    __
    Walking on the city concrete,
I fall into a vision on Front Street
And I see it all in dismal imagery
Sounds and the sights as they hang on over me.
And the faces of all the pedestrians
The strangers I pass that look like friends
There’s a number all allotted to them
Oh the time we have on this rock well spent -
    Is it a miracle?
    That we’re all around.
    In a world so spherical.
That we’re not left here and now.
Now I'm standing at the edge of the ocean.
Heart heavy in the town I grew up in.
And my fears are drowned in the fading blue,
I’m out on the shore reaching out to you.
And right there on the water it hits me,
For every ounce of suffering and mystery,
    There’s a child that’s born in a hospital.
A flower that blooms in the freezing cold -
    And it’s a miracle,
    Of cosmic chance
    A goddamn miracle
Held by the hands of no master plan.
In all the highs, and all the lows
The mystery that consumes us whole,
There isn’t a single thing we know
    It’s a fucked up show
    It’s a Miracle.
But I can’t just let time pass me by
With an aching heart for an alibi
Help me learn to love the air I breathe
The light in the eyes of the irony.
because all in all I have it all
When all I am is a miracle.

It's refreshing to hear actual honesty in a Christian-adjacent band, not just cliched "The lord is my God" type shit over and over.

"A goddamn miracle / Held by the hands of no master plan" kind of has the same vibes as that quote from Cormac McCarthy's The Road
"There is no God and we are his prophets."

Is Tooth and Nail still a Christian label? That's some pretty coarse language they're allowing in their signed bands.

It would appear they aren't anymore. Unless you're in the radio/worship/CCM world, being known as "Christian" is the kiss of death for any kind of real success in music, so I honestly can't blame them. Not exactly the most principled thing to do, but it looks like that's not who they want to be now. Whatever the case, Christians should be listening with discernment to anything, "Christian" label or not

      @clintonwilcox4690 Pƙed 2 lety +1

@@AndrewDRoyappa I agree, it's just the language being used in this song is not language I would have expected from a Tooth and Nail artist. But then again, I haven't really paid much attention to Tooth and Nail for years.

@@clintonwilcox4690 Yeah I think they're basically just trying to get away from being exclusively Christian these days. Valleyheart is also an incredible band tho, check out their last album Everyone One I've Ever loved

@@AndrewDRoyappa Yeah, I like the song, I was just surprised to hear such coarse language from one of their bands. If the music is good enough, I can tolerate this kind of language in the lyrics.

On a recent podcast the singer said because there’s not allot of Christian bands outside of worship music ,tooth and nail can’t really be picky with who they want to sign anymore
