The way our reading tastes align so much has convinced me to pick up a few of these I had on my radar but hadn't necessarily considered yet ... loved this video!!
You are such an iconic human (: thank you for posting and giving insight into diverse and meaningful books❤
your sweater looks so cozy i love it!
absolutely adored this video! i just love the way you talk about books
I am so happy I found you years ago and you are now again uploading more! I feel like we have very similar reading tastes. Many of the books you mentioned I already read and loved oooor are on my tbr already and are now bumbed up! Can't wait to tackle my new prioritized tbr 😅
Thanks so much for sharing your favorites!! I’m adding some to my TBR 🫶🏻
Just found your channel and I can’t wait to binge all your videos!
I love your list because many of the picks are in my ever expanding TBR.
Since our fantasy taste seems to match, I think you might enjoy The Surviving Sky by Kritika H. Rao. Indian inspired Sci-Fantasy that is very character focused. It's a debut I really loved and the sequel is coming out this summer!
“Couldn’t decide if I loved it or hated it, but I keep thinking about it” is exactly how I feel about Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh (writer of My Year of Rest and Relaxation). Such a disturbing and unsatisfying book, but a fascinating look into a disturbed psyche. I kept expecting it to be more explicitly queer, though haha
Ah all of these books sound like books I'd absolutely love, you did such a good job of explaining them! I'm adding them all to a tbr now 😂
Ooooh The Dowry of Blood stuck with me. Over a year later and I still think about this book!
YAY for the HistFic--always underrated but have so much to offer ❤🔥
I’m 1/3 of the way through Cleo and frank and I’m obsesssssed with it!!
Rewatching Jananie’s videos>>>
I hope you have some great reads this year. Best wishes.
Reading Kaikeyi right now because of you and loving it!
Ahh yesss I hope you love it!! 🫶🏾🫶🏾
Your taste is immaculate!
Loved The Stationery Shop, Emily Wilde, and Southern Book Club! ❤️
I also recently had a huge genre switch up and have found my love of literary fiction. I'm not sure why I've never read it before but it's becoming a huge favorite of mine. Also thank you for the Palestinian author recommendations. I've been trying to make a point of reading more books by Palestinian authors and I'm going to make sure to add to my list now! I'm currently reading Salt Houses by Hala Alyan and really enjoying it.
Beautifully said 💖💖💖💖
Pachinko is my favorite! After I read it, it is now a series on Apple TV.
Definitely will be reading Grady Hendrix book and a dowry of blood this year
I just finished Blue Skinned Gods based on your recommendation. I loved it. Thank you for the recommendation. I probably wouldn't have picked it up if I hadn't seen your review.
ahh that makes me so happy! glad you loved it
I read Babel earlier this year and LOVED IT so much, upset it took me so long to get to it but I think I read it at the right time for me to handle it (not good at bigger books)
8:18 Sounds like the sequel to ‘Bottoms’. Very interesting premise.
I loved Pachinko and never see anyone talk about it! I'll have to add some stuff to my tbr
The second Emily Wilde was so fun. Can't wait to hear what you think about it!
Ahhh I'm so excited 🤩
Excited to find another South Asian booktuber! 👋🏽 we can totally be friends based on these book recs 🫶🏽
“Mexican Gothic” is the answer I give when someone asks me for my favorite book and we don’t have time to talk about how that’s such an impossible question 😂
Discovered you recently and love your recs. Also feel very represented as a bipolar girl who loves books ❤
❤️❤️❤️
I’m sending you a plethora of love and great books (:
Pachinko is one of my favorites!!!!
I was just waiting for Big Swiss lol
Babel, Mexican Gothic and Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries are good books.
5:25 Have you seen the adaptation of it?
Found you saying you didn’t know if you loved or hated Conversations with Friends so funny, cause that’s the only book I have finished and given one star. God I despise that book 😅
📚
We can't be friends.
Are those books really horror? They don't sound much like it. That first book sounded super campy.
I ordered "Evil Eye" because you've mentioned it before.
