I am so excited for you guys! I lived in a 1926 Dutch Colonial in NY that was way too big for us. My son got a job in NC and we have moved into a 1911 Vic. It was completely redone inside - but very contemporary. I am an Interior Architect/designer just starting to turn it into something with my own touches. You and Richard and his parents are going to live a wonderful life there.

Richard, everything is so meticulously done! SO EXCITING to see the similarities between our 1850s LR and your 1850s LR! We have a coffered ceiling too. Saving these to help us as we reset our place too! ❤

😂😂😂 The part where you didn’t want to find anybody at the bottom of the basement stairs and that’s where you keep your guns made me laugh out loud!!😂😂😂 But, seriously, thank you for saving this beautiful home. Too many people in my area are so quick to knock these gems down. I bought myself an old farmhouse and renovating it, too.

Absolutely wonderful repairing and rebuilding of the old home. Richard is very skilled in salvaging and restoring the place into the same time period. Great updating and I love the layout of both areas. Can't wait to see the finished home. Your backyard is a wonderful area and will be so serene and calming. Hi Michael- I love what Richard is doing with the house. I owned a Victorian Row House in Pittsburgh that was built in 1890. So much potential to those old Victorians especially if one has an eye for what it needs. Thank you for showing us!
What a beautiful tour of your home Michael and Richard! From the first time you took us on tour Michael & Richard up until I watched this new video, I couldn't believe the work and restoration that Richard has completed thus far, Wow! It's a painstakingly, and very hard work to do, yet at the same time to watch your own accomplishments of craftsmanship that you complete is extraordinary self satisfyingly gorgeous! I also agree with Richards mother and you Michael on the wallpaper going up the stairs, but you could at least put it on the right side of the entryway. Myself, I probably would do both sides in a "Victorian Rose Bouquet" in a lighter color pattern from that time period to bring out your wood tones for that "Grand Entrance" in such a marvelous 1886 home! I know it is hard work doing the "Grand Staircase" with wallpaper Richard, but what a statement piece it would make, and of course its just an opinion, and as we know everyone has one, lmao! Can't wait to see more video Michael, and you do it justice with your steady hand! What a team you two make together~

Such a beautiful home! I also noticed the bevelled glass in the front door and the gorgeous light shining through it. There is lots of natural light all over your house. I am amazed at the work and design that must have gone into this project. Can't wait until you both are putting on the finishing decorating touches.

Richard is a master carpenter and thank God he saved this astounding house from demolition. And is putting it back together as original as possible. I just love people who respect old craftsmanship and preserve it. Makes my heart happy. He is a book of knowledge as he walks around talking about his plants and stonework is there anything ge cant do? Fantastic

I love the character you are keeping in the home. The yard in back looked so peaceful with the fountain and lawn space. Where are you doing all the cutting of the wood moulding? The lathe wall is a unique touch. Love it all!
Thank you! I had a wood worker friend that reproduced a lot of the molding from the original house. He has since passed away. I have been doing the remainder on site.
