One things must be kept in mind is Albanian is very dense as a language. There are so many articles and multisyllabic words that taking a breath anywhere decent is challenging. Also, let's not forget FIK uses a live orchestra which can be overwhelming if sound is is not managed properly. The revamp is much simpler and better.

Well, I am really glad that you like it overall. I agree with you though, that the outfit makes it seem a little old-fashioned, I preferred the one in an earlier performance of FiK. I totally adore this entry, how it changes up all the time, as well as Besas charisma and voice. It's most interesting to her your professional approach to the vocals, as those things wouldn't have occurred to me. As always, I really like how appreciative and humble you are.
I think the lyrics are really important for ESC!!! I get it, but I still think you should read them, but maybe at the end? after you watch the performance?

I have to admit, I took very little interest in Eurovision for many years, then last year a friend of mine back in Wales suggested we do a viewing party from our different sides of t'Channel. We actual had a load of fun. For this performance, I don't have the same insight into vocal techniques, but I totally agree that after that first chorus it really picked up. In fact the rhythm of delivery in the verses after that first chorus reminded me so much of some Tiziano Ferro tracks (not sure if you know his music, but I am quite a fan, and would recommend a listen :) ). The way she carried on despite almost falling was impressive, and when you spoke of Madonna's falls on stage, it reminded me of how at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards, where she lost a shoe, and decided that to'roll' with it and roll about on the floor, which became iconic overnight. All in all I really enjoyed this performance, which took a moment to warm up, but then hit it's stride. :) x

@@endermasa9451 I know the studi version and even tough it is better the live performance is the important part. Unfortunately she can't sing and is just shouting the song right in my face. I just feel like I heard such a song a thousend times before .. and most of them were at least able to sing .

The song does me thinking a little bit about Anxhela Peristeri with Karma from 2021. I think she has to wear a kind of the same outfit, but different enough from 2021.
I'm sure you are right - I think there was lots awry behind the scenes throughout this performance. Maybe Besa (and the bvs) had foldback probs at the start; when you mix for picture you could lift the string section as you see them; the piano / keys are too loud she's too low and before the rap there a 100Hz type buzz - something unplugged?? A great recovery from the stilly-stutter and certainly a great song. All best -

I know you don't usually react/review national final performances, but I'd love to see your response to that of Elsa Lila. She won FIK 2022 (although Albina won the "televote"), and was the crowd favourite of FIK 2023. Unfortunately neither the jury vote nor the televote reflect public opinion in Albania, and the festival is still highly corrupted. This is why they do not publish the full results of either vote! But I would love to hear your professional opinion on the performance of Elsa Lila - Mars :) thank you so much

Let's concentrate on vocal performance and speak about the musical and compositional elements of the lyrics and melody but concentrating on vocals.- vocal range, technique, pitch, volume, pronunciation, breath support, articulation, diction, resonance, vibrato, etc. I am not interested in hearing rhetorical comments on stage, dresses, makeup, shoes as all those can be changed. When it comes to vocal performance and delivery. The person can sing or not; period. Thank you!

This wasn't the winner's performance. This was her performance for the finale of FTK. I think the breathiness was because she was overcome with emotion or a difference in outfit from her first performance, because she was wearing something completely different the first time she performed this (night 1.)
Remember, her chest is all natural. Personally I think this song sounds like something Macedonia would have sent 10 even 15 years ago.

I watched few times the rapping section of the song and think it was a lip sync or video got AV-sync error. More likely the lip sync as sound quality did change. Maybe that's why Georgina thought it's vocally stronger part of the performance.
Compare to the semi final. She lipsynced it in the final

You can see the fire in the song but it needed a rework badly. Transferring to English was definitely better in terms of the musical flow. This is a great lesson, and early on so time to improve!
Last year's Albanian Festival had huge huge issues with the sounds in general. The amplifiers, speakers, microphones and all this sort of elements were all problematic. All the singers had issues on stage while performing.
I admit I was expecting more focus on her vocals rather then her outfit lol. Anyway you tried your best as a vocal coach lol.

at first i really didn't like this song especially cuz Albania is usually one of my favs and always sends smth interesting, but after watching all of the other contestants they simply had to pick her, everything else was even worse sadly

She had a different outfit when she first peformed it. You should check it out. There was probably a reason she changed it 😂
But let's be honest, the first outfit was better in a way, because she could move better in that dress. You can see the difference between the 2 performances.
Meanwhile there's a revamped version in English. The new mix is an improvement but she should stick to the original lyrics in Albanian. That sounds much better.
