Christmas Repair Special - Weller WES51 Soldering Station

Another day and another soldering station. I know to some its rude to give used gifts, but in this case if I can give something better than they already have, it's worth it.

I discovered a short in the iron the hard way by popping this stupid non-serviceable fuse. I gather from comments that it’s a 125v component but we use 240v where I am. Would I just use a 240v 4a fuse?

Do you have a part number for the BUSS 125V 4A fuse?
Or will really any 4A though hole/axial work for that?

Damn, they made the fuse holder too small to put a penny in it...
(Why wouldn't they make this easier to get at though, seems like a pain.)

Hey, I have one of these and the knob is off. Do you think that I can fix it somehow? I do some repairs, but I'm not great. I found your video, and you seem to know what you're doing, so here I am. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The bits that hold the knob in I've had fall out before. I just found a suitable small screw and used that to hold it in.

I have the same station and it's still going well but the the plug for the iron is loose and I can't disconnect the iron. Have you seen that problem before?

Will the LED light up if station is switched on but the soldering iron (pen) not plugged in ?

I don't actually remember checking that. I do know a wand with an open heater will turn the light on but obviously it will never heat up.
