A Modernization of the German classical composer Franz Schubert's 1815 masterpiece "Der Erlkönig" or "The Erlking". Hope Lies Within crafted this piece to reflect all of the amazing compositional stylings of Shubert, yet HLW brings in the full arsenal of their talents to make this song their own. "It is unmistakably the Erlking, yet it is very different. We needed this to be the most accurate rock arrangement of the song ever done." Hope Lies Within skillfully arranged this song to be heavy and modern while retaining much of what is familiar. "Listeners will continue to discover new things hidden within the music the more they listen".
This music video is a collaboration of Hope Lies Within and award winning animator/director Benny Zelkowicz. "We saw this amazing sand art video done and we realized it was the perfect melding of the arts" -HLW. Zelkowicz, who animated this video entirely out of sand, is sheer genius in capturing the essence of the song.
