As I've understood it... the Balloons are burdens, people wearing white represent those who can overcome their burdens (they always have less balloons), where as people wearing black are people who are overwhelmed by their burdens. NF is amazing with tying many of his songs and music videos together from one to another. A lot of us fans call experiencing this the "NF Journey".

He gets major anxiety in stage. You can see it sometimes when he shakes his hands in stage. Last year he went through a lot mentally and spent some time in a mental health facility. He has such strong morals. He's an open book when it comes to his mental health.

I’ve watched and listened to everything he has put out. There isn’t a single song I haven’t liked. It’s best to start from and work your way through but you can pick anything and I promise you won’t be disappointed. He’s just straight up full of talent.

Let me just start by saying that was a really good reaction! I've been following NF and have been a major fan of his for going on 6 years now and I tell you what it has been so much fun watching all the different reaction channels especially when they initially get introduced to his music. NF by far is in a league of his own and in his own lane with respect to the way he does music. To be honest where y'all are starting it's kind of difficult to explain everything as far as the symbolism in his videos because truthfully his whole catalog is connected from the very first album all the way to the last album he created. One thing that I certainly encourage y'all to do when you get time is to go back to the last two albums and listen to them even if you don't react to everything just listen to them before you go through the search. It will really really help you to connect the dots. His album therapy session will explain in a ton of detail why he deals with depression. And honestly the perception album which came right after that is just really really good! In the video y'all just did The Search the cage you can see in the background came from a song he did on the perception album called Outkast. The black balloons he always has with him symbolizes his burdens that are always hanging over his head. All I can say is enjoy the journey! I am 43 years old and have always enjoyed Hip Hop Even back in the day when the original hip hop artists were making it happen! But in my honest and truest opinion NF is the absolute best hip hop artist I have ever heard in my entire lifetime! To me he's like the Michael Jordan of Hip Hop. There's only one of him and will probably only be the only one ever like him! I look forward to future videos take care and God bless!

Usually to understand a music video you have to see other previous music videos. For example, the black balloons come out in Why, The search, leave me alone, and paid my dues. To understand the jail cell you have to see and hear outcast and to understand it you have to hear Intro 3. But I recommend ya go in order from the beginning with Intro, Mansion, wake up, Intro 2, Therapy session, how can you leave us, real, intro 3, outcast, outro, let you down, why and then the search. (there are many more songs but that can like an order to understand his songs) All his songs are connected.

You need to start from the beginning with the beginning with NF. With him it's like watching a movie series, you can't just jump into part 5 of it because you're going to miss a lot of Easter eggs or symbolisms etc that have happened previously.

The end of the video is him getting out of a dark place and running from his demons and he gets tired so he rests and his demons catch up him which some people can relate to that when they feel they need to stay occupied to run away from negative thoughts and when they get tired and rest that's when that evil in you starts getting louder and louder
Hey, so all of NF's songs/videos are intertwined and connected. So if you wanna get to know him and understand everything in his newer video's, then you need to go back and start from the very beginning. Start with his first album Mansion (2015), go on to his second one Therapy Session (2016), then his third album Perception (2017), and finally his latest album The Search (2019). Then he has singles like Let you down (2017), No Name (2018), Lie (2018), The Search (2019), When I grow up (2019), Time (2019), and Leave me alone (2019).
So when it comes to NF there's a certain way to listen to his music because it's a storyline. I'm going to provide you with the correct list of songs for you to listen to this storyline.

If you go back to the beginning of the video you’ll see a cage/cell that he’s walking from. That’s from his Perception album. His albums are like chapters of his life and so listening to them out of order can for sure be confusing. NF personifies his emotions as if they’re people. “Is it me or the fear talking? I don’t know anymore” etc. his first album was Mansion. He considers his mind to be a mansion of emotions that live in different rooms (parts) of his house (brain). In this song “had to see a therapist and I found out. Something funny’s going on up in my house.” And he points to his head. He struggles with letting go of really difficult things in his past and being happy or continuing to live in these emotions to help people through his music. Therapy Session is the second album. Music IS his therapist. Perception is the cell of emotions he’s trapped in. The Search is Nate letting go of his balloons (burdens). This was a crash course but I hope it helps. It’s all twenty times deeper than I can ever really explain. During perception Nate did four tours in a year. Three of his own and one joint one with logic. His mental state is wasn’t in the best place as a result. He talks very openly about his life which has had some serious tragedies that Nate will tell much better than I could. Enjoy NF. he’s an amazing artist and human.
In the clip he came out of the prison that was behind him, he was in that prison that's from the outcast song. He came out with a cart and the balloons, the balloons are his bales/problems, the cart I interpret as a small prison, he came out of the larger prison but even outside it he still feels stuck, so he sits in the end inside the cart. The people in white I have the following interpretation, he makes a criticism. People in white are wearing black balloons, which could say that society pretends to be fine (white clothes) but in the background they are not (black balloons). And he all in black would be to show that he didn't pretend to be well, he shows that he's bad and needs help, but now he's looking for help, and now he's looking for the map of hope.
His balloons are his burdens. The cage, bench, and cart,etc. all are from different videos. The people wearing white, if you look carefully, also have black balloons. It is there to represent(since he wears black almost exclusively in his videos) that even if you, or someone else, are/is wearing white on the outside (looks happy) you still have stuff inside you (black balloons represent burdens)
