- In this video we show you how to build and install an inline thermometer on a Brewzilla system. You can also build something similar for a Grainfather or other brewing system by changing a few pieces. I find that during chilling the wort the readout on the Brewzilla isn't always accurate so having a second thermometer that you can monitor is very handy.

NIce idea! Thanks

Awesome idea! I've seen that before on my friends wood boiler but never thought to incorporate it on the Brewzilla. For sure going to be doing this. Thanks!
Cheers!
I prefer pipe dope to teflon tape.
I think its better and easier to use.
This is a really good hack.
I am also going to put one on the output of my countertflow chiller.
Never heard of pipe dope before. Well not for this application anyway :P
@@graintoglass Pipe dope, or Pipe Joint Compound, is a type of paste that you brush on to the threads of something that you want to be water tight. You can use it in place of Teflon tape in a lot of plumbing applications. However, I just got through reading the MSDS from Mill-Rose, the manufacturer of Blue Monster Brand plumbing products, which says that their "pipe Dope", or pipe joint compound, is carcinogenic, but it also says that it is designed to be used on potable water systems. Soooooo....do as you will. Me personally, I don't like the idea of it being used on the "hot-side of beer brewing. For the following reasons: 1) Wort is hot and that can effect the solubility of harmful chemicals in the joint compound. 2.) Wort is acisic, slightly, again possible situation where solubility of harmful chemicals could be increased. 3.) The wort is under pressure in this case. Again...potential for increase of solubility of harmful chemicals from the joint compound into the wort.
Oh boy can't wait to nab one of these.
