In this video, you will see the door and frame preparation, installation, and three dimensional adjustment (horizontal, vertical and in/out -closing pressure) of the concealed hinge, TECTUS®.
Eight years ago, SIMONSWERK introduced an innovative concealed hinge, TECTUS®, which allows the adjustment of a door in three dimensions (horizontal, vertical and in/out -closing pressure) by simply turning an Allen wrench. This feature provides a simple way to create a perfect margin between the door and the frame, which supports superior functionality and appearance of the entire door unit. In addition, the TECTUS® hinge receives consistently great feedback from architects and designers worldwide regarding its "clean" look, which hasn't been matched by any other manufacturer. One of the most prestige's projects where the TECTUS® hinge has been used is the Armani hotel in the Burj Khalifa, Dubai. Another example of one of our high profile projects is the "Apple stores". The TECTUS® hinge is specified for the doors in all Apple new stores. The TECTUS® hinge is UL listed and is available in different versions for different sash weight applications (up to 200 kg / 440 lbs.). This hinge can be also used for exterior doors, such as entry and patio doors.
Finally I can lock my wife and kids in the house. Been having a problem with them trying to escape and last time they popped the hinge pins out. This will keep them in their dungeon.
great video + presentation! thanks for sharing!
to be precise when adjusting the position in height of the door: the screw at the bottom is for lifting the door, the screw at the top for lowering the door. Dont use both together!
And if you did tighten that screw too much, so it fell through the hole out to the back, you did not damage it. Unscrew the plate and and put it in again.
thanks for sharing.
In a perfect world God bless……
In UK this jig costs £520. Cheap as chips. Also Could you upload link where it shows hoe to use it on door frame?
Do you install the hinges into the door first or the frame? Does it matter?
The video shows into the door first, any trick/ advice ?
How much of a gap do you leave between the bottom of the door and the floor/threshold?
Wow 👌👏👏👏
So, how does this template work on rebated jambs then?
Was considering these for a hidden bookcase doorway in master closet; question is whether these will work with the bookcase being flush mounted against the wall? The doorway is behind the bookcase and it swings outwards; currently just have standard hinges in place for test fitment but thought these would really work well and make it unnoticeable. Thoughts?
Wow!!
Can these hinges be fit into a standard 3/4” jamb with the trimmer stud behind the jamb mortised? Or should they be installed in a 1.5” jamb?
You don't really notice traditional hinges. Probably good for fire doors.
I can’t help but notice you did not show how you made the mortise into the door frame to fit the hinge.
Came for the hinge. Stayed for the soft porn music
German engineering is crazy!! One of the very few reasons I'm proud to be German. Well, 1/2 LOL
Can't even find where to buy this. Anyone know?
Do you have a dual Acting hinge in this style?
How deft - avoid showing the effort to pocket the frame ! HAHAHA
Please sir, where can I get this hinge
Where can I find a jig like that ?
Probably at a Ferrari garage or somewhere similar haha
Can not see how it works
Can I get a discount ?
can you email me catalog please looking for hindges for a book case 1700mm high say 300mm deep 600mm + - wide
Creating the mortice in the lining IS NOT as easy as this let me tell ya.
Forstner bit and a Finn saw -Finnish deep pocket with a jig saw
And does the cut out for the jamb just magically appear? Soft.
Ill advertise for you
Well this isn't easy, look at all the tools you need.
Jesus Christ! When you buy this shit, it routers the jamb stock automatically! AND the dude drilled the pilot holes freely without the use of a centering bit. So far from real-life fine carpentry. Internet failure 100 percent!
+Shawn Hayden Shut the fuck up.
