alone until this summer. I loved it and binged every season. You and Dave were amazing! I was awed by all your strength, knowledge, and creativity. Just recently I happened upon your You tube channel. I didn't realize at first you were Brooke from Alone but was just taken with your adventures. Love, love watching and learning various skills and ideas from you for camping. As a believer it is refreshing to see someone be thankful and bold enough to pray on camera before their meal. Stay safe and keep spreading Grace. It is much needed everywhere we are.
