I just love it when you explain what your understanding is and by the looks of it you know what you are talking about, but then the person who listened, not knowing the law still keeps talking the same rubbish all over again without even considering that you actually might be right or perhaps a double checking would be better than escalating nothing into something huge thinking they're superhuman.

A legal activity is more often within the realms of something you have been given permission to do

I have been inside those courts a few times over the years, they closed the cafe and installed a usually empty vending machine
It’s quite a modern building, as with anything new it’s falling apart

They film outside but do not capture images from inside, that is the difference. Holding a camera to a window was always going to create a reaction.
What they could have done is ignore him, wait for the film to be uploaded and then move in with a prosecution. Like them of not, they probably just saved him a criminal record assuming he doesn’t already have one.

You can take pictures outside the court but on their premises BUT if you Capture images if Judges, Magistrates, Solicitors and Witnesses and publish you commit a serious Criminal Offence.
They spoke rubbish - but it’s lack of understanding. They were probably told not to allow filing to keep it simple.
It's not a serious criminal offence. It's a £50 fine.

@@TheSadButMadLad I guessed that. It’s an old and somewhat irrelevant statute. There are two main areas of Law which cover this area
1) Common Law - where the higher court judges have power… but they chiefly rely on 2) The Contempt of court act 1981. Research that, May I suggest.
The penalty is 2 years in prison. That’s the basis under which the likes of Tommy Robinson was jailed. It’s a wide Act, and linked to Common Law. Basically, if you corrupt the Court process in ANY way the Judges will be onto you.
So, a little knowledge (and a keyboard) are dangerous things. It why Lawyers get a bad press but we still get the big bucks…

it is unlawful to be inside the court and film at the same time and that's not simply trespass. its more than that and its is an offence. however, if u go inside without filming and ur asked to leave then yes that's a trespass issue alone (unless aggravated by a criminal offence).
in this instance though ur not filming inside the court building itself but ur just on the outside property so that's probably just a civil matter where they're now asking u to leave. government property is still a type of private property in the sense that you can be instructed to leave from it by its officials. criminal justice act is of no relevance and is a pseudo-paralegal-fallacy. that act only pertains to political demonstrations (well, the section u refer to at least), which is brought into place to deal with Oswald moseleys political demonstrations and political uniforms. it does not define public places for any other purpose other than political demonstrations

Anyone can film in a public space, that as public access, its as simple as that, what you can't do is film inside a sitting court.
But, then again they don't sit as a court, they are in fact, administrative tribunals.
If someone is stopping you call the police, to keep the peace, that's what they are employed for, isn't it?
To enter a justice centre is a "right," if you don't know your rights then you haven't got any, it is as simple as that, in the USA their auditors wouldn't stand for this rubbish.
