- With the fear of losing power with this huge storm coming we played it safe and went to the cottage and well we made the best of it!

It’s so awesome that you can watch what is happening at the cottage you had a lovely property .Where in Ireland are you I’m from Co.Donegal but living in Pennsylvania USA. over 30 years haven’t be back to Ireland since December 2019.But we lived very close to a lake .

You went from one beautiful place to another beautiful place but I think Nova Scotia would be much more remote than Galway it didn’t look like there was any neighbors near you and I’m sure the winters were not great at least in Ireland there’s not much snow .Hopefully your very happy in Ireland .Ireland is a beautiful country .You both did amazing work to that property.Did you visit Ireland and then decide to stay there?
@@margaretcaponigro1507 Hi, No we knew Ireland since 1976 and we loved it ever! We almost get a house in 1998 in Ireland. But then Ireland joined the EU and the prices skyrocket!😳 In 1999 we found that place in Canada and it was more in our price range. From there on we put every single Cent in to that property and worked thousands of hours! Only Marisa and me! The idea was to move to Nova Scotia after retirement. Nova Scotia won’t give you a chance to move in!!! Even if we spent almost a Million Dollars! We had everything there! Then some fine people break in to the house, while we was back in Switzerland working. AND IT WAS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE! 🥲😤😭 Marisa didn’t feel safe anymore! Why so much nature around the house? I was in the 1980‘s a Safari Guide in Afrika. So we love nature! We had in Canada, Dear’s in front of the house, Racoons, Squirls and, and, and. So the new owner has other ideas 💡! That’s OK! Regarding the trees, I live in New York City, in Brooklyn. We have a 2-family brick corner property which had a huge tree (couldn't tell you what it was) that had been there for decades. But it was rotten at the core. My mom and I had been telling my father for years to have it cut down or at least cut back as its limbs were overhanging the sidewalk, gutter and intersection but he wouldn't touch it. Until one day following a nasty rain storm, we were awakened early in the morning by a loud crashing sound.
A huge limb had fallen into the gutter very narrowly missing a parked car. Fortunately, since it was quite early, there was no one about so there were no injuries to anyone. The car even managed to escape any damage but the huge limb fell in two large chunks just inches from its rear bumper. The house sustained no damage and neither did the fence but it all might have been quite different if it had fallen the other way or on the car itself or through our bedroom window or even on someone just walking across the street if it had been later in the day.
Dangerous trees and low hanging and wide spreading limbs need to be cut down and back for everyone's safety.
I think the people are right when they tell you to keep at least one of the bidets in a bathroom. What if there's another toilet paper shortage ? 😜
If you do remove for them you better save them because they might be worth a fortune soon.
Quite a storm there. I commend you on one of the most important things you did, building memories with your son. That's something he will always remember. Kudos my friend.

How blessed you are to have this beautiful ‘cottage’ to run to with all these storms. Want to especially thank you for the snowmobile ride… it’s been more years that I can count since I enjoyed that recreation! I can’t wait to catch your remodeling of the place. How lucky have you been to have that place to go to during the storms this winter. Most people aren't lucky enough to have a place that is off grid with a generator like that that runs the whole house. It was fun seeing you with your little man.

I really cannot fathom how you live in that climate! As a child I lived in New York and we had snow, which I was not very fond of. At age 11 we moved to California and now I live in Arizona where winters are awesome! Sunny and warm and dry.

I'm put my solar panels on another structure and not my roof.... If my roof gets damaged then I won't have to worry about removing the solar panels.... I enjoyed the video.....

So far I love all the trees that u took out.U r very good at what u do.When I first saw the property it looked sort of dumpy with all the trees.Since u cleared a lot of them out it looks so nice.

We had close to 30 inches crazy storm thank god light and fluffy snow. Thank god I have a diesel as well I was pushing with my v plow it was riding up over my hood crazy. Cottage looks so awesome

I'm just seeing these videos..it's so amazing..I'm looking at the house and sheds and all the wood..and wondering..did the owner build everything from the trees on the land..when was it built..how long did it take him to build it..did the raise children there..was it just a holiday home or permanent..the walk ways alone was so much work..how old were there..we need a book or documentary..and I'm so glad that your doing what you want with YOUR property and not listening to the haters and mister know it alls🏡💚🏡

Lucked out getting that place, so nice to have that retreat...sons adorable, I have a 5yr old that I love teaching and working with, I strive to make him a better, smarter man than myself. Always be grateful and enjoy the time we have brother, it goes to quick...oh, and should rig up one of those drawstring windshield wipers for that side by side have the boy pulling the string haha can't believe they don't have them
