    Hello Pete ! Really enjoy your videos ! Between Sagola mini and Dv1s which is better regarding finish ? I only spray wheels and i use 75% solvent base paint and 25% waterbase ! Cheers

      Hi mate, The DV1s would take it. The Sagola is better for larger areas for a mini anyway, as it puts out more material.
      If your mobile, the Sagola also uses a lot of air, again for a mini, so that's something else to consider.
      Glad you enjoy the videos 👍

      Hi Mate, This will spray both clear coat and base coat. They do make an HVLP version, but the one in this video isn't HVLP. It's the DVR cap, which is regular pressure 👍

    Pete: It's never been obvious to me at what temps paint flows out "better". If the paint is cold, then it's more viscous so will flow out slower, but if the paint is hot, then it will flash faster and therefore not have the time to flow out. Confusing. Nice flowers on the bench BTW.

      @peteshobbies5383  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi Ken, Yes, it's more clear coat that benefits, I do warm basecoat up as well now these days but that's more to, as you say, allow it to go off quicker which does help with cleaner paint jobs.
      Certainly, for clear coat it makes a lot of difference, some clears reward you more than others by heating but it's beneficial in most cases, I find

    I know you love Meiji but I'm firmly in the Sagola camp Pete. At one time I was REALLY into Sagola until Elcometer doubled the price of these guns. No plastic, no gaskets. I have an 80 gallon two stage 5HP compressor so I don't care about the air usage. Compared to a SATA it's an air miser

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi mate, I was the same really with regards to being firmly in the Sagola camp, very well made, reliable, and great performance, but the huge price hike has really taken the edge off for me.
      Of course, the guns haven't changed, but I now look at all the others out there that are cheaper and IMO stiff competition for the Sagola, so it's not so clear-cut as it was, cheers 👍

    Hi Pete, cracking finish from the Sagola mate it really laid the clear down lovely and flat oh and yeah I am that person who is obsessed about getting a flat finish and I often wish I wasn't 🙄to me the 1.2 put the clear on better than the 1.0 but that might just be due to the colour or that it was a flowcoat🤔
    I'll be posting a video (I hope) later today using the 1.3cc again and this time I used the Sata RPS pot but I'm not sure if it was this that helped as I changed a couple of things which you shouldn't do, I was chatting to a couple of people about the 1.3cc and was told this tip needs a tighter overlap and to spray a bit closer, anyway mate it would be interesting to hear your thoughts if it was better or not🤔thanks Pete👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi John, I think the main reason the 1.2 came out better was conditions, the gold tank was done in winter so around 10c from memory, the other one was in late spring/summer time so much warmer so easier to lay it on, and as you say, it's a flow coat so should be flat.
      This gun has really grown on me and is a firm favourite now, although I can't forgive it for its silly air consumption for a gun this size and the prices they now command.
      I'll keep a look out for your video, mate. I'm looking forward to it. Cheers 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah it's surprising the difference the conditions make not just the temperature but the humidity can also effect the paint finish, I really like the look of your Sagola mate they are a nice looking gun, so do you think it's better than the DV1S? can't remember if you did a head to head video on these two guns Pete 🤔
      New gun day today mate, hope to post some pics of it later but I'm sure you know what gun I'm on about😎🧐👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @JohnWD40TC02 Hi John, Yes, it all contributes to the finish, I'm pretty sure in the case of these two, it's the fact that the latter is a flow coat, it's always been the way custom painters get there smooth finishes, although many, including me often use just one full coat for the final finish if your after the flattest possible, it's all you need bearing in mind there's clear on there already.
      I'm struggling to think what the new gun could be, we have seen the CC setup and the Fuji, so I'm not sure, I guess I'll find out pretty soon 😉 😅

    So my compressor is rated @ 7.7 cfm @ 40 psi and 6.2 cfm @ 90 psi.. is this gun too much for my compressor to handle ?

      @peteshobbies5383  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi buddy, yes, with the EPA cap, your compressor should be fine with this gun. They are good guns, well made, and they perform well , it only the air consumption that let's them down for a mini, cheers mate 👍

      The W300WB or Kiwami3 WB uses, according to Iwata 6.71cfm at 22psi , I would say it's a little more than that but not by much so you should still have enough air as the WB guns don't need high pressure

      It's not that easy to find, I'm guessing at the Kiwami 3 WB but it's going to be right as it's exactly the same cap as the W300WB apart from the thread, tip air holes are also the same and I do have a factory sheet on all the W300 series so I know these factory figures

      Hi mate, I guess Sagola choose to make it a bit bigger than a mini gun as they have the 475 which is quite small, I really have no idea why they made the air consumption so high and that with the EPA cap, the HVLP version is frightening considering the size of the gun.
      They are actually very good although getting expensive these day's in most countries 👍

      @refinishtechnology2529 Hi buddy, I get asked this a lot, so much so I've done a video of the two verses one another, so people can see the difference, don't get too excited though as it'll be a wile before it's on CZcams.
      I prefer the DVR Clear cap because I like a fast gun, and they both produce excellent quality finishes, so if you prefer taking your time, the Titania Pro cap is probably the one to go for
