Pool looks great! Love the bee fly in the garden. I'm always impressed by how much you two get done. I just put a scrap bit of carpet on top of some scrap pallet as a (temporary) step into the garden shed we're almost done building...and I felt so accomplished!
I didn't make any coronation food...but I did get up in time to see King Charles investiture on live-stream. Hope he has a wonderful reign.
Pool looks very inviting, and I love all your flowers coming out. Cannot wait to get to my place in France to see if the roses and some things I planted last year are out. Nick the path looks great, I was just thinking what about a ramp and there you were building it both sides. Have a good week

Bricks from brico…who would of thought it. Whoever makes and sales the cement mixers in Europe must be damn rich. Seems everyone owns one. Great job Nick , love the ramp idea, but might I suggest you widen it cause I do t believe that is wide enough for a wheelchair.
Nick like the idea you both got to put a ramp down . Can not wait to see all the flowers this Summer looks like lots of colour.
Wonderful work, both of you. It's such a good idea putting in ramps. If you don't me saying, it may be the camera but the ramps seem a bit narrow..if ever someone with a wheelchair uses it, it seems a tight fit...optical illusion?

One good thing about the French tax system, you can at least get a rebate on the cost of your insulation and any other eco measures. Hope you kept your receipts!

For your gravel paths etc just pour ordinary household salt on it it kills all weeds but don’t put it where you want flowers to grow

I'm sure you've heard about renting to squatters being a problem in France, just wanted to give you a heads up that a YT'er that vlogs about their French chateau, just did a vlog on an attempted squatter, they recently dealt with. Just a heads up since you have spoken of gite rental. The steps look really sharp.

Clare, with your family background in gardening and landscaping (if I remember correctly) do you ever ask advice, or do you two plan that aspect of the property renovation all on your own? Because it looks so beautiful and professionally done.

Yes my parents did have garden, aquatics, landscaping business for many many years. Sometimes I ask advice mainly from mother dearest. But a lot of the time I kind of go with my own thing and think of seasons, heights of things and colours. Some of it is complete trial and error. But I am lucky enough that if I need any expert advice I can call upon it, so I count myself lucky. Lots more planting to go still... yay! all the best Clare x
