    Who can sail without wind
    Who can sail without wind,
    Who can row without oars,
Who can part from their friend
    Without shedding tears?
    I can sail without wind,
    I can row without oars,
But I can't part from my friend
    Without shedding tears.

When I first heard this song, it kinda felt similar from somewhere inside of me that I don't know. My ancestors moved from Macedonia 100 years ago. I didn't expected to see someone from Balkans in the comment section

Your comment is touching. This is great, Albanians and Turks falling in love with a swedish song. Our origin is different, but our dreams are equal. We are strangers by skin, but brothers by sentiment. This song reminds us on that.

Could be wrong but I think this version has been Russified, the structure is made to conform more with Russian folk music (song repeats twice with different lyrics and both times the second half of the verse is repeated, which as far as I know isn't present in the original and is definitely much more characteristic of Russian folk music than Swedish), plus the addition of either a balalaika or a mandolin but I'm fairly certain it's a balalaika

Old comment, I know, but this song is very Finno-Swedish. A large number of Finnish people speak Swedish, and this song has that dialect and also probably some of the classic instruments and tones from Finland.
