Cautious boxer-puncher vs cautious counter-puncher. Better safe than sorry, it’s good boxing and it’s their bodys’ on the line so I fault no fighter as long as there is an intent to win or improve, but that’s why I’m always impressed with fighting-punchers who aren’t afraid to stay in punch range.
A good fighting-puncher won’t chase and will flow between boxing and counter-punching and eventually drag his opponent into a fire fight, where somebody is gonna tagged.
To be able to stay in fire fight range and hit and not get hit is for me the highest levels of boxing.
Always interesting to see how Riff adjusts when he's fighting in a smaller space and with someone who has almost as much reach as him.
Still mostly reflex counters and trying to bait but he has to wait a lot more since he has less room to escape after his counter. Very interesting.
Maybe some legit jabs with follow up combos instead of pawing for hand position? Both guys were a little hesitant to throw and very "ok" at not committing. In a 3 round bout somebody is gonna eventually need to box tho.

Whenever a non-switch-hitter switches stances inbetween a fight it means they are definitely getting flustered 😅
