Remember when Corazon found out that they were solid gold coins and not just gold plated
"less laboured and resentful please"
-Johnny Chiodini, patron saint of tired DMs and harried childminders
Luke, as Prudence, is the manifestation of "Drive it like you stole it"
I'm pretty sure if Dob got Egbert's body, he would be trying every single spell that the paladin has in his arsenal.
Every time I watch this, all I can see is Dob wanting to push all the warlock buttons while trying to have all of his bard spell spots. Like Luke was having way too much fun as an evil character with evil spells.
IMO Prudence's clothes aren't itchy but Dob feels like they do cuz he is not used to have a clean and sensitive skin 😂
Prudence's rage stems from never having used fabric softener.
Prudob: "i walk up to rufus"
Egazón: "looks worried"
Prudob: "dont worry" *immediately summons lesser demon* 😂
18:24 -18:31 Merilwen's, "I'm sorry, but you are going to have to sort this out *now* because I'm not going around wearing these boots! What are THESE!?", had me in stitches.
This remains one of the best live shows of all time. Everyone rolled with each other's characters brilliantly, but special recognition to Ellen for going above & beyond in nailing Corazon! Confident Merilwen/Ellen is a treasure I never realized I needed.
For real. I thought she wouldn't be able to top drunk Merilwen, but here I stand corrected
Luke/Dob is the living embodiment of every player that refuses to read what their spells or abilities do and never understands how they work
Mike with Egbert knows EXACTLY what his spells do, and refuses to use them. The exact opposite lol
We never did find out what spell Andy discovers Mike has never mentioned at 15:44
I have a feeling it's dimension door, but they did a better joke with that one later.
9 months late (there's a joke I won't go into there) but is it specifically a spell? My bet would be it's the protection fighting style which he had since level 2. I believe Egbert has level 1 and 2 spells so it could have been ensnaring strike from the ancients list or possibly locate object from the level up videos. If we were to assume he had more spells than we know it's probably something like lesser restoration. My order of events is off but I think by this point the gang has seen Egbert use both his channel divinity options, moonbeam, misty step, find steed and zone of truth along with divine smite so it's presumably something else. It might even be that silent image spell Johnny let him have in the first recorded level up.
@@consolescrub4031 I’m pretty sure he hasn’t done the nature’s wrath channel divinity, nor do I remember him ever using smite.
@@christyencremins7676 He was going to use Nature's Wrath during the Gnome Sweet Gnome adventure (with the kobolds and the mind flayer) and he used the smite with his flame breath to cremate M Channail, I believe in Plunder Siege. More recently he also used it with a bomb at the Play Fight live show where (spoiler alert) he killed the VIP they were there to protect.
@@consolescrub4031 I really don’t remember him even mentioning it during gnome sweet gnome, nor do I remember him using smite to cremate Channail, but to be fair I haven’t watched Play Fight anywhere near as many times as I’ve watched the rest of the episodes. I’m currently working through my seventh or eighth binge watching of the series.
Trying to make chainmail while listening to this. Keep creasing up while trying to put a rivet in.
Butted mail? Or pressed mail?

1:33:04 Johnny, idk why you're surprised. Bears are very good climbers
"What are you doing with a crowbar!?" Somebody has been playing Hitman recently
Or Project Zomboid!
Why do I suspect Johnny planned something very different
Speaking as someone who’s DM’d a few times, you usually do plan something and it usually ends up pretty different, going sideways preeeeeeetty quickly XD
@@Storyman09 lol- same- it’s gotten the point I’ve stopped planning outside of a very rough outline
I'm a little bit gutted that moving the videos to the new channel cost us all of the old comments. I used to love scanning them to see what peoples' favourite moments were.
Some of them have transferred, not sure what the difference is or if it's just a waiting game.
@@michaelpirrone Apparently there were some technically limitations on how the original had been uploaded. Premiers and streams can't be transferred.
@@D.J.Berryman that's a shame.
@@D.J.Berryman Thanks for the explanation; at first I thought all the old comments on all the videos were gone. It's still sad not to be able to see the old comments for the premiers and streams, but I'm really glad we still have them for the other videos. Like you, I love rereading the comments, no matter how much time has passed
@@dallydaydream Maybe you could tweet at them, see if they can set the old ones to unlisted rather than private? They may not have realized how much hard-core fans appreciate the comments
Oh.. If you're gonna Tweet, though, best do it quickly while the website's still around...
"Give us all your hair." I was rolling
I love how Jane/Prudence is constantly clutching Dob's lute throughout the episode, like she doesn't know how to hold it properly, but knows it's important to Dob so doesn't want to break it
I've been watching these in order (i'm late to the party) the past week and I definitely swore when Luke as Prudence decided to cast summon greater demon since actual Prudence hasn't ever done that previously. Really loving this one, and I do love them all. I love Luke and Andy looking through the paladin stuff and being confused and also unsurprised that Mike doesn't really read any of it, or use any of the magic he can do.
They're all pretty lazy, tbh. Only the girls have read their skills it seems.
"Dob" doing the apple bobbing, using sleight of head. It's a good job Johnny didn't ask if they have proficiency in head...
I mean, Dob is a bard...
I still find it funny how Andy also gave up on being a paladin (There was a minor snafu in that Johnny apparently doesn't know that Fiend is an umbrella term encompassing Devils, Demons, Daemons, etc. but Johnny still let Andy roll so its fine), and just went back to being Corazon.
There's quite a few rules Johnny doesn't really know
@@omni-nerdno7191 i think thats what makes it fun. It just feels like friends playing dnd rather than some strict rules as written boring campaign.
@@acelilumelody4445 I do agree that this series going a little off the rails is what makes it fun to watch. When playing though, I've found by the book campaigns can be plenty of fun.
15:00 This was such good acting, I was howling with laughter! Honestly, even if you look at moments just before she spoke like at 14:30 and14:38, her posture and the way she was holding out her hand reminded me of the countless times I've noticed Corazon's multitude of rings precisely because of how he holds up his hands.
Every time i rewatch this, i wonder how Luke and Mike have survived to .... physical maturity. Luke doubly so. .... Luke IS Dob.
It's easier to RP a character that is basically you. ☺️
I always get mad at Dob for his choices, but almost immediately after, I can't help but laugh as we all know that Luke is just trying to be his best Dob for all of us and I love it. Except when he constantly tries to be the treasurer, I don't know why, but that's the only thing that really piss me off when he just hands over the whole groups savings like it's endless.
1:50:02 (Missed) Call of Cthulhu.
3:48 Little foreshadowing there, Egbert...
You are a genius
Really appreciate these reuploads in a playlist. Good excuse to watch them all again 😂
Ayy, that's where Dreadbert came from!
13:46 Behave Merilwen! Bodyswap etiquette!
19:32 Emotional support lute, emotional support seal
I would do the same as Merilwen if I bodyswapped into Corazon tbh
46:36 It's a lovely morning in the village and you have summoned a horrible goose.
Was seeing if the duck fight happened to fall on one hour irl (which would have been hilarious if timed right). It didn't, but that single throwaway line took 40 minutes of the session. That is one of the most spectacular derailings I've ever seen. 🤣
Ah yes- this was great to see live (or at least as a debut). A truly classic Oxventure episode!
do not mess with me, i have the power of cthulu and anime on my side!
This is still one of my favourite episodes of oxventure
I feel for Johnny, this whole thing was a derailment.
Derailment that he caused
@@theviking1359 Hey, I didn't say it wasn't their fault. That just makes it funnier!
The whole Oxventure is one big derailment after the next, they managed to temporarily save the world from an apocalypse by doing a tribute of a Robin Williams movie, I mean...
Brackish doesn't mean "dirty", It's the team for water that is between a body of salt water and a body of fresh water.
I bet Johnnie was giggling maniacly at the idea of this.
I need another bodyswap episode immediately
Original Air Date: Oct 31, 2021
Well, that was the date it was filmed, it didn't appear on CZcams until quite a while afterwards...
@@GriffinWolf This is the date the original video was published on Outsidexbox, but is was deleted and reuploaded to this channel in September 2022. I believe it was filmed on October 9th 2021.
1:35:50 Egbert's murder kit
"Sort of fists but the knuckles are on the other side because he's punched so many people in his life."
Wat?
Ohhh my god! It’s a freaky Friday episode. 😂 absolutely perfect.
What was Johnny's plan if they didn't summon a duck?
did...did his name change from Rutger to Rufus?
glad i am not the only one xD
Prudence basically has a "Create boss fight" spell
I love confident merilwen hahahaha
I have dubbed this Merilwen as 'Merilzon'. 🙃
Missed an opportunity for "Dobbleganger".
Names for this game: Prudob, Egilwen, [Johnny], Merilzon, Dobence, & Corabert. Also, when Prudence gets her body back, Cthulhu is probably going "What in the name of ALL the infernal realms was THAT?!?!?!" i.e. a VERY confused Cthulhu -Dad.
that episode hurt I was laughing so hard.
It just hit me that Michael the pool satyr sounds a lot like Moss from the IT crowd. 😆
I present:
Prudob
Eggwen
Merilzon
Dobence
Corabert
Edit: i did this before hearing coralwen
I just really love how they already lose it within the first 9 minutes
One of the best ones
So when shall they run into Rufus again?
1:33:05 I thought bears do have opposable thumbs... at least pandas do...
I liked the new group dynamic. It just would have been nice, if Dob (as Prudence) would be more blood thursty. But his demon summoning was quite on point. 😂😂
If only it hadn't been a complete rug pull for a spell Jane hadn't yet revealed to the group
Whelp I don’t know what post orbpocalypse episodes I’ve watched
Guess I’ll watch them all to make sure I haven’t missed any
That's the spirit
Drunkilwen
Why is Merilwen Scottish in this one? 🤔
55:46, 57:14, 58:16
What happened to Andy toward the end of Orbpocalypse? He looks so worn out…
29:58 Fun fact: green dragon's live in forests, and their favorite prey is elves. They're also the most manipulative dragons, occasionally going so far as to feign capture while they evaluate (and manipulate) their would-be captors. This does not bode well for Elfbert.
37:33 Further fun fact: green dragons sometimes stalk prey for days, planning the perfect assault.
41:50 Here's another fun fact: When outmatched, green dragons will pretend to back down and move on... while secretly nursing a grudge for decades, waiting for the moment they can swoop in and take vengeance.
TLDR: If Johnny doesn't use this dragon for something, then he's really wasting an opportunity.
48:42 Why roll for initiative? What Prudence can summon, Prudence can *Banish* .
In regards to the last one, Prudence has two spell slots. The first one was used for Spider Climb at the start, the second for the summoning. So no spell slots left
@@nataliemelody1501 That's true. At the time, I had trouble believing they were counting silly joke uses of spells as, well, actual canon.
That said, I believe Banish is also on the paladin spell list... which would be useful if Egbert prepared spells.
On a related note, it's cool that Prudence can summon _and_ banish a demon once per short rest (ie, once an hour). I wonder if she ever cuts loose and spams the combo?
@@No_Name_ProvidedIt would have been nicer to fake a fight with rather than when they helped Johnny's self- insert fake a resume by fighting her demon summon lol
29:00 GOD DAMMIT! I WAS DOING SO WELL!
47:50 why did she sound Scottish for a moment?!😂
Ellen has scottish relatives and possibly ancestry.
Oh nice! I didn’t know that!
....I just lost the game.
...I bet you think you're funny, huh? HUH??? XD
@@BabyCatBanana Absolutely ;)
It was all fun and games until Jonny games us all...i lose damn you
