This must have been shot from the top of the tower block on Arthur Street, Small Heath (its still there today). As the camera starts to pan across to the right, you see bottom end (start) of Coventry Road. At 11 seconds, you see Blues football ground and the split of Coventry Road with Cattell Road. At 17 seconds you can just about make out the Tilton School tower (middle of the screen). At 26 seconds, you see the white ruins of the Wimbush factory - and its own domed tower. Immediately to the right, is the split with Green Lane - and you can easily make out the old Small Heath Library and swimming baths. At 1 min 23 seconds, Coventry Road stretches off into the distance. That large patch of green in the distance is Small Heath park. On the extreme right is the railway line that connects Small Heath station with Tyseley.

Thanks so much for this information. The original tape is now in the media archive of central England and I can add your comment to the catalogue

@@TurcVideo Thank you. I forgot to mention that at the start of the film, the chocolate/cream coloured building on the centre left is the old Bingo Hall (now demolished) and the large building in the foreground was a bus depot from the 1950s to about mid-1980s. At 2 seconds, you can see a WMPTE bus (in cream-blue livery) going down Coventry Road.
