  • Janet Walker is a 73 year old Grandma who has dementia. Most days she is fine, but there are other days where she is confused, disoriented, and forgetful. On this particular day, she forgot to pay her check at a local restaurant. When a police officer confronts her about the incident, she denies any wrongdoing and evades the officer. The officer ends up having to use force while arresting the Grandma. Luckily a familiar face arrives on the scene and helps before things get out of control.

Grandma was so adorable. it's sad that it happens to a lot of grandmothers you watch the news and you see the elderly being attacked by police officers throwing them to the ground and hurting them. Sometimes killing them if they hit their head. They did it to a man who couldn't speak English. I love the message this video sent out. Thank you very much Wesley Parker for the video. 🌹

My Grandmother forgot how to swallow for a while. At first she "pouched" her food in her cheeks. They had to insert a tube in her stomach for a while. Fortunately, it came back to her and she enjoyed food and natural nutrition to the end of her life. She was just short of 101!

It could have been handled a lot better. He could have said "we have some people worried about you. I need to get you to safety." There is a BIG difference between protective custody and arresting someone.
I remember when I was a medical student they want to section this person to hospital in the USA you call it commit them. It was partly because this person was uncooperative. I came along and found out this person was a tourist from India and didn't speak English. If they bothered to check they would have realised this person was a doctor and was on medication for depression!!! Heaven knows what would have happened had I not come along!

It could have & has been handled alot worse since this is stolen from a real story. Only right here they tried to make it about race un the true story the old lady was white also here they said she just ran out without paying in the real life the lady tried paying after they stopped her she said she forgot to pay but they didn't let her & told her to leave then called the cops on her. Obviously in the real 1 the guy was more brutal with the old lady but thats because they're not gonna hurt a lady for real in a video but js the treatment was worse. Also no happy ending so far like we have here because in the real one the back up was not a savior it was someone who also helped restrain the poor old lady. But the absolute worse thing about it is since they're being sued the prosecutor got vids from the police cam & from the police station itself & in that video it shows that not only did the guy know she had dementia but he was making fun of it & bragging while watching the video like a someone would watching back a video of them scoring a big touchdown. During the video the guy put the ladys arm behind her back & pulled up so while hes watching it he says oh this is where I made it pop meaning when her shoulder popped out of place he kept showing different ppl all while they laughed about. Also the lady that was his back up at first u can see she didnt like what happened & probably felt bad but as the video goes on & shes talking shes asking if she did a good job or if she did enough etc.. so its apparent that this is thought & ingrained but also that not all cops start off bad they probably feel like they have to because of the whole blue shield stuff where u have to stick together even when theres wrong doing.

My heart cry's for both of the officers. In my circomstance I had to reverse all our door locks to keep my mom from exsapeing outside in the winter at night. She would pace the floors all day and night very little sleep. Some time she could talk plain and other times she spoke in touges. I truly know what unconditional love is. I miss both of them , but I will never do it again. The white officer didn't spend as much time with dad and was probably put in a care facility. The other officer grandma from what I can tell still lived in his house.

First of all it's not that easy to take care of someone especially given her age means most her kids if not all are living in their own home have jobs etc..so they might not even be aware of her condition. But if they do they might not have time to do babysit her 24/7 & if the got her a care taker again even if they stay with them it's hard to watch them every second they're just like kids u turn your back on them for 1 second and they could be gone or already made a mess etc... so they probably sneak off
