Doesn’t everyone else just replace that old junk with Dakota Digital? Probably coulda got a whole new set up for the price of replacing those couple of gages...
Some people like the nostalgia look and update to 12v as I did. The only electronic device on my AD truck is the radio and AC, things that doesn't hinder the operation of the vehicle. Keep it simple and it won't fail you; fuel ,air and fire. When was the last time you've seen a 2003 Camaro, 1988 LeBaron, or a 1996 Thunderbird that wasn't at a junkyard? I've got a 2002 Ram dually that's about to get scrapped on account the electronics is all F'd up but otherwise runs fine.
@@pitstopranch1422you replaced the needle. Luckily I had two speedo's, didn't realize how delicate and small the stud is and broke it trying to remove the old needle. On the second one I just removed the needle from the chrome cover and glued it on.. I would like to know how to remove it properly so I'm the future I could decal the odometer.
Very helpful video - doing a similar project 47 GMC.
Would really liked to see the disassembly of the speedo, I don't know how to remove the needle and cap.
👍👍👍🤘
Where did you get your new speedo needle?
I'm sorry to say I do not remember.
National Parts Depot has them. They have several locations.
