My Dear Friend Catherine, Well worth the wait. Time in the mountains seems to move soooooo, slowly. The mountains seem to have an infinite ♾️ time they seem to stand as the sentinels and the guardians as time passes around them, they are not in what they protect so dearly. They move in a totally different time then the earth itself. It was a long time ago in a different place. I went up for a weekend trip. I went in in Colorado and came out a year l8r in Wyoming. Ofcoarse between the time I went in and came out, needless to say I was 2 different people. First thing I remember was when did we, as a people become so noisy. It is almost obscene and to say the least offensive. You have come so far in such a short period of time Catherine, U should be so proud of yourself. Time in the mountains change a person, in ways no one else will ever know. So in closing, you are coming into your own little lady. As always may U always have a warm gentle wind at your back pushing you forward. May you always be traveling into another beautiful SUNRISE. So many places to see, so little time. 1 AT A TIME.
Catherine WHY didn't you do that side hike up that ridgeline? That hike and those views are LEGENDARY! That view of Mt Assiniboine is probably one of every 10 photos on calenders across the world!
This is truly Gods Country!! Thanks 🙏 so very much for sharing.. Stunning !!!😢😊😮
Heaven on Earth!! Epic views!! I am blown away! Oh Canada! You are beautiful beyond words! High fives Catherine and Joey!! This adventure tops them all! From the smallest hummingbird at 6:02 buzzing around your camera, to the magnificent Grizzly at 24:34!! Amazing footage!! Stay safe, strong and have a super week!!
Thanks so much!
Love the post-bear encounter banter. Cat: "We made it", Joey: "So far..." 😂
lol 😂😂
@@CatherineGregoryAdventures Admire how you you kept your cool though! 👍
Joey Coconato, the ultimate mountain backpacker.
Best video ever. And I produced television programs, movies and special events for many years.
We are heading for Bannf & Jasper next week for a month of glory - can't wait!
Wonderful! I'll be there next summer👍
Dear Cat 🫶😃thanks for that amazing video. 😍🙏 We also had memories on 2019 🥹 good to hear, you are save again 🖖⬆️ many greetings from you huge Berlin Fan couple, Nicole and Hardy 😃🐻🫶
Thanks to both of you for taking us along. I have never been healthy enough to do this. Birth defects, work damage, etc. meant I could only do roadside view and short walks. However my visit to Banff and Lake Louise some years back were awesome. As beautiful as the video is, a camera cannot capture the full awe of those scenes. Anyone who can see it in person should do so. We also spent time in Waterton that summer which again is amazing. The wildfire smoke the summer I was there played havoc with me as you could taste it and it really killed the resolution in the images I took with my Canon 7D camera. This video showed me how much I missed by staying on the roads, but also reminded me of the powerful majesty of the Canadian Rookies. Get there if you can.
Also six weeks in Alberta really messed with my internal clock. Having light until 11pm confused my system. I remember thinking that going to bed with day light in the window was something I had not done since kindergarten and I was in my sixties.
Yep, get out there, see our beautiful world.
jaw dropping scenery! the best yet!
My definition in a dictionary for majestic would say CANADA. I love our west and we too have stunning views but there is something more rugged and wild as you head further north into Canada. Loving this trip. Thank you for sharing!
8:46 Wow! And your destination looks like the Matterhorn!
What an amazing adventure with spectacular scenery! The mountains and the lakes were stunning! Thanks for taking me along, it was exciting as you dodged the grizzly bear. Joey captured some pretty cool footage on his hike. Eighteen miles was quite a push. Good Job to both of you!😀👍
Wow! That was the most beautiful and amazing trip you have done so far. Great job, I really enjoyed it immensely!
Thank you very much!
Wow stunning nature view and nice hiking ❤thank you for great sharing have a good day take care 💖
You've said it all re: the beauty. Nice that you and Joey split the commentary.
Hi Cat, just some thoughts about the use of trekking poles. When you are carrying that heavy weight as in when you are doing backpacking, it's a great thing to have the steadiness and extra support of the 4 point contact which you use all of the time, I see. However, there is much more benefit that can be gained with trekking poles if you know more about the proper use and form. There is a technique that also does a lot to help propel you forward with each step when you know how to coordinate your strides with opposite leg/arms each time. And, this technique also teaches that other than when you are climbing up, you should not be placing your poles in front of you so much. Here's a short video and I'm sure there is a lot more easily found out there that will better explain (only 5 minutes long:). I have no doubt that if you are interested in trying this out, it will greatly improve your hiking experience and take weight off of knees and joints and better distribute the effort. Best of luck with this. czcams.com/video/7q2YwOE4okA/video.html
Absolutely stunning scenery plus encounters with wildlife to season your experience.🦅🐻🦫🥀🍒🌲Relieved that your Grizzly encounter wasn't a problem. I know you carry bear spray but was surprised you didn't wear bells on your backpacks to alert them. I'm not sure if it helps or not? Anyway, I'm sure your hamburgers, shakes and/or beer was a nice reward at the end. Jenny
Nice, very nice. Thanks for taking us along.
That was amazing spectacular scenery. I'm impressed with how the Canadian government sets up the backpackers with campsites and storage. The grizzly can definitely put a lump in your throat but at least there were no cubs with that grizzly.
Yes and even in the Provencal campgrounds I stayed tent camping in, they supplied us with fire wood read to use and they were so clean!!
Absolutely stunning, awesome, gorgeous scenery, I’m jealous 😎⭐️🤩
Thanks for this video, you brought tears to my eyes , i use to hike the Canadian Rockies some years ago with friends , one of them passed away very young , hope she can see this scenery at ease now wherever she is .🐻
In my humble opinion, there’s nothing better than backpacking in hiking, and seeing grizzly bears or wolves. Thats the reason why I love the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, and my favorite mountain range the Wind River. The scenery was amazing.
Oh my word! What a stunning adventure. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. The bear, there might have been human scat on the trail if I had been there!😊 You both walked by him like you do it all the time. Truly a lovely vid, Cat. Thank you for sharing. Until next time, be safe and enjoy the burgers.
The video is gorgeous as always. But, the sound track was particularly beautiful too.
Thank you very much!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent hiking video.
Beautiful as always love your videos & so glad your not hiking alone . Always 🙏🏻 & thanking him for your safety .
Just absolutely beautiful.
Wow Cat. 😮 Easily one of my favorite videos you done. Very beautiful and very moving. Your cinematography is just brilliant. Kudos to Joey too. Great shots by both of you! You can bet I will watch this episode many many times. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. 🙏🏻❤️
The scenery was breathtaking! Those mountains were almost unbelievable in their beauty. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Having mountain biked and hiked around Banff and surrounding area, while living there. Couple things are important. First, bear bells, second bear spray.
Beautiful countryside - glad to see Joey is still alive and well…
One tent per site?!? On another note, your videos are always a treat for the eyes.
Limit the amount of people , you limit the negative impact.
You are a machine...Beautiful place. Your smile brightened up the place. Keep on truckin...be well, stay safe.
So beautiful where you are and so enjoyable with Joey there
Oh to be young and brave again! Hope you brought along bear spray. The scenery up there is outstanding. Thanks for taking us on this adventure. 😎
We both carried bear spray. :) Thank you.
I saw one can of spray and I bet there were three all together. Serious business.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Including that grizzly bear, he was beautiful. I'm glad you guys made it out safely. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels
Such amazing beauty. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful Area on Planet Earth!!
Fantastic!
Thank you for the perfect Sunday morning wake-up.
So nice to have someone else to hike with especially when you are in Grizzly country. Such stunning views, Wow. Thanks Cat & Joey for sharing your adventure with us!
This is an amazing video Thank You. ❤
Awesome… this is the most beautiful views you have taking me on … thank you so much for posting this video …
I drove the Icefields Hwy the week after that big June snowstorm. I was simply stunned with the scenery! Would have loved to backpack up in those incredible mountains, but too old now. Thanks for much for sharing that amazing hike and scenery with us. I've decided the Banff/Jasper mountains equal the Italian Dolomiti as far a dramatic views! Glad you had such a great hike and Mr. Grizz thought you were boring!
All I can say is, OH, WOW 😲. What a thrill to watch your video. What stunning beauty in Canadian provincial parks!! Especially this one. Good that the grizzley kept to himself 🥴🥺 & you could walk on. Great experience for you two. Glad you're safe. Thank you for sharing 🙏
WOW AWESOME thanks so much for sharing this with me. I love your videos. Always spectacular.
What a beautiful area. Glad you made it safely past the bear.
So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing! The bear was exciting!
How absolutely beautiful! I’m so happy I got to share your adventure! Best wishes Catherine! 🍀🍀🍀🙋🏻♀️
Thank you so much!
Quite the hike. The bear looked calm, not excited so that boded well for hiking past him. The lake afterwards was a cool postcard moment. Sunset was great as well. Sunrises are also a treat, getting up early and watching it come up while one enjoys a morning coffee. Probably the most nervewracking transit was the hike through the head high bush as you don’t know what is a few feet beyond and very easy to pass by a grizzly without knowing it. Thank you, Catherine.
You couldn't have asked for better weather! Great scenery, thank you for sharing it with us.
Yyyess!!! Looks like Switzerland! Thank you Catherine and BFF Joey! Breathtaking :-)
God's existence is evident in His creation. So beautiful. Some views brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much.
Absolutely beautiful! I'm considering packing a cow bell when venturing thru grizzly area lol
We make noise and yell out a lot. :)
That was my humor on being noisy
Another stunning video. One of your best ever. Your videos make Sunday mornings extra special. Thanks so much. Speaking of bears 😁….
In 2016 I was in Wyoming on a motorcycle traveling west HW26/287 to Tetons NP. There was a river or creek to my left with maybe 10 cars stopped on the left shoulder. I assumed they were looking at a Moose in the water. I pulled to a stop on the right shoulder, shut off the engine. I was not quite even with the first car. Then I notice they are all pointing their cameras in my direction. Huh? I look to my right and about 20 feet up a slope is a very large brown bear munching on berries. Even though it seemed uninterested in me, I did not get my camera out, I thumbed the starter and eased away trying to create as little noise and fuss as I could.
Thank you! Awesome story!
We are so glad you two are together. We love you both. This video is breathtaking. Thank you.
Spectacular, oh Canada 🇨🇦😍, stay free CG ❤ happy 👣
This is why I watch your channel. You backpack into some beautiful places. I'm can't hike like that, so your videos give me the opportunity to see these magnificent places.
Thanks for the great video. It was awesome scenery.
Absolutely STUNNING!! very well done journey 🏔️
Most beautiful hike ever!!! 18 miles in on day impressive. 2x’s the amount I have ever done in a day. Thanks so very much! Beautiful!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Wow..amazing all the beauty Canada has, thank you Catherine and Joey for a marvelous video.
Awesome thanx for taking us along for the ride. ❤
No words seem appropriate- staggering beauty. Thank you! And that bear- wow. You are a tremendous talent, Catherine. Thank you so much for all your work on these videos. ❤ ⭐️
These Canadian series are jawdropping! Thank you, looks like i need a passport!
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful trip! Keep it up, girl!! 🐻🏔️next time I wanna see the burger eating!!
I watched every second of this video, clinging to my seat. It was filled with one stunning view after another. Having personally hiked over 18,000 miles, and still hiking, this trip you are on is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I get the cheeseburger comment!! Visions of cheeseburgers begin dancing in your head! Or pizza...or pasta...LOL
Wow! Such beautiful country.
Canada seems to do a great job with constructing and maintaining facilities for hikers.
I'm still blown away by the footage, I don't know what to say.
Thank you for sharing this adventure, Cat and Joey. Stay safe out there.
I'm really liking this collaboration between you and Joey, Cat. Very good results, especially here in this episode. Glad that grizzly bear was preoccupied. No doubt! Cannot believe how beautiful it is in that part of Canada. Cheers.
Heartbreakingly beautiful! A hike to be extremely proud to have walked.
Yes it was!
Incredibly beautiful views of the mountains! Thank you.
WOW those mountains !!! One more video better than the others !!! Thanks Catherine, take care and enjoy your hikes ❤
Catherine, while I know you can hike safely alone most times, I am so happy you have a hiking buddy now, because I know there is some strength in numbers while hiking. Beautiful country!
Hiking alone in the back country is simply foolish. Just a sprained ankle could turn out to be fatal.
Wow, just wonderful content and scenery
Wow! The scenery was truly epic! The grizzly bear encounter was exciting and that is as close I would ever come close to one. I've been close to black bears and mountain lion but never a grizzly. Great adventure, guys!
Wow! Beautiful scenery, color, light and adventure. Thanks to you both.
Grizzly Country is real…I’m lucky enough to have visited Canada through my Grandfather who was Canadian… very different to my homeland Wales 🏴
WOW!!!!! Such beautiful scenery! Thank you for sharing! Loved seeing the grizzly. Glad he stayed away!
Us too!
Just when I thought that your videos could not get any better this may be the best ever. Wow what spectacular scenery! Thak you Cat and Joey for blazing those trails!
So beautiful, I was so disappointed when video ended! Thanks so much Catherine!❤❤
Stunning! Hope Canada can protect this incredible land.
"STUNNING!" Beyond stunning! Wow! The filming and photography is National Geographic Quality! What an amazing experience and wilderness expedition! Thank you for taking us along! That sucks the Lodge was closed to the general public. What snoots! A cold beer to go perhaps? 😂 LOL
Hello!' Katherine and Joey. You are so blessed to be on a hike like you are. I have never seen such beautiful pictures as I have with you both on this trip. The encounter with the Grizzly bear was phenomenal. So glad you made it back on the way back trail. Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures. And just watching you both on the hike.Until your next video. Can not wait.😊
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Glad the moose stopped drizzling on you. HA HA !!
😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing your adventure. I've always wanted to hike, but never have. Stay safe. Hugs ❤
I have watched your videos for a while and they never disappoint. This was one of the best, if not the best one yet. So happy that you are able to do this for yourself as well as for us. Many thanks and I look forward to the next video with great anticipation . Stay safe out there!
This video was absolutely beautiful. How lucky and blessed you are to be able to do these trips.
The country is magnificent. Thank you for bringing these videos to us. Be safe😊😊
The country is magnificent .
We flew in about 10 years ago. Truly, one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen. The lake is 10-15ft lower than when I went, crazy! There is a Dutch family that ran the lodge, don't know if they're still there. It sits at around 7200ft. They're daughter was 14yrs old and climbed the summit. I hope to go back before I'm unable to. Thank you for the video. You've inspired me to take my son's next time.
Matterhorn indeed…and more. Wow! Thank you for taking us along. STUNNING! ❤
So breathtakingly beautiful. 😮 I would never want to leave the magical mountains & lakes. 😊 Thanks Cat & Joey for the tour. ❤❤🙋🏼♀️👍🏻
It must be incredible to see this in person. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Thank you Cat for taking us along...
Epic trip!
Magnificent landscapes!🏔🏔
The way you capture the beauty in your photography is spectacular.
Awesome video Cat!👌
Absolutely stunning! My favorite of your videos so far....beautiful!!!! I would be so scared in the bear areas...thank you for taking us with you on this fabulous journey!
A great way to spend Sunday morning! Beautiful parks, and thanks so much for sharing!
Impressed by the beauty of the Canadian Rockies and the spectacular scenery, thanks once again Katherine for another wonderful video, already looking forward for the next one
Incredible beauty. Thanks to both of you for capturing it and sharing. ❤
Catherine...
Good morning angel. That was outstanding. This is the masterpiece I was waiting for. Even watching this on my 72-inch TV just doesn't do that kind of scenery justice. As you like to say. Absolutely stunning!!
Your first grizzly encounter. So how big was the lump in your throat?? I'll never forget that feeling. I run into black bears in Minnesota and the U/P of Michigan more often than you would think. But I know it's not the same as your first grizzly.
Now I'm going to scold you just a little. I want you to get yourself a 'bear bell' or two. It might seem a little strange. I always wear two. One on my pack and one on my hiking staff. I can tell you from personal experience that there's nothing worse than suprising a bear using the same trail you're on. Especially in those areas of thick brush you were walking through. I just want you to be safe babe. Please think about it.
I really enjoyed this one. Some of your best work ever!! And at :30-minutes long. Perfect for me. I'm looking forward to seeing video from your seven day trip.
Have an awesome week sweetheart. Be safe when you're adventuring. See ya, bye.
Love you. ❤ Randy. 🎹
Thanks so much Randy. I hear bear bells don't do much. I definitely make noise and yell out a lot. Especially around blind areas. My head is on a swivel so to speak. lol
@CatherineGregoryAdventures yes I did both, "yelled talking loud" and wore bells as well. 😂
That is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I absolutely love the Canadian Rockies. Stunning. Thank you for such a great video.
