  • As many of you know, we love an awesome Canada road trip. We've done many, including our "famous" 150-day road trip across Canada back in 2017. It's our favourite way to explore Canada and something we highly recommend everyone do, whether it's a couple of days or a couple of months.
    From east to west and from north to south, there are many incredible road trips in Canada. In this video, we talk about 11 of our favourite Canada road trips, and why we love them.
    If there are any others you recommend in Canada OR if there's any of these you'd love to do, please leave us a comment!
    We've also written about them on our website: www.mustdocanada.com/canada-r...

We camped in Gros Morne National Park and drove all over Newfoundland from the from L'Anse Aux Meadows to St Johns and the Eastern point of North America. I did this trip a few years ago where I started at the very bottom of Younge Street at Lake Ontario and I followed Younge Street all of the way to the Manitoba Border. Thank you for this interesting list of road trip recommendations. We love to travel in Canada (we are from Germany) and have seen almost 2 thirds of this list and we agree. Hope to do some more in the next years.
    We‘d like to add on tour for you: We did the Lighthouse Route all around Nova Scotia incl. the Cabot Trail (took us 3 weeks). If I remember well, it was the old Hwy No. 3 which runs along the coast line and through all the small coastal towns and villages. We tried to „collect“ as many old and new lighthouses as possible and it was a gorgeous trip. Definitely a candidate for your list.
    Thank you for you videos, we will use them as a guide for our next trips.

      @MustDoCanada  Před 4 lety

      Oh, wow, that sounds awesome. Many of these were done in 2017 when we did our 150-day road trip and surprisingly, we had little time. So we need to go back. The lighthouse rote sounds great. I wonder if u can spend the night in some of them?

    • @stephanberger7455
      @stephanberger7455 Před 4 lety

      Must Do Canada : No, we stayed at pre-booked hotels, really sweet little guesthouses. But we had the chance to visit a lot of these lighthouses, some are now private museums with volunteers who can tell you everything about the lighthouse, it‘s keepers and the fisherman living and working in the area. But at one lighthouse we were offered to come back and stay a week in the former lighthouse keepers home. Really nice! But we didn‘t make it back up to now.
      We wondered why these old wooden lighthouses are only used as museums or cafes. Here in Germany - I bet - you‘d have the chance to rent them for a romantic wedding ceremony.
      This year there was no chance to come back to Canada, but next year - when I‘ll celebrate my 60th birthday - we will visit Newfoundland a second time. Maybe for the Iceberg Festival (I saw a really nice YT video about this festival on this channel ;-)).
      Stay healthy and please continue making such beautiful videos!

    Awfully hard to limit it to 11 in Canada but you the 11 you have is a damn, fine start. I was surprised the Gaspe Peninsula never made the list. Also the Cliffs of Fundy just got named a UNESCO World Geopark and is well deserved. It is spectacular but not well known area along Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy. The drive is very nice but to really take advantage of that area requires timing the tides correctly (very important considering they are the world's highest tides) and hiking the ocean seafloor near the base of the cliffs at low tide.

    I have just started watching your videos and I must say that I am impressed. Personally, I have been across a vast swath of this country by vehicle be it a commercial truck or personal vehicle from Vancouver to the New Brunswick border. I have been to pretty much every corner of Quebec and Ontario including the James Bay territory and as far north in Ontario that you can drive. Having seen what I have I would not put one part of the country ahead of the other because it is so diverse. Two areas that I consider must-see would be Ontario's Superior route and Quebec's Gaspe peninsula which I would compare to the Cabot Trail.

      Thank you. That means a lot. Yes, so many people have recommended those two drives. Hope we can do them this year, but so far, it looks like next year is more likely

    We done the south of Toronto to the Cabot trail and a circle around NS Peggy's cove another...The smart thing we done was Camped on the Island of Cheticamp Got up early morning Grabbed coffee and some of the best Pastry we ever had at the Cheticamp bakery As we headed out to the Cabot Trail Wonderful mist lined the valley lush green trees A few moose off to the side grazing And the ocean backdrop It was a great memory The other was the long drive home By montreal i swear i seen a Police car with 2 moose on the roof for sirens lol
    30 days from today We are going From Toronto to Victoria with many stops along the way My Girlfriend is from the Philippines (11 years in Canada) In the time she has been here She has seen As far north as Sudbury down Ottawa to Windsor west to Tobermory Last weekend in Long point
    Montreal x2 Quebec city, Levis, all stops on route 2 in NB And a circle in NS
    She met the queen of England from a friend that owned horses at the queen's plate And really i think shes more becoming Canadian then me
    Hope you have More videos coming Maybe a video on the Metis And Native peoples of Canada?

      Wow, you've seen a lot of Canada! That trip to Cabot Trail sounds amazing. It really is gorgeous. We would LOVE to go back one day soon. We also wanna do the Lake Superior circle tour. haha the Queen of England? Wow. that's crazy! We've been reaching out to the indigenous tourism board and trying to work out a project with them. It's been hard but we hope so soon!

      Sounds awesome, also near Chetticamp is an fairly-arduous mountain hike into Pollet's Cove which opens up into a spectacular valley that is like finding Shrangi-la when you reach it.

    • @MustDoCanada
      @MustDoCanada  Před 4 lety +1

      Mainly flat tires, cracked windshields, and what not. We didn't find it too bad but it can get worse with the big trucks going up and down, or after rainfall

  • @MrShortWhiteGuy
    @MrShortWhiteGuy Před 4 lety +1

    I often wish every Canadian province would rename the Trans-Canadian highway as route 1. Then I wish Canada would create a second Trans-Canadian highway going from the U.S. Border to the Arctic Ocean and call it Trans-Canada Highway 2 replacing much of Alberta Highway 2, Alaska Highway, and the Dempster Highway.
