Sometimes, I overhear people say “I want to play this piece or that piece because it’s easy”… and it honestly makes me a bit sad. Obviously, difficulty will always be a part of the consideration, but I think we should think first about how much we would love to perform this piece, or how much it affects us.
This End Theme is no exception. It’s such a simple arrangement, yet for me, it means the whole world. At the beginning, this section represents naivety, and sometimes, with a nervous stance. I play it in a careful, almost unknowingly way. The middle section of the arrangement represents life as we live it. And by the end, we repeat the beginning section.
But at the end… I played it as if I was an old man, full of memories, looking back at all that has happened in my life. I play it much more confidently, much more assured. At the end, I finish with a smile on my face, without regrets. There were a lot of good moments, and a lot of hard times as well. But all of it made me who I am today - and that is why it ends in a happy, peaceful note.
I hope you guys enjoyed this Friday’s upload. My digital piano is still out of order as I’m looking around for someone to refinish it to a shiny piano black.

Aaaah, your playing always invokes so many feelings.
It isn't important how hard or easy a song is, how much crazy jumps it has, it's the message it brings across that is important.
I think so too. Of course, it's fine once in a while to have fun with a song and arrange it with a lot of technical stuff (like my SAO2 "Courage" arrangement), but sometimes it's also good to take time to really understand the music~

I truly thank you for playing the piece of music that has affected me the most. About two months before I saw this film, my long distance relationship had ended and this movie was almost a biography of what happened to me. When I heard this piece I cried for a very long time and I'll never forget it.

It's almost the same for me. Well, at least I'm the one who's making the decision to cut ties with her and move on. We're about to graduate so I think it's best that we forget each other and leave our memories in the past and go our separate life.
I love how you changed it. It feels quieter, less accented than the original version. And yes, you did play it almost nervously, and it seems a bit slower than in the original. But that made it amazing. Thank you for the upload!!

Every time i hear those first three notes my heart tightens up.
such a painfully wonderful melody. this reminds me of a lost love. everytime that i hear this, it opens up a wound but at the same time it gives me peace. we can only move on.

It was almost reflective of reality, I feel. An ambiguous ending I felt was neither too happy nor too sad but simply real-

Yeah it really is just real. Its the type of story that just shows how much can change as life goes on. And the realisation of that fact is extremely depressing. The animation also added immensely to the feel of the story imo.

I always wanted to watch this anime, but when I actually decided to watch it, I broke up with my long distance realtionship.. Now I'm scared to watch it, I'm afraid that it'll have a sad emotional effect on me :/
Don't watch it, by any means. It will completely broke your heart. Man, I have never had a girlfriend in my life and it totally made me cry. You should first get over your feelings and then watch this. I know what I'm saying, believe me.

the description made me tear up... since ive watched this anime, this has been my number one anime piano song... i dont know why... but i feel so much when listening to it... i started playing piano a week ago and can play the prelude from bach now (im a violinist, so its easier for me to learn piano). my goal from the beginning was to get to this piece. i hope i can attempt it soon :D

been waiting ALL DAY for this. thank you, it's just so beautiful a piece. This was the first and probably only anime which, without any twists nor turns, no exciting plot devices, kept me on the edge of my seat for it's entire duration. When he waited in that train car not knowing when it'd move again, i cried for him.

Literally for years now, I've known how to play a simpler version of this song, and every time I play it, it makes me feel so full of emotion. It is simple, yes, but yet so beautiful and expressive. the content is what hearts seek and not its appearances nor grand deliveries. The way it actually send us the feelings are the most beautiful thing we will ever hear from a true loving music.
I never thought of this as an happy ending. I felt so sad and 切ない(what is the English word for this??) throughout the entire thing. But maybe it is some kind of an happy ending. Maybe it is just I don't know, because maybe I'm just a child.
But I like this piece. It goes in my top of bgm. Maybe #1. It is just, very 癒し, very comforting (I feel 癒される is a better word to describe it (English is also a good language)

If you're ever in a relationship. Please don't leave each other. Long distance relationships is such a pain in the ass. Testing your relationship with distance is a big no-no. I've never experienced having that kind of relationship but I know for sure that will fuck things up. If you really need to be in separate parts of the world that badly, then go for it. Just talk to each other regularly and give all of your best moments everyday and give them the "I love you" everyday for several months, years of being apart.

One thing I liked about this one over the original is that instead of brushing the chords (low to high really fast), you do the chord all at once. It makes the song feel a little more bold. ^_^

Personally, I prefer easy pieces, because I'm just about to start playing piano and most of your transcriptions are over the top for me. ^^ So I have to search for songs that are quite easy and then keep on getting more difficult ones when I managed the easier ones.

BEST PIANO EVER
I'm listening to this because my depression is back again, i don't know why i keep making it worse by listening to sad music. I've been so used of getting hurt, that I don't mind getting hurt more and more. Sometimes I just don't want to wake up anymore.
