    My camera can only go up to 60 fps, but it works very well for me! It is amazing how much the slow motion can really enhance travel videos! I'm really excited for the announcement! I'll be tuning in on Wednesday!

      Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you tried - Riddleagan handling camera Remedy (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good one of a kind product for learning dslr video tricks minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate at very last got cool results with it.

    So I was shooting 60fps consistently on my GoPro. Then slowing it down in editing for slow motion. It made it easy to edit later and my DSLR will only do 60fps. I was worried that my thinking was off when others kept saying 24fps only. Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to stick with 60 till I get a new camera.

    Hey Greg, this is a beautiful video. Amazingly shot. you are definitely subscribed. I have a query- What should be the best camera settings I must use outdoor during cloudy weather and even during sunshine. I have Canon 200 D which I want to put to use for filming my travel videos going forward. Though I am not very impressed with 200 D because SL2 does not shoot videos in 4K, secondly, the video quality looks noisy and shooting indoor in artificial light makes it worse even I am using ISO at 100. Please guide. Thanks, You got a beautiful channel 😀

    Thank you very much for the video! I am using the iPhone for filming, so 60 fps is max. Would you recommend to shot a-rolls in 60 fps and after bing it down to 30, or only shoot b-rolls in 60 fps?

    I wanna know one thing like when you walk and talk in which frame rate are you shooting do you shoot at 90fps and edit at 30fps real time for walking talking part or do you only shoot 90fps for slow Mo or b roll and for walking talking at 30fps it would help me alot if could tell bit about it thanks😊

    Great vlog and info as always mate. Especially around the FPS. Do you shoot drone footage at 90 as well? Hope I can do next years retreat, I think that coincides with my buying a house (been saving hard) so may not depending on cost and location. Fingers crossed!! That outro sequence was awesome... may have to try that in Thailand! Cheers Jase

    30 FPS as a base frame rate makes sense, given that most TVs or service providers telecast at 60 HZ or 120 HZ. It's just sensible.

    • @gregsnell
      @gregsnell  Před 4 lety +1

      No that's correct, no sound recording with the VFR. It also is only available in 1080 8bit. I still love the playback though and it's fine for YT vids and even a lot of high frame rate sequences for clients.

  • @TheNonsenseAdventures
    @TheNonsenseAdventures Před 4 lety +1

    Yaas man. Again you just make things simple to get your head round. I shoot 60fps majority of the time, even talking parts. (why the talking parts? Because I know if I swap to 30fps, I'll forget to swap back to 60fps and I'll miss something epic.... God damn fomo!!)

    @oneeyedphotographer Před 4 lety +1

    North America, Japan, I think South Korea and a South American country do NTSC. Everyone else, China, India and all of Asia, all of Africa, Oceania, they're all PAL.
    I saw a news report a night or two ago which looked like it came from US TV and was shot in NTSC. It was gross, Scott Morison and POTUS were blue, certainly Not The Same Colour as intended.
    USA mains power is 60 Hz, that's why it chose 30 FPS.
    I'm in a TAFE course for people learning to be professional photographers. We were taught to set our cameras to PAL, 1080p25 because that's our national broadcast standard.
    USA broadcast standard is 1080p30, judging by a CZcams video I watched about preparing an ad for TV broadcast.
    To me, shooting at 90 FPS is weird. Compared with 25 FPS, it's near enough four times what I'd shoot at. That means four times more SD card storage, four times more risk storage in my PC and on my notebook, four times as much archival storage.
    I think a lot of CZcamsrs use too many and too much effects. Everyone uses 2x slowmo, it gets boring. How about being more subtle about it, smaller speedups, smaller slowdowns.
    CZcams and social media generally don't care, but last week I was in and around Port Gregory, Kalbarri with some others, most had no internet at all, some had a pretty feeble connexion. PAL would be better there than 30FPS.

    Hi and thanks for sharing your opinion. I am very frustated, I want to to film in Europe in 30 fps but I can't. I don't like 25 fps, I think it looks a bit choppy.. And for no flickering, it's 25 or 50 fps. 50 fps is too much and I would like to film in 30 fps but no, I can't take a decision.. :(
    I could put 1/50 or 1/100 on my GoPro in 30 fps for no flickering but with the stabilisation, it looks ugly to put a shutter speed not in auto !

    • @benkalios6191
      @benkalios6191 Před 2 lety +1

      @@yxsufsk are you sure that it will not be choppy with this solution ? It seems that 60 to 30 should be right but 50 to 30, I’m not sure about the result
